What comes with an Idris?

Hello so im curious what are all of the additional items that come with an Idris? 

 

We know that a Constellation comes with a snub fighter, and that the Carrack and Reclaimer come with snub ships and in the case of the Carrack it also comes with a Rover, so i would expect a Idris Frigate to come with something... does anyone know what? i cant find information on this, any links? Or information would be appreciated!

Idris is not modular like the Javelin ()

 

​It will probably have some form of "outfitting" tho ?

everything is still likely to change :P 

 

​also I think the M vs P will have a different interior 

 

I.e 

The Idris M will be a more "War type" 

and the Idris P will have a more police/border control vibe 

 

but with the IDris being able to carry Gladiators the advantage seems to quite small

and IMO right now it feels like a much better carrier than the  Javelin

I believe I recently read that the Idris will indeed be modular, just as the Javelin and more. I don't have a quick source for this, though. Probably somewhere on /r/starcitizen as I try to keep up to date through there. Might of been a dev statement from the livestream.

IN RTV they said no, But When I heard them talking about the idris they said yes(devs)

I think they mean in DIfferent ways 

 

Like "hot swappable modular" and something that  you need To be in a store/repair facility to change out ?

 

 

I.e The carrack has the small muduals in the lower half that looks "hot swappable"

That upgrade is why I think the Idris is probably the best value among all Star Citizen ships.

If you’re absolutely dead set on seeing a corvette in Star Citizen, have no fear: our designers and artists are going to get to work on a new, smaller corvette that will be made available in the future!

But I'm not willing to outlay $1500 to get an Idris and a ship or two to put in its bay. Plus an early description said it would come stripped and you'd have to spend some UEC to get its weapon systems online (dunno if still true).

The corvette however (assuming the 890 Jump isn't the corvette) is something I might be interested in, depending on the price.

The Idris is a key player in S42 and they've been working on it for at least 9 months post-Frigate-revamp, and its still not hangar ready (or the equivalent of hangar ready for ships that can't fit in an hangar). If it takes them this long to make a smallish cap ship, I wonder how long its going to take them to get the full compliment of cap ships they intend to have in the game. Maybe I'm wrong and the PU is way harder, but it seems like the ships they've promised are becoming a bottleneck, based on the pace of their introduction versus being ready to be seen in-engine.

I'm pretty sure it will come stock with weapons I think your thinking of the Javelin unless you have a link which would ruin my night.

Nah it was a while ago, well before I ever heard about the Javelin. There used to be a note that an Idris would be vulnerable stock, until properly outfitted with weapons. But I can't find that note any more, so maybe that changed when they made it a Frigate.

What comes with an Idris?

 

Galactic Peace!!! (through superior firepower)

 

.... but other than that, it just comes with the support ship & LTI Insurance. 

 

However the ship itself does have some pretty nice features built in besides the firepower.  Things like: space on the flight deck for 3-4 fighters (depending on size), a full Command & Control suite, a Medical Bay (a place to revive "dead" or injured players & NPC's), individual cabins for the ship's CO & XO, an armory for FPS gear, a brig for prisoners, and a briefing room (for pilots) that ties into that C&C system....  oh and did I mention... SUPERIOR FIREPOWER?  (Railgun FTW!)

 

 

 

P.S. For those of you who were about to say:

You are technically correct, that the "Patrol version" Idris-P doesn't have all the weapons of the milspec Idris-M (but it is still definitely quite heavily armed.... think of the difference between a US Navy Frigate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Hazard_Perry-class_frigate and a US Coast Guard Cutter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton-class_cutter ).  However, I would remind you that CIG Devs have repeatedly said that there will be an "upgrade kit" available to convert the Idris-P back into a milspec Idris-M (equivalent), including even the addition/re-installation of the "Zestroyer" railgun.  How much will the kit cost?  How hard will it be to find/buy the kit?  We honestly have no idea.  However, you can bet that Fleet Ops (and most of the Idris-P owners) will be keeping a close eye out for any news about how this upgrade will work.  Working together to upgrade these ships, will just be one more benefit of being a member of a Fleet like Imperium (and for those that work with Fleet Ops, we'll be there to assist with the upgrade path).

Ah I see I'll ask the team during the next Reverse the Verse, either way it will be sitting in my hangar anyway lol
