Who Are You?

I predict  SC will be like every MMO I have played.  I'll try every profession and stick with the one I find the most fun and rewarding.  I usually play support classes and multi crew ships is what drew me into SC, so I believe I will end up enjoying repair and capital ship maintenance.

Here's my plan so far.
It might change depending on what CIG throws our way in the coming year(s).

My first priority is finding a way to make a steady income... so I'll focus on cargo hauling at first.
Finding a good trade route and using my Hull B to make money by hauling cargo around. That space-trucker thing.. hmm.

One of the things I am really looking forward to is job-hopping. I'll be looking for jobs on various ships and stations to increase my knowledge and experience. I'd love to just spend a while as a salvage operator, or a mechanic on board a capital ship, or a fuel specialist on a starfarer, or a repair mechanic on a Cruscible... etc.

Second for me is exploration, which I think I'll do more for fun then profit. We know little about how exploration in SC will actually work but I doubt you'll make the same as with dedicated cargo hauling.. depending of course what you find. I got me a Freelancer DUR which (hopefully) I'll be able to fly with a group of my friends. I am incredibly curious to see what CIG will have in the exploration game. Wormholes, anomalies, derelicts, planets.. I can't wait.

Third is potentially some combat, though most likely only when Imperium requests some extra fighter pilots.
I have a Sabre and I am looking forward for some of that sweet squadron action.

My "end game" goal is to make enough money to buy a Reclaimer in-game and become a salvage captain. The Reclaimer has been on sale now and then and every time I decided to just not get one. Making enough money for the ship, finally being able to buy it and then seeing it show up in my hangar.. Oh man...

It's going to be a great adventure.

You'll probably find me hauling stuff in a Starfarer, Freelancer or some other cargo ship.  If not, then you'll find me in a medium-sized industrial ship, either mining or trawling through a site of battle or an asteroid belt looking for derelict ships and/or pilots in distress.  If not, then you'll find me as part of some logistics team in a fleet, moving soldiers, ammo, fuel etc between ships, performing quick field repairs etc.  Otherwise I'll be offline :-D

I think this about sums it up:
http://www.theonion.com/article/man-smoking-e-cigarette-must-be-futuristic-bounty--34531
“Look at him, he’s obviously stalking his mark right now—and I bet that beer he’s drinking has no effect on him because his internal organs are all bionic and thus alcohol-resistant,” ... “I feel like at any minute that guy might jump from his seat, charge across the bar, and waste a future war criminal with some sort of pulse rifle, particle cannon, or X294-phaser blaster.”
...“But what’s hidden behind those badass mirrored shades? Highly advanced ocular cybernetics? Or maybe sad gray eyes that have seen humanity enslaved by a mega-corporation of unspeakable cruelty?”

There are a few goals for Chard (uh...that is to say, me) in the verse.

1.  Fly my Starfarer, because its like the only thing I want to fly.

2.  Explore, the stars beckon to us all.  Just take a look in a book (starmap), its reading (flying) rainbow!

3.  Contribute to Imperium military operations by becoming knowledgeable about the various electronic warfare ships, modules and techniques.  If there is a mechanic built into the game that allows for advanced radar and space control operations, then you'll find me doing that as well.

4.  Also, when possible, the roleplay will be so real.

Starting out, exploration. Get away from the rif-raf, and see whats "out there"

Most likely to end up in a DUR or Terrapin, heck might even get end of those weird alien recon ships.

I like to explore, and salvage, which falls inline with the ships above, yet I also like mining rares, even a support ship would be fun.

Ive done all of these, and enjoy them all.

and combat isnt even in the mix.

Ah, thread necromancy. It’s alive... ALIVE!

funny to see how my goals regarding Star Citizen have changed a bit over the years. Well, maybe a little. Still looking forward to Salvage, though I have a Reclaimer now so I have no idea what my first goal will be. Still looking forward to cargo hauling and exploration. Not so much a military combat player, I might just stick to support roles.

We have some of the most skilled Necromancers on the Base don't you know? :P

As for who I'll be? Not exactly sure just yet but I know that apart from Fleet Duties I'll be doing what I find most profitable to get into a bigger ship eventually and start exploring space for a suitable spot to call home.
