So I've recently come out of hibernation to try out the 2.5 Patch and I'm having a little trouble with the 325a. The guns are powerful but hard to control. While practicing, my main strategy has been to line up the lead/lag on the wing mounted guns, pop off a couple shots and then line up the gimbal mounted gun when an enemy ship makes a hard turn. I've yet to try locking the gimbal mount and firing all guns with lead/lag aiming.  In any case, I noticed the Super Hornet comes with 2 gimbals and 2 unmanned turrets, which seems like it would be much easier to use in combat.

If anyone has any tips for the 325a I would greatly appreciate them; however, I was also considering a possible upgrade.

If the Super Hornet ever goes back on sale would I be able to directly upgrade my Digital Bounty Hunter - LTI (325a) game package to a Super Hornet and keep all the extras as well as the LTI? If the hornet doesn't come back, can I upgrade my 325a to another eligible ship and retain the LTI?

Disclaimer: I searched the forums for 10 or 15 minutes and this is the most relative sub-forum I found to pose this question

Even a normal F7C hornet would be a good upgrade from the 325a. You could buy/rent the nose cannard turret and flashfire mount to make it into a pseudo super hornet. Personally, I like the normal F7C with 3x S3 weapons and the 1x S4 weapon from the flashfire mount ... but I am a Dual Joystick player.

I used to see a lot of Ghost players too running around with 3x S3 weapons do well too. Don't see it much anymore and I don't know why. Was really hard to get a missile lock on the Ghost.

I really liked the fact that the Super Hornet comes stock with room for 2 passengers, and the fact that it's a bit better overall; however, if I were to upgrade to a F7C Hornet , would the LTI transfer over?

In the current build you normally just out run or go behind and rock to avoid missiles, at least in my experience, your most likly to see super hornets and sabers flying around right now with how things are balanced,

as long as you get an upgrade to apply, yes LTI transfers, my suggestion thought is to wait untill citizencon or november sale to see what combat ships become available, since the 2 top dogs right now can't be bought, but you can rent them before you buy if you have the REC ;)

You can always CCU the 325A now to a Hornet and then CCU it later to whatever ship is available. The Hornet is superior in every way to the 325a other than 'luxury'.

This is probably your best bet.

Also the 325A has cabin space, can do more things than dogfight.  Not just "luxury".  Doesn't matter much in Arena Commander but already is useful in the PU.

The Hornet comes with a cargo module you can swap in and out.

Yeah but an interior cabin is still more useful in the PU.  Even without any extra seats you can search and rescue stranded people, for example.  I don't think you can do that with a Big Box cargo container.

I have read that CCU is a 1 time deal unless you get help from customer service, I have never tested it. I have in the past suggested the same thing, CCU now to a better ship and then CCU later to an even better ship. I saw it here in the forums, will look a bit to see if I can find it.

See Switch's answer in first reply,

You would have LTI but you would have to ask Support to help you as you can only CCU once without CIG helping you if they will.

I have applied multiple CCUs to the same package. I started with a 300i and CCU to a Hornet and then to a Warden. Once applied the CCU is gone . but there is no restriction on stacking CCUs.
