GE... answer to your question earlier.....One rover and cargo would be nice.  But I think even a Dragonfly would be more useful than the Merlin.

And before I get slammed about defensive mini escort, remember it has to re-dock before I can QD.  In a tactical retrograde  I need to GTFO because I am an EXPLORER.... so I don't need to send a crew member into a craft that becomes a more hindrance than support.

No, I hear you on the vulnerability that a capability limited parasite / scout brings. As for whether the Dragonfly or Merlin (or Archimedes) is better in a pinch... we'll have to wait and see, but I can't see the Dragonfly bringing more to the table. Less armament, less (expected) speed, one more crew member? Eh. I have the two pack but just for shits and giggles.

Yeah, me as well from what we can see so far. I preferred being able to see out over things, but I didn't see how the science turret would work. Who knows though, as long as the form follows the function.

To me it looks a little odd with the scanning array sitting atop a big cylinder and I kinda preferred the more subtle approach with the peekaboo hudglobe. But ah well, I don't have an Aquila but a Carrack :P  M5xD4JN.png

I hope Aquila owners can still swap the turrets around though so you could have the manned gun turret on top and the sensor turret on the bottom. But seeing that the top covers are also shaped differently it seems this may not be possible.

Wich would be a shame as the manned gun turret on the top offered a much better view as you wouldn't have to look between your legs all the time.

Watching the demo, I was surprised to see that the Ursa took up pretty much all of the cargo lift/platform.  I had originally thought there would be more room for some cargo on there as well as the rover.  Not much, but at least some.

Yeah Squirrel. It was a question I asked 2 years ago. Ben later said that the Connie would be modular so you can put the Taurus butt section on the Aquila (lose the Merlin), for more cargo space. Can't quote the source at the moment since I am driving.

I wonder why they would raise the price of the Aquila when it’s Flight ready since they didn’t raise the price of the Andromeda?

Hopefully 3.0 is after the anniversary sale so I can attempt a $0 CCU to the Eclipse.

At one point, wasn’t the idea that later on we would be able to swap out the front and rear of the Connie’s to mix and match.  Say I wanted the Aquila round nose with the Taurus rear extra cargo????

Am I making this up because I haven’t heard much on the subject since the ship shape mentioned it last year.

I think they said recently it was an idea but only a "cool" idea and with the way they are building modular ships like the 600i, with removable block but same hull, i don't see them coming back anytime soon and making it so you can swap out front or rears of the connie, sounds like if they did it would have been done from the start,

I really didn't like this architect's critique of the 600i (and you can see my comments posted on SCB and Spectrum) - and I think he probably read my comment on Spectrum and dramatically improved his critique of the Andromeda / Aquila / Phoenix and Hammerhead.   One way I kinda know he saw my post was that he comments about how an aerospace engineer may design something different than an architect for a spaceship (and I am both and that was part of my critique of his video).   Anyway he did a nice job here - check it out. :)

Someone from the Leaks Discord apparently found these images of the Aquila while datamining 3.9.1. Not sure why CIG made these though as the Aquila is already flyable. :)

Unless these are supposed to be the Constellation Taurus; but that would be a bit odd considering the Taurus isn't supposed to have the round cockpit.
