I have been giving thought into melting my hammerhead for the Polaris. I know I want to gear towards combat at first and both have roles at which they excel at in. The Hammerhead I see for escort, fleet guard/shield, fighter screen or could use as a small command with a group of fighters. The Polaris seems to have that more multi-function beyond its roll as a heavy hitter for larger ships, having a larger storage capacity, can carry a small ship, has a medium to close range fighter screen also, room for more sub-systems. I figured maintenance cost would be a large factor, bigger ship bigger target, high risk factor. I guess really what I'm asking is I like to bring something to the table that would be useful in more of a variety if I so choose to go beyond my main focus of combat. I know both can be useful and missions can found that benefit having one or multiple of them in it.

Hello Everyone, So I was poking around on YouTube recently when I came across this video. As I'm currently waiting for my new PC to arrive, I've been away from the game for a bit and completely forgot about this new mechanic being implemented. This got me thinking. As we move forward toward 3.3, we will undoubtedly see new iterations or improvements to this mechanic. Seeing the tactical benefits of this feature, I couldn't help but apply this concept to the Hammerhead. Of course it will have its drawbacks but IF used sparingly, this would be a nasty feature for the turret gunners to utilize on the Hammerhead. I can't help but think this would be extremely useful when it comes to defending against torpedos. Retaliator and Eclipse bombers stand the biggest threat against the Hammerhead. If paired with a Polaris (with its capital radar), this could further solidify the effectiveness of the duo. Thoughts?

Hello Everyone, Zarian here fresh off this week's ATV. While there was A LOT of information presented, I wanted to skip ahead toward the end...more specifically, the part about the Hammerhead. Fast forward to 39:00, please. Unless my ears are deceiving me, Jared said "the Hammerhead is in full production". If that's true, that would be absolutely mind blowing considering the ship was released on concept almost two months ago! That is insane! I'm really amazed at how far CIG has come in their refinement of the ship pipeline. When you think about it, ships like the Redeemer and Idris are some of the biggest names that a lot of us have been waiting for (and still haven't seen in-game). But to now know that the Hammerhead and the 600i are so far into production, this soon, wow. At this rate, if all goes well, I can see both ships in our hands by this year's anniversary... or Christmas, at the earliest. Jared also mentioned the Hammerhead being in the "kitbashing" stage. A point in production where materials are taken from another similar-themed ship to help speed up the process. In this case, the Idris. It would be crazy if we could have this ship in our hands this year or the beginning of next year. Like all things with CIG, there are (and will be) bumps, but I still remain optimistic. For anyone with better knowledge of the ship pipeline, what are your thoughts? How soon do you see some of these making it out of the pipeline and into our hands?

Ok y'all, I need some advice. With this year's anniversary sale, I took full advantage of the funds that I set aside for it. I bought 6 Hammerheads, 1 Polaris and a range of other fighters and ground vehicles. I didn't really care to look at MISC, but something told me just take a look. I'm glad I did because holy cow, the Hull E is available!! Now I'm torn... Do I melt a Hammerhead and pick up the E? Or do I just wait and pick it up at the Christmas sale or at the next anniversary sale? Grrrrrr! Damn you, CIG! LoL
