Boildown
And people need 8GB VRAM for what?Skyrim of course. But seriously... probably won't really need it until the next generation of video cards are already out. That said once they're available, if the price isn't that much more, you may as well get the 8GB version, especially if you typically skip many generations between upgrades. If you upgrade frequently, you can easily pass on this.
GeraldEvans
So does the 8Gb stat mean these are actually 7Gb cards? Gremlich and Ostia

GeraldEvans
Nope, twice the 3.5 of the current cards. You're being silly hoping for another half gig.
Nevermore
yea lately nvidia seems to be "misleading" they took a hit with the 970 ram issue and the gsync somewhat working without the chip they have some good cards tho... but still I don't see the point tho ... it won't be able to run anything good a 4k anyway and forget about 3x4k XD

Darkpriest667
In case you all are unaware. those RAM increases aren't going to amount to much considering the memory bandwidth on the maxwell cards is not large enough to support 6 and 8 GB. I have a 980SC and 4GB is very close to pushing the limits of it's memory bandwidth. Morgen Black and GeraldEvans
