Apparently we might get another version of the Sabre, called the Raven. From the latest Bugsmashers

Probably a blacked out sabre, lot of low-sig stuff on it for stealth or speed.

The Sabre cockpit was revamped to function better with the new interaction system. The geometry for the dashboard and displays was remade and the rest of the interior updated to add more detail and flair.  In addition, the entire lighting was redone to add more character and take full advantage of the new systems.

Did anyone catch CR's statement in the latest Aegis ATV? He mentioned that the sabre is a common site on the "front lines". Wasn't the point of the ship that the UEE did not want it so they were releasing it to the public? Did I get something wrong? If so, does this mean the UEE now buys it? What is the rationale for selling to civilians?

Hey guys, I was wondering what were the differences between the F7C-S Ghost and the Sabre (Base) ?

From the looks of it, the Sabre has more firepower but less armor, and the Ghost has a smaller sig and is a little more resistant.

What are your thoughts ?

Anyone heard anything about whether or not the Sabre will have fuel scoops?

Very curious to see how this newly announced fuel mechanic is going to play out. I'm concerned that it will make the role of fighters like the Sabre too narrow to be practical for anything other than very short range or carrier based operations, up to the point of making even simple commercial escort runs impractical.

I love my Sabre... But I'm already finding that I fly my Cutlass 90% of the time in the PU, because it's way more versatile. With this new fuel mechanic, I'm considering getting rid of my Sabre altogether in favor of something more functional.

Thoughts?

No word yet. A lot of negative response from the community over this. The fighters have intakes which we all thought were fuel intakes...until they weren't. Will all fighters get another rework? Will this game ever...be done?

I suspect though...that there will be a tactical advantage to not having a fuel scooping system. Like a larger fuel tank for boosting, like considerably larger. So if you are against a similar ship with a scoop, you could out boost them until they run out of available boost and then use your boost advantage.  You might even be able to purchase a fuel scooping system that replaces your combat system. Maybe...

Or...it might just suck. Faith has really been tested over this.

I don't think it's going to replenish that quickly.

I think the short-range fighters will still be able to do what they need to do for the immediate tactical advantage and dog-fighting, but then they will eventually have to disengage.

Honestly, from a game-play perspective, I think it is good that single-seat fighters will have limited endurance. You will not be able to take sustained evasive maneuvers forever, either from dodging turrets on multi-crew ships or from fighting multiple battles one after another. A fighter will have to make a decision to keep attacking or break off.

It means that even if you are a top pilot with energy weapons, you will eventually have to leave a battle, which isn't really a bad thing. It means that logistics and support game-play will matter rather than just getting your ship "in range" of a system. It is also a boon to ships like the vanguard, where endurance is one of its balancing strengths.

But its “stealthy” (smh). 😬 Yeah. All these changes are going to ripple a lot of personal fleets. Let’s see how it pans out. I am hearing a lot of Ion owners also scratching their heads because they chose it over the Inferno for the extra shield they just lost.
