Letter from the Chairman $60 Million on RSI Website

And at $62 million, the passenger liner!

  • Genesis-class Starliner – The Genesis is yet another landmark in Crusader Industries’ proud history of transport designs. This ship utilizes award-winning manufacturing techniques and the highest quality parts to create one thing; a next-generation passenger ship at a price that won’t break your budget. Crusader Industries’ proprietary NeoG engine technology offers some of the most efficient flight for a ship of its size. The Genesis line has been cited in Whitley’s as “one of the most reliable and safe public transport ships on the market.” Genesis Starliners are available in a number of stock configurations, focusing on everything from passenger capacity to freight to overall comfort. The UEE military operates multiple Genesis conversions for support roles, including SWACS and starflight test operations.

CIG Monthly Report for May

MONTHLY REPORT: MAY

On of the ships coming down the pipeline is the Crusader Industries Genesis Starliner. The Starliner is a big ship, being a bit larger than a 747. This ship is unique in that it is one of the first Passenger ships tackled by the Star Citizen team. With it being the first ship of its kind, it has made us question our designs within regards to passengers in space. For instance, some of the questions still being answered is passenger capacity, safety of those passengers, and max flight times. The exterior concept is in a solid place, but the interior concepts are still being worked on. We are really excited to show you all what we have come up with. Soon, the Starliner will sail the stars with you at its helm, or as a passenger on your way to that vacation spot you wanted to check out.

Subscriber's Den / Genesis Starliner? Cool or Not Cool? --> Response from Disco Lando (CIG)

This is a very important "world building" ship.  Of all the NPCs in the Galaxy, many [if not most] of them probably won't own their own spaceships.

============

Based on what we do know about the Crusader Industries Genesis Starliner. = Please vote for what you expect the price will be for its upcoming concept sale.

Also cast your vote on the Sister Thread in the RSI Forums (for greater sampling) plus also post your ideas for the upcoming sale (should be Soon TM but no definitive date)

Can I say I'd love to be a space-tourist in Star Citizen?

After I made a lot of money, ofcourse:D

Please take a cruise on Booster Line's Phoenix class luxury yacht. From hottubs with starview to poledancing 3 breasted Torellians, we put the L in Luxurious ........forget about slumming it with the working class on board a Genesis Starliner and travel in Style with a capital S ..... Travel with Booster Line ;-)

interesting concept.. I've noted it before, but now that I think of it... passenger ships may not be used to ferry players exactly, from one place to another, but perhaps NPCs will pay you many dollars to perhaps escort an elite team of CEOs through a danger-zone in comfort... I can imagine there will be a military (armored) and perhaps more long-distance variants arriving after the initial concept.

before you know it CIG will be mo-capping for things like swimming, playing on the beach,  sunbathing, skeeing/snowboarding, mountainclimbing. jetskeeing.. everything you love to do on vacations :D

or that's what they want us to think...

I can hear them now "no, we're not spending your pledges on a company trip. Really it's for mo-cap! LOL"

Are these day trips or multiple days? Comparable to a 747 seems small, I'd expect it to end up being more like a cruise ship size, as that can accommodate people for days-long voyages and transport enough of them to be cost efficient. If its the size of a common airliner, or only slightly larger, then you're basically talking intra-system travel or one jump tops, or I'm drastically underestimating how quickly things can move between systems.

So its big. 747 suggests something between connie and corvette.

Highest quality parts....890 states a similar and is $600

Could be between $300-$400 with it potentially being smaller than the corvette but having high quality equipment. Its a niche market though and the description doesn't suggest too much other than it being a big human transporter.

Room for a military troop transport though.

I hope it is bigger like the Reclaimer and around 300-350 usd. It won't be having many guns on it (the military version definitely will). Can't wait to see all kinds of people going into my starliner and then I bring them from A to B. Recon it could be a good, stable income if you don't want to be trading the whole time. Plus I could see missions being a bit shorter and way less riskier.

howdy all

I see the 747 quote. as being the fast passenger ship or, max capacity  mentioned, i would think it would have different size options  like the hull series did.

Freight option

and the comfort option, like a cruise ship,    Just  less then the  (rich opulent) 890

something else to buy in bulk..... muhahah

i think the price  will be like the hull C,D series / and E

rolls crafting dice.............  roll again.

the starliner will likely only amount to, at best in a military role, a C&C ship with defensive armaments. Nobody knows that "The military version definitely will" unless you actually know, which I doubt.

It won't be a Q-ship, it could be a medical ship (of course, anything with beds in it can be)

I could also see it as a bulk troop transport. There's been more than one occasion where corporate airliners were pressed into service as a troop transport for getting troops in and out of a staging area behind a combat zone. There's even the US Civil Reserve Air Fleet that operates in this manner: Standard civilian roles, but as soon as they're needed for an emergency airlift of troops or materials, they're pressed into service by the DoD.

Well, they did say that UEE had converted versions in support roles, so you're probably right on the money.

I don't know. There's still too much we don't know about this ship and tourism/public transit in general to gauge a proper price range. Just because of its size (if it's caring lots of people, it'll be big), I want to say $300 - $600, but I honestly don't have a clue.
