Fizzlefuse
Here's my story. I saw the sale come up. I squealed with joy, took one look at my bank account and crawled into a ball in the corner and waited till the storm would blow over. Now and then I would get out of said corner and look at the pretty Reclaimer pictures. Then I'd go back to my corner, sobbing. NewzyOne

True, although CIG already gave Aegis a full lineup of military surplus Messer-era warships from light fighters to battlecruisers. The only type missing to the civvies is a Messer-era corvette. So if they stick to their lore, they should sell a military surplus Messer-era Aegis corvette imo. If they only care about how many ships each manufacturer has they could give it to a young upstart company like Anvil which would likely make a Carrack corvette variant. Personally I would prefer a military surplus corvette from Aegis though as I would like a full lineup because of lore more than an even spread of ships because of numbers. Wouldn't mind both a Messer-era Aegis corvette and a current-era Anvil corvette though. ps @VoA, I got me a Reclaimer again. VoA

I'm also eating the cardboard & paper that groceries come packaged in, the AUD is really in the toilet, more so since we have to pay USD instead of EURO and even more so if you pay with Paypal and their 5c less then current exchange rates and fees, my example from this sale: $210.00 USD (via Paypal) for order #XXX has been received. Quote Paypal : Payment $210.00 USD From amount $302.88 AUD Exchange rate: 1 AUD = 0.693354 USD I'd prefer to be paying the VAT that some EU countries do as long as our $$ were on par with US. 50 minutes ago, Danakar Endeel said: True, although CIG already gave Aegis a full lineup of military surplus Messer-era warships... I really need to read some Lore then lol As for the offering, I'd prefer it to be Aegis as well since I like their ship design / looks. Anvil are quite 'chunky / clunky' looking. TBH though I'd love it to be an Origin Jumpworks design, how refined it'd look
Rocket Man
I made it out alive! My wallet did too! I did not spend any additional money this time around. All I did was melt my Banu MM with 2 year insurance from last year's sale, purchased an Archimedes with LTI, and then CCU'd it back to the Banu MM. Basically converting the insurance to LTI from 2-year. I have all the ships I could want right now with each variant of the Connie and the Banu MM. I find it fun to earn more ships in the PU. I will have to admit though, that Sabre is looking sexy!

I've always liked the Reclaimer (as you can tell from the OP on the Reclaimer thread) ...... but...... it just became much more valuable (and useful) with the introduction of the Crucible and the repair mechanics. Scrap will be in high demand so I think the Reclaimer will be a more profitable ship than originally thought Danakar Endeel and NewzyOne
GRIZZ
Even I, "The rock wallet Grizz" broke down and got something. But I did not spend a dime. I won a starter ship on twitch, offered it to a friend and they declined, so I melted it and a couple other goodies and picked up a beater (My first and only LTI ship). It's just a place to store credits and I'll melt it in a heartbeat when they release a smaller solo repair ship (aka mini-crucible).

Switch
You know when you lie to yourself to make things better... Sometimes that side of you shouldn't say things... I ended up saying "It's only $200 more dollars" 4 times and now I'm left with a ticket trying to upgrade the Reclaimer to my melted 890J to finish my fleet. I'm just happy I don't have a family so I can feel a little better about this lol. Spoiler

Salvage ship? No way man, it will be my a heavily armored (but poorly armed) Aegis Corvette if CIG doesn't choose Aegis Dynamics as the manufacturer of their new corvette! XTSTiber
I bought a new package Aurora MR so I could melt my old package with a Super Hornet to make it LTI. Then I got me a Lancer MIS and 2 P72's
NewzyOne
Based on the likelihood that we'll be getting a manual "unmelt" tool, I did the following: grabbed the two LTI Avengers, melted them; grabbed a Crucible, melted it; grabbed about 14 P-72s, and melted them all but 2; grabbed an Anniversary Phoenix, Banu MM, Carrack, Starliner, Caterpillar, 350R, M50, and melted them all too On the off chance that the tool can unmelt CCUs, I grabbed at least one CCU from a non-limited ship to every single limited ship (except Glaive and 890J) and melted them too. I kept one of each of the ones I'm most likely to perhaps use before PU (to Carrack, to BanuMM, to Starliner). So basically, melting frenzy with zero confirmation that any of it will be useful since the unmelt tool isn't confirmed as actually happening. I nabbed two of the $30 starters to randomly give away on Reddit. One's gone to a student who seemed pretty happy All in all, I only pledged an additional $90 - the two starter packs and a P-72 that I wanted to keep giftable. The unmelting above just leaves options open, but really I already have my fave ships and that's all I really plan on starting the live PU with: > Phoenix, Khartu, MIS, Vanguard (+BUKs), Star-G, Herald Based on this really basic "playstyle type" list, I hope that the above provides for a good overall spectrum of playstyles: Playstyle Ship for Role Explorer MIS, Phoenix Light Escort Khartu Heavy Escort Vanguard (Ward), MIS eWar Herald, Vanguard (Sent) Inforunner Herald Stealth - Dropship - Racer Khartu Refueler Starfarer Hauler MIS, Phoenix, Starfarer Miner - Passenger Phoenix VIP Phoenix Anti-Cap Vanguard (Harb) Fleet Ops Vanguard, MIS, Phoenix Repairer - Scrap Recovery - Medical - SAR - .. though I may get a Cuttie Red to fulfil SAR & Medical, potentially even light Scrap Recovery. In the PU I'd like to work towards getting an Endeavor and an 890J. I have all the nicer modules already for the Endeavor, so once I get the base ship in-game I can be off and away. Always looking for suggestions though Cincinnatus and CyberianK
TheIronWeasel
I switched from a F7C Hornet to a Cutlass Blue, that was $40 And I blew another $35 on bling for my hanger XD
Farcaster
This year was a rough one for me. Melted/CCU: Jump 890, Retaliator, Phoenix, Gladius, Ghost, 315p, M50 and 2 of my Super Hornets. New this year: Endeavor, Crucible, Vanguard, Sabre Unchanged: Cutlass Red, Starfarer, Super Hornet, Tracker, Gladiator Over the past year my preference for ships has changed from dogfighting to multi-crewed fleet support type ships, but the first ships I got, a Gladiator and a Starfarer, are still my most anticipated playstyles.
