  1. Greetings First a little bit of context… I am—Well… --was a console Elite Dangerous player. I was a prolific bounty hunter and explorer and had many achievements and end-game assets. But, as you have heard, Frontier, the developer, decided to not only release the not-so-new-anymore expansion Odyssey on consoles, but altogether discontinue any further developments of content for consoles (including next gen). In other words; if I want to continue my adventures, I’d have to start over on PC. Extremely annoying, considering the obscene amount of hours I’ve put into the game. Still, that in and of itself is not the problem. I might’ve. But I feel betrayed. The way Frontier handled this just wasn’t it, and very indicative of the way they interact with their Elite player base. I love Elite. I really do. But frankly, I just can’t bring myself to supporting Frontier in any way right now, and as much as love No Man’s Sky, it will never, ever scratch my pilot itch. And if I’m going to play on PC anyway, perhaps it’s time to become a Citizen. Did some research already and I’ve been eyeballing the Cutty Black pack and I will almost certainly get it a few weeks from now when I come into some extra money. But I still have some questions. Hoping yall can provide me with some answers. Can I use a flight stick (HOTAS) or controller? Can I, if I so choose, load into a solo game session, or is it always open? Will I have to renew the insurance or will I, as the website says, always have a basic insurance “for testing purposes”? Does basic mean I can upgrade insurance and should I? What exactly are pledges, and what are the benefits? What’s the deal with the wipes? What are some good groups to join for casual play and learning the ropes? Anything else I should know? Thanks in advance yall…
  2. Hi Folks, I've spent too many hours trawling Spectrum looking for the community. I didn't find it there. I've spent longer bimbling around Stanton dabbling here and there, getting frustrated and quit after an hour or two. So, it's nigh on time to join an Org with some velocity and some depth so that whilst Star Citizen itself is 7 miles wide and 1 inch deep I can put more depth into SC in other ways. Hopefully you'll be welcoming to my application to join. Seasons Greetings and here's to wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous 2021
  3. Hello everyone, I am a new member on this site. I am very excited about Star Citizen, however I do not currently have a PC that can handle it. I am also working on planning and paying for a wedding, so I really could not have decided this was the game I wanted, at a worse time! Once the wedding is out of the way, I will definitely be building a PC and pledging as fast as I can. Until then, I will mostly be lurking and reading here. Up until this point, I have mostly been a console gamer. I also used to be hardcore into Mil-Sim gaming. I was on a mil-sim team that played most tactical games (Not call of duty.. I don't have a high opinion of run and gun games..) We were made up of many active and retired military members, as well as civilians like me. The tactics we learned and taught were 100% legit military strategy, applied to what the game allowed. I was with the group for 10 years before it finally splintered and disbanded. So if any orgs out there are looking to get some tips and tricks for how to run your military side more efficiently and tactically, feel free to ask. One thing I have noticed from watching various streams and YouTube videos, is that very few players seem to realize the potential this game has for tactical domination. Because of server size, it isn't really an issue right now, but when server size expands things will get very interesting.. I might not have the game yet, but I would love to make some connections before I get into the verse! Future Plans: Build a good (roughly $2,000 budget) PC that will be primarily used for Star Citizen and Sim Racing. - I have a company PC and Laptop for work, so this PC does not need to focus on anything but gaming. Buy/Build a Sim rig that can be converted from wheel (SimRacing) to dual sticks (Flight) - I want to find something that can easily be switched depending on what I feel like playing. Figure out how the hell I am going to afford all of this without my future wife being pissed.. (Adulting can really suck sometimes) Anyway, that's my hello. If you have any tips or any setup suggestions, please feel free to message me!
  4. Phonetic Kash ... unfortunately Cash name was taken LOL. Suppose a loot cashe might equally be descriptive. Been around in various levels of activity since 2013. Wing Commander pledge level, with ships focused primarily on Cargo/Trade, Exploration, and the combat ships to protect them. Gamer for many many years. Early retired. Married, one kid who's adult age, living in Texas USA. Looking forward to participating and engaging fully with a community that is active and organized, and keeping pace in developing activities and infrastructure in kind with the development of the game.
  5. Hello everyone, i'm a new one in StarCitizen, but i like it , and i hope you will teach me a little bit . I think organization is important, so i decided to join Imperium because of your routes, which i like . I'm 19 years old, may be i'm young, but my gaming experience is big, and i know about fights and tacticts and teamplay. Right now i'm studying at the University for the IT spec. In every new community i always try to represent myself in a good. I'm a good man, you know . And i hope you too I'm playing for experience and fun, and i sure i'll get it here. P.S. I'm not very good in English, so if i'm "blunt", let me know )
