Wu Jen
The Duration should be a good ship. I'll withhold full review until we can see how it performs in AC. Until some more features of the game go live we don't know how fuel, jumping, sensor strength etc all play in to making an explorer ship a 'good' ship. But since its being billed as a solo/small crew explorer then I expect it to live up to its reputation. maxxratt, Nehmus and BMichaelG
BMichaelG
I agree with you completely, hopefully it lives up to RSI.com's description. But if not there will always be in game upgrades Puls0nic

Fjnfnffnfn8485858
It's just going to be a bigger exploration ship, In terms of the amount of cargo it can carry. I do like the freelancer dur, considering buying one myself! BMichaelG
CatoAtticus
I have a DUR myself, though am now regretting not getting the MAX as I plan on focusing on trade (can't melt it down because it has my alpha access). The DUR does look to be a great ship though so I'm not entirely upset with the decision and as I don't currently have a dedicated explorer the DUR should be fine until I can get my hands on a Hull (A-D). Wu Jen
Ben did state recently that you could pull the equipment + sensors off the DUR and put them on the MAX. Same with the missiles from the MIS. BMichaelG
Fizzlefuse
Proud owner of the DUR right here. I'd say go for it if you can afford it. Or just wait and set it as a goal in-game.
Tirpitz
also upgraded mine to the DUR, maybe in the PU I change it to the military variant. DUR looks much better for me then the normal Freelancer
Morgenroete
Also love the functionality of DUR, really like to get my hand on their scanner, radars, etc. Alfred Drake
NineTailed
I'm looking to get a max, but will only have enough for a stock 'lancer unless I melt my BMW 3-series in space. BMichaelG

NineTailed
You very well might have something like that. It's a viable option sticking the parts from each onto the max. They did say the freelancer was modular in that regard, correct? Sent from my Lumia 710 using Tapatalk
Judah Warrior
I bought a Dur luv it & would def recommend it if you plan to do any long distance travelling even as a bounty hunter i think it's much needed.
Ford_Prefect
I have the DUR, I'm going to use it as my solo playing ship to go exploring but I also considered using it as a long distance hauler. The cargo-space isn't that bad compared to the original Freelancer (148 units compared to 168 units), considered the tradeoff for expanded fule-tanks, enhanced jump drive, long range scanners and a shield upgrade. Stats may change though. I just have to get more precious cargo to make the trip worthwhile. I also considered that I won’t have that much cash to start with so I might not be able to fill the cargo space anyway. I just lover the inside of the Freelancer, it feels so "used" compared to other ships that are way to clean in my opinion. Im going to fill my cockpit with bobbleheads and shit to really make me feel at home =D. Judah Warrior and maxxratt
ChiefWarrant
I am on the fence on this one guys. I own the Aquila for exploring, but you guys raise interesting points. I can use the DUR for long range hauls with reduce signature and scanners to avoid enemies. Is it worth owning two explorer ships?
maxxratt
I too am a proud owner of the DUR, and for all the same reasons you list too. I can't wait to get out there.
Harry the Hipster
Going to buy a DUR this anniversary sale. Looks like a cool ship and you can enjoy playing with a friend. Also my first exploration ship and the cargo capacity for rare goods will make me feel a han solo in PU. maxxratt
eNeRGy
The cargo-space isn't that bad compared to the original Freelancer (148 units compared to 168 units) Though in the desc it says 25% reduced cargo size, so these numbers seem like they could easily change, I do agree that it's a small loss for the cool upgrades And I just sold off my Connie, so I'm thinking I could use a small bit of the funds I got from that to upgrade my base Lancer. Mister_Spud
Would you say upgrading from a 315p to a freelancer DUR is a good deal. Money wise?.
ThorGuardian
Would you say upgrading from a 315p to a freelancer DUR is a good deal. Money wise?. It really depends, I think the 300i will be good just because it's a starter ship so you can get used to game mechanics, if you feel confident enough that you won't make expensive mistakes early game then go for the DUR as it's just an overall better equipped ship for the job
Nip
I think the DUR will be one of the best solo exploration ships all around. It's pretty well armed, has beds (to log out in space) and it's fairly small, able to get through smaller jump points.
