Uncle_Vanya
Assuming we're allowed to name our hulls, what names would you give to your ship? Also, maybe a mod can answer; what will be the proper designation for Imperium fleet ships? ISS (Imperium Space Ship) or something else? As for me: Relatiator - ISS LadogaConstellation - ISS Neva Ladoga is a large lake in the north of European Russia, the territory surrounding it are ancestral lands for my family. Neva is the river that my home city of Saint Petersburg stands on.
zerkerz
I think CIG talked about something like fleet logo. I think I just will use the logo and maybe my first letter name "Z".

NLT
Might be a silly question, but I tried to google what ISS means and I only found "International Space Station" So what does it mean exactly and why does everyone seem to use it for the name of their ship? SIGO-Six
I.S.S. is the unofficial designation for ships in the Imperium. Since we don't have an official one yet, it's subject change. For now, however, most of us use "I.S.S." Uncle_Vanya

Did you read the first post? It means Imperium Space Ship, I dunno what the official designation is going to be so I am using that for now. Could also be ISV (Imperium Space Vessel) or something altogether different the admins come up with.

Veldrane
I have a few ideas around the "Hawk" and one of my ship will be most probably called Hawkmoon for a lot of good reason : - Hawkmoon was my first gaming nickame, just changed to Veldrane 12 years ago and never changed since then - Hawkmoon came of course from Moorcock's character - Hawk if Faucon in french wich is linked to Falcon... and I don't need to stress how related it is to aeronautics and military warfare (and Space Operas ), and anyway the hawk is a Bird of Prey and has tons of references in different mythologies I might save it for a Ghost (which I am going to buy/tune in game, as I prefer to start with Super Hornet) instead of a pure combat Super Hornet because of the Moon ref, but I am still working on something more "ghosty". I also have Thunderhawk in mind for a combat oriented Connie : first it sounds good, secondly it is a Warhammer universe reference to the Space/Chaos Marines Gunship. But I still have not decided if I'll go for a Freelancer (current 2nd pledge) or a Connie.

The_EventHorizon
Constellation - I.S.S. Provocatorem II, reasoning: in memoriam for those who lost their lives daring to go where few have gone before and being the few to lead humanity in right direction (literally, and figuratively). Provocatorem translates from latin to "Challenger," i felt since the U.E.E. and SC in general is heavily influenced by ancient rome i'd carry that over in the names of my ships. P52 Merlin - I.S.S. Vipera II, reasoning: Light, nimble, quick and most importantly deadly. Do not underestimate her just because of her size. VIpera translates from latin to english as "Viper." Also a side note; the "II" in the name is read as 2. My Future Mustang - Twilight Dawn

zealpath
I'm not sure if i'm the only one who does this.. but names mean a great deal to me. I've spent hours pondering a good name to use on characters. Super Hornet - I.S.S. Vex (Vex: distress, bother)Constellation - I.S.S. Apogee (Apogee: pinnacle)P52 Merlin - I.S.S. Spacehobo
Too early I would say. Uncle_Vanya
vladimerski prospekt mejdu metro i piti uglov ... ati Vyborgskij district, Prospekt Prosveshenija near Kompozitorov street...basically just down the road from Pargolovo. Unfortunately last time I was able to visit was all the way back in the summer of 2006. I hear from friends that our fair city is turning into Moscow's double, blasphemy! Too early I would say. I think "The Leeroy Jenkins" sounds like a fun name for the reckless use of a spaceship, but unfortunately that name is abit too meta for my taste. With a name like "Leeroy Jenkins" you'd have trouble getting picked for recon ops. Grue-Sum
