  1. 3.15 brought the goodies and there was more nuance than I expected. A Multi-tool attachment (which I like because I can carry that and customize between tractor beam or medicine). And a stand alone applicator Medical Device called a ParaMed. The nuance comes with dosages for pain, concussions, paralyzed, respiratory problems, and even overdose. Initial problems with self administrating, but they were resolved. You get dropped, you then have the option (M key) to make a job offer to come and sort you out. The hope is they will come and fix you up instead of you paying them to come kill you and loot your corpse (now available with the new inventory patch). Pesky details... Here are some descriptions. - DRUM out (edit: got the two devices tagged backwards - sorry.)
  2. Says 8 workers, who double duty as vendors in the 8 shops when landed. I will probably have a NPC crew for this thing. No player is going to want to be a vendor, just sayin... I have no idea what they will be selling. A lot of something. - DRUM out
  3. Easy explanation, it was necessary to allow it to reside in a hangar. Without that is was planet side landing or huge pad only. Here is the new inside layout
  4. Step one is to delete your User folder to get rid of any trash left over from a previous patch (as per CIG). Myself, I only had that happening a lot when I was running many other programs in the back ground. If you watch your memory you will see if this is your issue as well. The game wants a clean 8g and if it is hunting for scraps it tends to boggle. I have 16g and one solution is to double my memory, but just closing the other stuff works for now. - DRUM out edit: Remembered this also occurred when I had that bed log out bug. That happened when I bed logged and the game refused to fully load. One fix mentioned was a reset on account page but that resets way too much in my opinion, so I just kept retrying and it finally pushed into the game. - DRUM
  5. Whenever ships pop up at half price it raises concerns. Hope it all ends well. - DRUM out
  6. You have had this for one day and want to remove it?
  7. Yep, that 750k altitude is a drag. Best advice is to grab the fastest ship you got and boom it out. On my second attempt I used a 350r, and it really flashed those numbers.- DRUM out
  8. Examine your memory. I have noticed that until almost 8g is allocated to Star Citizen it remains in Loading. If you have a lot of side things running and it cannot get to 8g, it will never finish no matter how long you sit there. I have proven this by loading things just to prevent a full 8g available and it does indeed break the game. Maybe yes, maybe no - but it does matter so it is worth examining. - DRUM out
  9. Welcome to the forum. It is indeed kicking up some. Current live allows for Huge ship landings. Interesting method used for when there is no pad. One tip. If you watch your memory management you will get an idea of when it will stop the Loading Loading Loading screen. When SC has filled around 8Gb of memory, it will finally land you where you logged off at. If your internet is slow, or you do not have 8Gb above things already running, you will be disappointed a lot. I learned to turn off a lot of things I usually have running in the background while gaming, before I load Star Citizen. Happy Trails - DRUM out.
  10. I have been hunting the new PTU for medic serums and a multi-tool attachment, but just finding the usual so far. The Orison hospital looks like the place to be and you can see the goodies. Just no interaction (sigh). - DRUM out
  11. I also suspect one is warbond and one is not, but do not know that for a fact. Just my thoughts since that is usually how they sell ships. - DRUM out
  12. Not sure what you are asking, but here goes... An LTI P72 Archimedes (35 usd) would convert to a CARRACK (600 usd) as follows (note that the LTI seems to follow the upgrades) - DRUM out
  13. The latest Calling All Devs is essentially introducing the Medic as a profession, complete with supporting hand tools. Huge step up from just owning a Cutlass Red. We are going to need bigger backpacks. - DRUM out
  14. I had thought to eliminate my Nomad or maybe even the Hull B for a Railen, but for the money it would cost it seemed less than a bargain. Then I remembered my alien fighter. I have a Khartu-al for no reason I can remember other than the cool factor, especially since I am Trade/Industry not Combat. SO, I imagine the cool factor wore off (and it was quite expensive at the time). I upgraded to the Railen for 55 buck and maintained the LTI from the Khartu-al. (melting a LTI ship for credits is never a good idea since you can always upgrade it into something else, as done here). More than a cool factor this time – it has some serious weapons for a mere cargo hauler and is rated for long hauls. Only pause was the 4 man crew, but that will resolve itself, plus it was stated you could blade the guns to the pilot in need. - DRUM out
  15. A Palisade and NN-13 cannon will help with the once in a blue moon NPC attack while space mining. I love the reactions from the NPC pilots when you start to smack holes into them with a well shielded mining ship. - DRUM out
  16. Put on the default undersuit, then move over to Armor/Torso. Your rucksacks will show there. - DRUM out
  17. There is a rented Cutlass in the shop downstairs from the refinery UI. To make it profitable it is necessary to do more than one refine segment, since it only raises the value by 30-50% +/- and the twenty minutes is better spent mining another rock load than heading planet side. For reference, I am pretty sure the Cutlass cargo is double the nomad. A refining tip: Only refine the top leader ores. Bexalite, Loranite, etc. The lower cost ores just are not worth a SCU for the planet side run. - DRUM out
  18. Did you scroll down to the Prospector in Vehicle Loadout? The upgrade items only show on vehicles that can use them. There is no lag, you should be able to mount them on a supported ship as soon as you bought them. Only hold back is the active or unclaimed ships will be Read Only. Only stored ships can be modified. - DRUM out
  19. Just as an aside, this is typical Chris Roberts. Whenever he announced a new game, as followers, we made throat noises, because it meant we were fixing to upgrade our machines. He didn't compromise and pushed for the best resolution and performance currently available. i5, i7, i9, instead of 8080, 386, 486, but even as things change, they are the same. - DRUM out
  20. Mine pretty much sucked with an older graphics card like you show. I upgraded to a GTX 1080 (not the best but ...) I have had no further stutter problems since. I cannot respond your AMD chip as good/bad/indifferent, just what worked for me. I imagine that today you can get better than my 1080 for less money than I spent on it. - DRUM out
  21. Anything exciting and fun happening for you this year? Give it a shout out and let everyone share the joy. Happy New Year 2021 - DRUM out
  22. I have been going large (Cat etc) with the refinery loads and was curious what a smaller version would look like. So I filled a Freelancer with just Boarase, Bexalite, and Loranite. Total in ship was almost 198k, with approximately a third of that as refinery profit. 66k for a 20 minute trip ground side certainly makes it worth while. I lost count of how many 15-20 minute mining runs it took me to fill that Freelancer, because I only wanted high percentage runs of those 3 resources and just sold the ore if it was different or low percentage. It takes money to make money holds true then, since not everyone with a prospector will have a large cargo ship to pile it into. I imagine daily rentals will be available once the game rounds out, dunno. Another adage mentioned also came into play. The risk/reward part was a close call. When I was on my way to the TDD building the server crashed with that insidious 30k. So I was just minutes from losing the entire 198k load. Whew... - DRUM out
  23. Glad to see you on SCB, @Orion Pilot (and yes the money spent seems to accumulate over the years). If your name is any indication, you should be happy with the current build. Refining ore is what your Orion is going to be doing while you are off doing other things. Currently it is turning a 20k load into a 30k sale, but that is with a measly 32 SCU. I jumped into the refinery process with both feet, since a version of that will be built in for both the Starfarer/Gemini and the Orion. (minus the refinery fee). SO, welcome to Imperium and SCB. - DRUM out
  24. Anyone want to slip in here and give some advice? @Academy Officer @Tech Officer @Flight Instructor Thanks in advance. - DRUM out
  25. You may be having a misunderstanding about Star Citizen. It is not a game - yet. There is nothing to lose - yet. Patches may consume items gotten in game, but any purchased items that reside in your account hangar will always be there. So, if you own an Aurora, it will always be available. If you save up in game and buy a prospector, it could possibly disappear in a patch wipe. This is because you are looking at an open Alpha Test Bed. Even that is split up. Evocati, and subscriber in PTU and everyone in Live. The PTU (patch test bed) is where things go to be broken. Once stable, it is pushed to LIve. One more thing. There are many aspects to what we currently have. There will be a stand alone entry game soon (Squadron 42), and the Live universe, which includes Persistent Universe and arena play in Star Marine and Arena Commander. Examine your package carefully since a stand alone ship is not a game package. The picture below shows the two available game packages. The S42 for the stand alone game soon to be released and the Star Citizen part for everything else. A starter package cost is still $40 I believe. With that you have an entry level ship (Aurora) and access to the live test bed. You can always purchase other stand alone ships or additional game packages later if the game interests you. (some ships come with LTI - Lifetime Insurance) which means you will not ever lose them forever. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ship-matrix You can examine the difference in the various ship matrix shown above. One thing of interest is Cargo. If you want to move goods you will need cargo space, so something like the new Nomad is a good mix between fight suitability and cargo hauling, even though pricier than the Aurora. A lot to think about before you buy in, but I just wanted to make sure you realized you are buying into an Open Alpha/Beta with just the Stanton system currently, and not the 100 promised for the finished game. Just make sure your first package contains the Star Citizen Digital Download. - DRUM out
