I am one of them.

One galling thing are the white knights saying "go fix it" and posting the CIG jobs link. They don't get it. That's why I think as badly about the vehement WK player base as I do the ass hat detractors.

I understand supporting CIG through thick and thin, but they've had more than enough time for this event to make sure they don't step on their dicks. The more fervent supporters more often than not will post to gainsayers the CIG jobs like and state "If you think you can do better..." - Asshats don't realize that there are many people not working for CIG who could manage such a project to run a livestream successfully. The thing is, is that CIG is staffed by coders and other such shy, introverted personnel. Marketing and customer relations is NOT their forte - but they've had the past 3-4 years to figure it out. The fervent White Knights are just as bad as the detractors of CIG - extremes are not good because neither side thinks rationally.

I undertand what you mean, as an upside I can offer the fact that if they are fixing stuff they're ( most probably) not going to show cutscenes but gameplay.

Same.  Planned my day around this event.  Now I have to see if I can leave work early tomorrow to catch the LiveStream.....  Not too happy about this.

Likewise. Home alone with the big screen and the bandwidth to boot. Now I'm off to sit on a couch for four days with a spotty connection and a tiny tablet.

 

I'd like to know what the actual problem was. Perhaps them showing it would be a refreshing change. Somewhat live bug smashing.

For all we know, it could be a problem with broadcast equipment. That's what I interpret "technical difficulties" as rather than them just straight up saying "delayed to tomorrow because reasons".

They still could have had a livestream to those who were planning for this. You can't tell over a million people 40mins before one of the biggest events in two years that your AAA title game is delayed 24hrs. If they did that to a publisher some people would not be having a job right now. Are we really supposed to accept this as "Oh we understand CIG come on guys you know maybe something serious actually happened". No, this is unacceptable and unprofessional. These are mistakes a small start up company makes, not a multinational, million dollar company.

A sad day. Wasn't going to watch it until it was on YouTube as I was dead tired and went to bed early but it does kinda suck for people who anticipated it or even took a day off from work. You'd think a prerecorded stream would have been sitting ready and tested a week before airing.

Ah well, when life just keeps giving you lemons... :(

 

What amazes me however is that they apparently also delayed any ship sale. At least I can't see any.

Yeah, I saw the tank but it's not something I'm overly interested in as I don't think any of my ships can carry it (larger than ursa and the price is too high for me). I was hoping that they would just give us another shot at all the regular ships similar to the anniversary sale eso I wouldn't have to waste a year's worth of buyback tokens just to get the right CCUs back. ;)
