i got 1 with storecredits, first got a error so thought i was tolate but stil got1 when clicked again

stil find it wierd they have a limit on the ccu, the kraken is alrdy a ship sold as limited

They still have some conversions and 300 and a few 1700.00  full version in the store   as of this moment.

looks like they didn't want to go above a certain percentile  of total sold..

looking at the cargo space there was 8 venders slots in the main cargo and 2 more private on the upper floor  after the main cargo there looks to major changes to bulk tanks above hangers. and cant tell if the dragon fly hangers are still there or not.

The Privateer no longer has dragonfly bays. More info on the Kraken variant is available on the Ship Talk panel from CitCon now on Youtube.

Sorry, yet another stupid question, if the varient (KP) has the refuelling bay removed doesn't that a flaw since it was supposed to be a carrier of 8 fighters and refuel them when they land on board? Otherwise there is no juice  to feed the birds after a while.

Edit: Also  think they mentioned that it is in production

I don't think it's gonna be able to refuel/repair/rearm ships that land on the flight deck unless they implement some form of manual service vehicle that can move around on the flight deck.

Both Krakens have a closed hangar bay on the side suited for small or maybe even medium ships and that hangar can likely perform repair/rearm/refuel actions:

Screenshots are from Kraken commercial.

But as always, if you have a Vulcan or Crucible around or on the Kraken, those should service other ships just fine.

Flight deck also lets you put any ship or vehicle on it so you can have like 50-100 Ballistas on it and just one-shot other capships.

Here is a funny player image for the Privateer 🤪 - We do know that advertising will be a thing as mentioned during the Hull E concept sale (billboards - see that thread)

Kraken Privateer should have wacky inflatable tube men to advertise

I love the kraken and now love the Privateer even more. This is the game play i've been looking for. Just not getting why many people believe that your trading fire power for market stalls? you keep all the original hardpoints, repair/rearm/refuel side hangers, you only lose 2/3rds of you massive cargo hold and the most useless of all aspects a dragonfly bay... thank god that is gone!!

This ship is one of the first CIG has offered which truly provides the opportunity for passive income. All 10 stalls can be leased out to NPCs who all will pay not only their lease payments but as this is a  contract, using the future mechanic, you can throw in security costs and ensure only your ships provide shipping of new goods to the station. So many options for the budding business person.

The kraken and KP are two different options. The removale of the refueling is a major negative point for the KP. The DF bay is a downer, but acceptable. Without the refueling there really is a bad choice for calling it an attack carrier. Personally, I want it for a defensive security task. I'm not going to be a pirate heh.

look again you do loose your fuel reserves,, the tanks on mid deck

This could affect the range that you can operate.

Also take in account the cargo was the ships bread and butter it's own resupply so to speak.

So it's tactical advantage to project at long ranges.is reduced to short range and duration.

So as long as this aspect is applied to strategic value you won't get cought flatfooted so to speak.

The banu Merchantman has a internal barzarr lvl that you can rent stalls /shops out to players and npc.0

Hi Astro ,

Three years ago I chatted with the idea first on rsi chat about a mobile market station and our dreams came true with our Kraken Privateer ! With a Privateer you can add two Vulcans to Repair, rearm and offer store upgrades to bigger ships while having a hull-c & hull-b nearby for cargo hauling and planet side trading. A medivac nearby for medical services and AUGments surgery from stores.

The possibilities of the Privateer in vanduul space are endless if combined with the Pioneer !

There's no removal of refueling from it but `dedicated hangar` bit in Pisces Q&A might point to a restriction in some of the services to dedicated hangars like repair.

I can see them keeping refuel/restock for ships that land on flight deck but repair might not be possible.

There's also this bit in Kraken Q&A but it's a year old now:

Ok please  tell me where / show me

were the 8 fuel tanks 4starboard and 4 portside That were replaced  by the habitation modules  on that deck level were moved to...and the 3 rear veritacal tanks removed for added cargo but its still listed 990..of 3k cargo space reduced by two thirds/options for Repair and refuel abilities will be greatly diminished

Once converted to the kraken p the ship looses its assets that's make it long range and strategic .there's no good or bad to this just the game play that the owners set up for them self's

The ability for a frontier outpost will  outweigh  the other aspects it's a roll of the dice.

And the argument it not  a military asset. .its not a ship of the line...its a escort /support carrier.

Till something  better or worse comes along it's what's available....

TRY again.......

Q&A: Drake Kraken Privateer

portions of Q&A

Can the Privateer conversion kit be removed once applied, restoring the Kraken to its original state? Can you swap back and forth?

No, the kit is a full conversion from one variant to another. To convert between the two in-game, you will need to take the Kraken to a capable shipyard, pay a significant fee, and wait for the work to be completed. This is the same mechanic we will have in place for other capital-tier ship upgrades and customization.

Do I need the Privateer to sell fuel, ammo, weapons, and gear, or can I do that with my normal Kraken (space permitting of course)?

The regular Kraken can only refuel, rearm, and resupply ships landed on its pads or in its hangars. These supplies come from the Kraken’s own stock or cargo grid, so in a very rudimentary sense it can, but it doesn’t have any means of safely charging customers.

Will the Privateer have a medical bay, and can one of the shops be a medical clinic to provide medical services?

While not originally specked to have a med bay, we are considering adding a very low-level facility when we start active production of the interior.

DRAK_Kraken_Promo_Landing_Sm02.jpg

Does the conversion add any extra security to the internal and external areas of the Kraken due to the added population on board?

Aside from the shielded and security patrolled private market, there are no other security features added to the Privateer.

Will this kit be available to earn in-game?

The Privateer isn’t just a kit but an entire hull variant. Like all variants, we plan to make everything obtainable in-game with the exception of a few limited-edition ships and variants.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The question on my mind is the kraken P  a exception and limited- just the here and now.....

and getting payment on a reg kraken -for fuel ,ammo, and repair. and can you block some one from getting services......

or landing and logging off thus blocking the landing pad from others to use -and if they log off can they relog on and re spawn the carrier.

this seams like it could be exploited.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When owners log off, will the Kraken remain online? How will other people take advantage of purchasing, selling, renting, etc. when owners aren’t online?

The ship will follow the same rules as others for remaining online: if players are on or nearby, it won’t be removed from play until various conditions are satisfied.
