tum·brilˈ - təmbrəl/

noun - historical

an open cart that tilted backward to empty out its load, in particular one used to convey condemned prisoners to the guillotine during the French Revolution.

a two-wheeled covered cart that carried tools or ammunition for an army.

Per Citizens of the Stars the next concept is a little buggy.

basically, they are "redesigning" the work of the greycat and making it bigger and wheels capable you going "outside" the hanger.

Anyway, like this:

Quote

a farmer's cart, especially one for hauling manure, that can be tilted to discharge its load.

:D

just had a bad image of the word had really been tumbler, Batman. The game would bew filled with NPC as well dressed as batman and the meme would melt the intraweb :D

See his is closer size wise. I am still thinking about the connie to guess-measurement since. One thing, the lynx is basically something like that but scaled down again. @Danakar Endeel posted liquidpinky better style and @Donut with the closer size imho. almost forgot @AstroJak for a bad guy to hang out with at night as he can't handle his drink and/or other stuff if you need to see K9 squad :D

What about a Mark Watney-mobile? We've already got desert planets in the game (or soon) and habitation outposts, all we need now is our mars rover and we'll be good!

I'd say that this matches the CIG aesthetic well (perhaps less view obstructing bars on the cockpit...players would simply rage if this were implemented as is) and is basically an Ursa with a flat bed for cargo.

EDIT: This thing also has that weird low gravity porpoise movement in The Martian movie that the Ursa had in the CitCon demo.

@GeraldEvans, it could be both; you just need to add some hamster cages to the back of the watneymobile with a hamster water feeder on the side to keep them alive. I've seen prisoner transport pop up a couple of places-is that because of the Tumbril / French Revolution guillotine usage connotation?

Im really expecting this concept sale to be as successful as the original rover sale...hold on, yeah no one bought those did they?
I guess cig should stop flogging secondary vehicals and hand over that 600i. Next concept sale from cig, the Super-Sonic laser toothbrush!!!
Sorry guys... i can get behind spaceships!!, maybe a selection of outpost buildings and even the occasional racer bike but grpund vehicals should just be left for in game purcahses not concept sales...
Just my 2 cents

One thing, I already had briefly mentioned it, the Lynx rover. While this does have similar specs (IE open top cargo) it is a tiny cargohold really. However the concept art for the lynx were shown years ago and the Rover rover had an overhaul making it more compacted to fit in the connie. So most likely the real lynx will look pretty different.

Unless Star Citizen/CIG is misleading and this is the same buggy model. There should be a much larger cargo hold  than this tiny little thing.

tumbril is basically a hauler by definition.

That's the concept art for the Ursa. Nothing at all has been mentioned nor seen of the Lynx except that it is an Ursa variant -- and that just recently.

If you are going to claim esoteric things as fact, be prepared to source them.

Lynx and ursa are both rover designs. I never said anything about this being the the lynx  / tumbril. I have said this is the rover pic, But its cargohold is way too small to be the "tumbril". Stop whining please

This isn't whining. You claimed the Lynx was an open cargo rover. This had not been said by anyone but you until now.

Hey guys,

Happy Hour confirmed without dancing around that the next concept is the Cyclone. This is from the ships price post:

2017.07.14 - The Cyclone will go on sale Friday, July 21st. There will be five options, ranging from $45 to $70.

Also, there is a website redirect up now, if you go to if you go to https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/cyclone it redirects too:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/cyclone/Cyclone-Cargo. David Haynes from Spectrum figured that one out (not me, I'm not that clever)

When I started my Star Citizen journey in 2012 I was a single gamer.  In the years since I have become married and now about to have my second child.  Real life has Priorities and I have determined I just don't have the time to commit to this game that I once did.  All of these ships are Original Concept - LTI.  I CCU'd an Aurora LX back in 2013 to a Super Hornet which is listed.  If the ship comes with a game package. it is also listed.  All sales will be done over Pay Pal.  I have had a long history on these forums and have done a lot of trades on this forum,  Reddit with Kane, and Shroud of the Avatar Forums.  If you would like we can also use a third party middleman.  I would prefer Kane as I have worked with them in the past.

If you are interested please PM me.  I have confirmed that all ships listed below are giftable. I can also post images if you would like.  Seems kind of tedious to do though for something that can be pulled from any unverified source.  On another note I do still plan on playing.  I have another dozen or so ships that I have purchased third party that are currently not giftable.  The math get wonky though with having to factor in credit resell values after melting and buying back with new funds.  In any case.  I will continue to monitor game development and hope to see you all in the verse.

      Greeting Citizens!
Vehicle enthusiasts know the name Tumbril. Formed in 2536, the company designed some of the earliest ground-based vehicles for the UPE Army. For centuries, it was a trusted name in dependable, off-road vehicles and HOVs. Although the company was forced to close down in 2862, the reputation of these vehicles lived on.
      Now, Tumbril is back.
After carefully considering all the varied and exciting systems in the UEE, Tumbril has chosen Stanton system to extend a special invitation to active pilots around Crusader to pre-purchase this exciting new all-terrain vehicle.
For a limited time in this inaugural sale, Tumbril will be releasing a special edition of the Cyclone called the Dust Devil. Featuring a non-reflective matte black paint, the Dust Devil is perfect for land-based operations that require speed and discretion.
We know that your business is your life, so having dependable and reliable vehicles at your disposal can be the difference between a payday and a blown contract. That’s why we’d like you to consider the Cyclone or one of its dynamic module variants as an addition to your business.
The UEE Department of Transportation & Navigation
With the unveiling of the new Cyclone, Tumbril wanted to remind you that some businesses require a Class-G license to operate vehicles like the Cyclone. To that end, Tumbril has teamed up with the Department of Transportation and Navigation to provide a direct link to the appropriate written exam to get you rolling.
Get your Class- G commercial Drivers License here!

The Ursa (Latin for Bear) was originally included with the Constellation Aquila, then when sold individually for $50 after the GamesCom 3.0 demo we got a lot more info about the ground vehicle.
Two seats in the front, and up to 4 in the back with a couple weapon racks, it can cruse around difficult terrain.  Similar to the Argo, the Ursa has a wide loading ramp, and a narrow side entry for personnel.

      Per RTV #89 Today -
IF CIG decides to do a Concept Sale and sell the Ursa and Lynx Rovers individually (like they did the P52 and P72) then what Concept Sale Price do you think they set?
