How to use Greycat

I’ve been trying to do some mining on star citizen, I’ve never done it before so I’m probably doing something dumb, but I can’t get the Greycat ROC miner to actually break the rocks. I’ve watched tons of tutorials online, and my machine will use the laser, but it doesn’t seem to increase the intensity or do anything. Am I doing something wrong here? I’ve also noticed that everybody else has a yellow HUD which shows more than mine does. I have all blue HUD and it doesn’t show as much. I’ve tried just about everything I can. Again, really sorry if this is me just being dumb lol. Thanks for the help

Yellow HUD is from the use of the Greycat miner armor.

You need to hold left ALT and scrollwheel in order to increase the laser intensity (unless you remapped) and you can only do the rocks that are the "Diamond" ones, not the big rocks. Hadanite, Aphorite, Dolovine are the ones a ROC can mine. If you're doing all of the above, just move the laser around a bit on the deposit until the intensity builds.
