RSI Ursa Rover

The Ursa (Latin for Bear) was originally included with the Constellation Aquila, then when sold individually for $50 after the GamesCom 3.0 demo we got a lot more info about the ground vehicle.

Two seats in the front, and up to 4 in the back with a couple weapon racks, it can cruse around difficult terrain.  Similar to the Argo, the Ursa has a wide loading ramp, and a narrow side entry for personnel.

Go here and there and everywhere with the Ursa Rover! This wheeled explorer is capable of traversing the most dangerous alien terrain, keeping the driver and crew safe from the elements and attackers. Initially designed for the Constellation Aquila, the Ursa is now available to all Citizens.

Desert worlds, derelicts coming up, being able to inhabit derelicts like a hermit crab, rovers, planets..

My body is ready for 3.0

Eh Caldon .... Are you asking people to inhabit your body like a hermit crab does?

Yikes :o:lol:;)

Love that they demonstrated a low gravity planet :)

Yeah can you imagine trying to recreate that crazy jump from Armageddon on an asteroid with almost no gravity and a few nice canyons. All we need now is a crazy engineer sitting on top adjusting our trajectory with his jet pack ;)

I love this rover, but I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure about its insurance.  If they clarified it, then I'll also save up for an Aquila upgrade during citizencon/anniversary sale.

I tweeted Ben asking for an Ursa Insurance update and Q&A during the sale. (It costs as much as some ships, why not.)

I sent the insurance question in for next weeks Bensday with Bat Girl.

Maybe someone with concierge can submit it as a question, but as far as I can tell, no decision has been made.

Just noticed the gun comes up from the side when changing modes.

Thank you.  I'd love to hear what they tell you... based on how planetary landings were done, the armor, weaponry and capacity of the rover would be invaluable to my set of ships (compared to the LTI tokens Dragonflies), and the insurance thing is just a convenience for me because I can imagine losing it over a cliffside or something xD

If I got around to buying the rover, I might use it in 3.x to salvage and repair scrashed ships:

I bought and melted 2 so I'll have the unmelt option down the road in case I win a gift card or get some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket.  All depending on if it will fit in the cargo bay of any of my ships I have at launch.  I won't lie, I like the looks, and the name is appealing as well.

Below image is from concept, and not final.

Man I can just see the surviving members of an Imperium assault force tailgating with a few Ursas after we succesfully conquer a planetary base

We really need a BBQ that operates in every possible environment and a Kegerator for the Ursa ;)

A BBQ? Why, we'll just burn the bodies of our fallen foes as we drink wine from their skulls!

This Ursa thing, other than being seen in the GamesCon footage, has entirely escaped my attention, and I pay pretty close attention.

Its in the game now? Where do they launch from?

They were sold recently, as a separate item?  Where are the RSI website links to it?

Its like the YouTube videos I'm watching directly conflict with my actual experience.

Well, not that close apparently [emoji14]

The Ursa was pictured in the Aquila brochure and ad and comes with that. It was also pictured with and comes with the Carrack.

The standalone sale (+/- Greycat) only lasted a few days (3-4) which is why you don't see it again.

I know it comes with the Aquila (and a similar one in the Phoenix), but I missed all the recent news about a sale.  Any web links to it still?  Anyone know where you can launch one if you have one?  What hardpoints does it have?  If you have a Phoenix, do you get an Ursa Rover loaner just like you get a Merlin snub fighter loaner if you have a Phoenix?

Edit: Found an old link to it thanks to this post:

Link is dead now though.
