Any Idea when these changes come into effect?

CLASS-3 2× (5x S4) – 2× (5x Talon ASIM-20/c Stalker V per rack)

CLASS-4 Unmanned twin turret (nose) (2x S3) – 2x KA 11-Series Broadsword (S3)

CLASS-4 Unmanned twin turret (flanks) (2x S4) – 2x Kroneg FL-33 (S4)

CLASS-5 Manned top twin turret (2x S3) – 2x KA 11-Series Broadsword (S3)

CLASS-5 Manned bottom twin turret (2x S3) – 2x KA 11-Series Broadsword (S3)

This ship with the changes  looks to be  able to preform both attack/defense roles. and the planetary drop ship (or maybe a boarding ship) when stelth is not needed.

the gun changes will allow it to be able to be in the neer front of the engagement as a heavy hitter/to heavy support ship .or

Or as  a medium  to close in defence of the capital ships while the fighters punch a hole in the enemy fleet

If they are or will be jump capable  then a few of these in a wing as support for the long range torp bomber and 1 or 2 cc ships(phenoix)  should be nasty.

I loved the Redeemer before and it's even better now!  =)  It has a FEARSOME loadout..  It will definitely be my goto ship for Hvy Support / Wingman!   Depending on how much fun this will be to use.. (regardless of the fact that we are all Combat Ops Secondaries) I may well jump ship over to Combat Ops primary from T&I *chuckles*

I got two when the concept sale was on.

I figured it 'may' fit into a Idris, and now with the Idris enlarged it might just, with some Pro flying skills (like crash landing it onto the deck or turning the engines off and actually fly the Idris to it lining it up with the bay)

If it does fit I'll have two on deck. It's going to be a hard decision for me what 'division' I want to join in Imperium, here I am decking out my Idris-P for all situations, 4 F7A-M, 4 Gladiators and two Redeemers. Probably end up Combat Ops =/

God I hope they fit.

Though not being the best looking ship in my opinion, redeemer has the coolest interior setup I can imagine: the way you get in the low nose turret is simply astonishing. And all the interior seems very ... fit to the role of a combat ship that does not fly high but shall go down and dirty on battlegrounds.

I bought the redeemer, and thought it was a good ship then I read the stretch goals, the very last bit about $65,000,000 accomplished,

  • Enhanced Ship Modularity – So you have the ship of your dreams, but really wish that it could be customized to suit your needs a bit more than the off-the-shelf models? This new goal, a massive undertaking, is going to be of interest. We are looking to overhaul any suitable ships (including the Cutlass, Avenger, Retaliator and Redeemer) to allow many modular components to be available as swap-outs. For example: if you have purchased a Redeemer, then using the new system you would have a variety of new modules available to refit the ship, internal and external, to suit your play requirements. If you wanted to make it a Bounty Hunter ship, you could buy a “Stasis Chamber module” for the lower deck and you would be able to capture and store fugitives to be delivered for their bounties at your leisure. You could configure the upper deck to be outfitted with a “long range communication suite” allowing you to keep in touch with your “Infoagent” even when in deep space. Fed up of Bounty hunting? Swap in a larger cargo module in the lower deck to make that profitable run you have been planning for a while, or add the Explorer Module with deployable vehicle for some planetside recon. Manufacturers will still be offering pre-configured variants, but should you be looking to adapt a hull to suit a certain task then your ship has come in (and is now ready for modification!)

It's now got better for me as I was planning to get more ships for different rolls but now the redeemer does nearly all the roles lol  :D  :D  :D

I actually got a $0 CCU to turn a Vanguard into a Redeemer because I think heavy fighters are a poor concept.  The Redeemer seems a lot more useful to me, its a gunship, its a drop-ship, it holds a bit of cargo.  If you want to get in the verse with a few friends and blow shit up, its probably even better than the Constellation.  My main problem with it is the stupid engine design.  I just can't suspend my disbelief that those clamp things would make a good engine nozzle.  I'll get over it.

This ship is so sweet.  I had a hell of a time trying to choose between it and the Vanguard. Still having a little buyer's remorse but I think I'll be happy with the Vanguard :)

I just dumped my Vanguard for a Redeemer because GUNS.

Dogfighting just isn't that fun in this game.

-and if I'm having it escort my larger ships, it doesn't need to get lured off into a dogfight

Well, not to be contrarian, but I think it's tons of fun!  :)

I think the Vanguard has similar weapon power as the Redeemer with better agility, but the Redeemer offers a lot more modularity and multi-role capability.  Very tempting!

Yeah I agree with you bud

the question is whether we'll be allowed to do such things, and if so, whether an NPC flying a redeemer will be smart enough to stay close to the big ship, rather than chase fighters and get swamped
