Gallitin Posted April 8 Posted April 8 So who's the mining expert at this point? I hadn't been in game for quite a while and decided to check on the playable status of it last week. I've been hooked ever since I've been having the most fun mining, refining then transporting to sell. I'm at CRU-1, jumping to Yela and in that belt. I then return to CRU-1 to refine then run it to Loraville once I have several completed in the C2. The cargo bug is annoying, but still having fun either way. Now my question: 1. Scanning -> I haven't really figured this out. I know you can scroll your mousewheel to adjust it, but what's it really doing with it all the way up or down? Sometimes I cannot even scroll it up, not sure if buggy or how it's to be used properly. 2. Anything over about 2k showing above the scan (I assume this is the mass or something?) seems to always be debris so I've avoided that. 3. It seems like 1850 or so is the sweet spot, is that right? 4. Is there any way to see the asteroid type or anything further out? I have to fly to each one within like 200 so see it so taking a long time to identify. I'm looking for Taranite, Quantainium or any of the other higher up value ores. 5. After mining I'm looking at the broken pieces to see their contents so I'm most efficient, but it takes 5+ seconds to register what it is. Is this normal or is there a way to speed it up? Maybe a better scanner for my ship? Haven't found anything in the stores yet. I'm in a Prospector with the Helix 1, FLTR-XL and the other I can't remember that increases the mining power to like 125%. Any and all suggestions welcome.
Chimaera Posted April 8 Posted April 8 @Gallitinbest thing to do is ping @REIGN-11-87or @Griggto start and get into voice comms and chat with us. A lot of info is dynamic and easier to chat about via voice. Hell, I've done a fair bit of mining too and could help you with some of it, but it's best done in voice comms.
