At some point some jackass ( * whistles innocently * ) made a picture of a giant crab in side a hangar, many jokes were made but slowly people started joking about it as a religion and the Crab became known by many names: Jibbers Crabst, Tasty, "Oh god not this again" but most people know him as The great space crab, Mythical god of deepspace. (Or the Patron Deity of the Subreddit) Some members out there have even created their own org to worship his chitinous visage. I think it'd go something like: Sensor/Comms guy: "Captain there's a nice asteroid field over there there for us to park the Carrier in so as to mask our signature from enemy scouting ships" Captain: "Navigation move us into ambush position over by that field" Nav guy : "Aye, Aye Captain" *Once parked in position* Sensor/Comms guy: "Captain sensors are picking up something moving through the field... It's coming right at us!!" Captain : "Can you tell what it is, does it have any recognizable EM or heat signature?" Sensor/Comms guy: "No Captain, but I can bring it up on screen" Captain : "Mother of lord! What the hell is that?!" Weapons guy: "I've heard stories of a Great Space Crab... that must be it!
