Randomly decided to check how we rank for a couple keywords.

 

The Keyword "Star Citizen" we rank #1 result on page 2.  Not bad.

 

The Keyword "Star Citizen Forum" we rank #1 on page 1.  Even above the official RSI Forum, kinda crazy

We have all the right keywords in place.  With a little more time & traffic we will hit page 1 with "Star Citizen".  The reason we are currently not is the others that are, news sites ect...have more age, backlinks, pr, ect....

Well its only natural that we be doing well for the search Star Citizen as we are a forum dedicated to Star Citizen made up of a large number of prospective Star Citizens all eagerly waiting to play Star Citizen to be a real Star Citizen in the game of Star Citizen with all the other Star Citizens......Star Citizen.

 

In other news, lets try for a real challenge...how many pages till we show up on the search "Porn"? XD

You can't talk about porn in here, think about the kids. They read it, can't find porn and are dissapointed and then they are like

 

 

But we want them to be happy so let's talk about something else, e.g. Star Citizen. You can talk about Star Citizen as much as you want, because Star Citizen is safe for kids. Except the immersion gets so real, that you...ok I'm degressing again. So back to Star Citizen, how can we make it to the first page, if someone googles for Star Citizen? Well, I don't know, but what I know is, that we can talk about Star Citizen.

 

BTW, does it help to mention Star Citizen more often in our poss, or does it make us just look like retards? Just so I'm clear about the situation

The SEO is strong with Imperium.  I searched for "privateer, tarsus" and the Imperium recruitment poster was on the first page of images.

I searched star citizen planet and my own signature showed up a little way down...that was weird...it was the only sig in there xD Edit: just tried again and lozenger's sig showed up this time too xD his old one though

Did a search for Star Citizen Signature and loads of our Imperium ones are coming up

Searched for Star Citizen on the german Google Site and even there we are on page 2 (bottom, but still page 2).

It averages ~8,000 unique visitors per month and ~150,000 pageviews.

Is it just me or is that a lot! That's around 250 new visitors every day- perhaps we need to get Imperium's name out there a bit more to get a few more conversions?

  Well not everyone visiting SCB is here for a Fleet.  They could have google'd something about Star Citizen and then browsed discussions.

Ditto for me, but one small hiccup.

 

By default Google tailors the results it provides based on what they have collected on you. If you want to see raw results that are not influenced by your previous searching, use something like Chromes Incognito mode or other browsers equivalent. Doing this bumps it back to top of page 2 for me.

 

Massively is listed there 2 times which basically screws this site off of the first page (also since RSI links to them fairly often due to articles)

 

Your best bet to up it to the 1st page would be to campaign members to search "Star Citizen" in an incognito or equivalent window and click page 2 then click your link and no other links. Only have them do this once every few days. Google puts emphasis on relevance and reads this as relevant. If you are close to bumping one, this will give you that edge. Or get RSI to feature the site again.
