Whiterius Posted April 25, 2014 Share Posted April 25, 2014 I haven't a whole lot of experience in these types of games, being a bit young when Freelancer first came out, but hearing Chris Roberts pitch this game and talk about what he wants it to be; it's exactly the type of game I dreamed about when I was younger, after playing something like Rogue Squadron. Re games to recommend, my own interests lie mainly in space combat so if you have not played it, I would definitely recommend Freespace 2. Not only can you get the game for $10 at gog.com (http://www.gog.com/game/freespace_2), but there is also a community of Freespace 2 players and modders who have updated and improved the game's graphics (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php). p... Posted April 26, 2014 Share Posted April 26, 2014 FS2 is good, as are mods using Freespace Editor 2 (FRED2) such as diaspora (completely free). Also, Evochron Mercenary is a full newtonian space-trader game with atmospheric flight. The physics are so unforgiving in their pursuit of realism, it is very difficult to master combat.
