Hey guys! I figured I'd stop in and visit a few of these megathreads today As with the Cat, I don't have any big update on the Merchantman. It doesn't appear in Squadron 42 and it wouldn't have a role in Arena Commander today, so it's further back in the lineup... but absolutely not forgotten. Don't expect to see much of it for a while (I know, you're used to that!)... but it is coming!

I don't have any cool new shots to share (they just don't exist beyond what you have access to), but I do have a few 'roughs' that were created during the last set of concept renders. These were potential layouts for beauty shots that weren't used (when we do a beauty render, sometimes the concept artist will come up with several ideas and we'll pick one to finish.) So these aren't super detailed and they don't necessarily reflect the current state of the thing (a finished shot would have involved a LOT of back and forth to get details right)... but a little more Merchantman can't hurt!

So its wider than it is long...Its also wider than an Idris. Almost as wide as a Javelin.

The quickly hacked together "bridge" box ... with the Blue Man group flying around. I just needed soemthign behind the windows, so there would not just be en empty inside BMM But it's fun ... tells me soemthign about the space and size.

Yeh I understand that the Xian keeps getting work done but not solidly. The Scythe, Merlin and Herald were infront of it and as the Scythe and Merlin are mostly done and the Herald is very far on I have high hopes for the Xian soon(ish) :).

Soo, slightly smaller than the 890 but bigger than the genesis. Also a dedicated hauler. 

The way I see it is that this (in function is a buffed freelancer. a long range, self sufficient transport while the hulls sacrifice range for cargo. 

This would be a great long range trader as you would not need escorts. (probably)
