  4. What kind of people will Consolidated Amalgamated appeal to? If you are one of those people who wants to do some combat mission running or PvP in a group with large, powerful support ships and ground attack vehicles then... Sorry, let’s try this again, if you want to be part of a group that claims vast holdings on alien worlds and then helps build that org’s own custom settlements... Oh, wait, no if you’re one of those who likes the sound of deep space salvage or mining we... No, hold on, if you really are looking forward to running a science, agriculture, or medical station complete with ambulance on a capital sized starship in... Hm, no sorry, what I meant to say was if you are dying to try edge-of-known-space exploration in the hope of finding new jump points and... One sec, "Hey! Hand me that wrench! We've got a line of broken ships to repair here before..." Wait, really the thing is if your dream is putting the pilot’s cap on and greeting your passengers while you run a giant starliner between ports to... Argh me matey, 'tis really s'posed to be readin' that if ye be lookin' forward to a little bit of the pirate booty, (ahem) or some smuggling, or even just legal bulk and specialty cargo running... Well, really it's if searching seedy bars for the specific scumbag you have the bounty to collect on is... No, if you want to cruise the Empire in the lap of luxury on Origin’s top super yacht while playing host to the rich and famous, then you have definitely found the right corporation. TL;DR - WE HAVE THE SHIPS TO DO IT ALL. SCROLL DOWN FOR FLEET GRAPHIC. Okay, the nitty gritty: We are a small group of mid 20s through late 40s US-based folks (across all US time zones) who are long time MMO gamers, and right now we're ship-rich and people-poor. As we get closer to beta there are old friends who will be joining us, but with our current fleet and desire to try it all we'd really like to make some new good friends. We're not looking for many, and we're looking for a specific kind of person. Who you are doesn't matter, we are completely open and accepting of all people, it's what you want out of the game that will determine if we're the right fit for you. If you're wanting a smaller, tight-knit group of folks who just want to have fun in the verse and who have the resources to basically try anything in the game from day one, then hop on our website and, if you like what you see, fill out an application. Or, hop on our Discord and either chat or leave us a message. We want some new folks who are as excited about this game and its potential as we are. I've got an image of our current organizational fleet posted at the bottom so you can see our ships, and of course a martini glass. Let's get this party started. If you don’t have Discord I think you’ll like it. You can get it here: https://discordapp.com/download And you can join the CONAM server here: https://discord.gg/rnBehBj We're still gaining steam, so if we're not on just shout out and we'll see it later. the H/M/C tabs on our website contain a little more information about us... https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/CONAM ... and the Spectrum CONAM forum is a place you can read through past discussions. I invite you to check it out by clicking the link below! https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/CONAM Looking forward to seeing you in the 'verse! =D
  5. All, I've been putting together a short map over the last few days describing an orienteering approach to find the Drug Lab on Yela. Most of the other content and guides I've seen rely on triangulation (which is extremely difficult due to the extreme small size of the target). This guide shows how to use known and distinctive landmarks to quickly and efficiently fly to the Drug Lab. In fact, I know find the Drug Lab much easier to locate than the Javelin. (To be fair, I've made this run more than 10 times now). This location is difficult to find in any condition other than full sunlight. It also only renders at 7km (but you need to zoom to even see it) and does not become visible to a ship in motion until about 2km. The Yela Drug Lab offers for sale two types of banned narcotics that can be sold to Grim Hex or Levski. It also produces alcohol. The profit margins on these substances is very high, however, the quantity that can be had is very low. You will not fill a Freelancer to even 1/3 of capacity. This makes this trade location ideal for those of us running Auroras, Mustangs, Avengers, and Reliants. https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/10cQBy7Z4ZRGzrXaJsPdjSAAAomY62UbasJHTJWjAVFc/edit?usp=sharing I'd like to continue to refine these kinds of guides, so please leave any feedback below.
  6. How many of you recall this line from the stretch goals? Star Citizen will feature an additional alien race, the Kr’Thak. This line is from the 4.5 million stretch goal. Star Citizen has ballooned in scope since the first Kickstarter launch, but, looking at development today, they seem to be keeping to stretch goals as much as they can. I find it interesting that they've introduced the Vanduul, the Xi'an, and the Banu, but we've only heard rumours about the Kr'Thak, a race promised quite early in the game's concept... What gives? It's likely that this species is either still in production, or under wraps due to lore reasons. I believe in the later, which is further supported by a little googling. The SC wiki has a little on the Kr'Thak and notably states that they are the enemies of the Xi'An and are on the other side of their empire. They are space-faring, own at least a few systems, and have held their own in a conflict lasting at least 700 years... at least, as far as we know. All this seems canon from a number of sources. So how can we contextualize this within the greater 'verse? Well, let's take a look at the Starmap. It's been a while, eh? The Xi'an control 12 systems that we know of. They could easily control more, considering the size of Vanduul and UEE space. So, even if the Kr'Thak are not very proliferant, they would likely control several systems - say, maybe 6 or more? Any less would be insufficient to hold up versus another interstellar civilization, IMO. So, what do you guys think? Would it be cool to explore in reaches unknown to make contact with this mysterious race? What systems will we have to explore and travel through to get to the Kr'Thak? Would you like to participate in an expedition to find out more? Finally, this really emphasizes that the Starmap is just the beginning. What's already there is mind-boggling. Just how much more does Chris Roberts have planned hiding along the outskirts?
  7. Friends. You can journey to the center of an Asteroid. Yes, you heard that right. There is an alternate dimension inside of Delmar. Its full of stars. To achieve this multi-dimensional travel you must first get into the hangar bays at Levski, It has worked with both Hangar 1 and Hangar 2, not sure about the others. In the hallway leading to the elevators you must jump over the railing at the sides. Don't worry, you won't be hurt on landing (or at least, I wasn't). Alternatively, spawn a struggle-bus and fly that over the edge. I recommend you are very familiar with strafe controls if you take a struggle-bus. Once you've navigated to the bottom, you should see something like this: Should you fly through that, you'll find your destiny. Now, once you've found yourself here; have no fear. You can escape by flying back out through the planet in any direction you want. Now, you can actually get a Dragonfly into the Grand Barter, but the only time Weehamster and I succeeded was the time that we ended up achieving escape velocity, flying through the barter, and out the otherside into destiny. Other experiments were ruled failures. Thanks @Weehamsterfor your brave efforts. EDIT: Second method: forget all the nonsense about the hole, just fly over the edge of the landing platforms and down through the bottom. Now to see how big a ship i can get in here.
  8. The Republic of Vagabundo

Hi All, The Republic of Vagabundo is an up-and-coming, heavily active Star Citizen organisation. We are building a new Republic separate and independent from the UEE, Xi'an, Banu etc. To do this we need all types of players: from miners to soldiers. We have six divisions to help us achieve this: - Science and Exploration - Trade and Transport - Naval and Military - Diplomatic and Political - Medical - Affairs Each is led by two people, generally a Director and Deputy Director. They are members of The Admiralty, our Council. We conduct large operations which include most of, or all, of these departments. For example, if we want to find and inhabit a planet, we will: 1. Send out a team from the Science and Exploration division to find candidate planets. 2. Once viable candidate has been located, we will send our Endeavour to the planet. 3. Dispatch Military platoons to secure the site (with support from Medics). 4. After exploration and research gathering is complete, colonisation will begin. Overseen by Affairs and Diplomatic and Political. (All ferrying is executed by Trade and Transport) We would love for you to join our organisation. It doesn't matter if you've been a backer for five years, or have just enlisted, we'd love to have you on-board. All our members share a passion in Star Citizen, and we hope you do too. If you'd like to join us follow this link: www.robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/custodians Everything happens on Discord, so you can find us there: https://discord.gg/4jBtfXt Best wishes, Gabriel Brown Ambassador of The Republic of Vagabundo
  9. Hi, I've been out of the SC loop for quite a while now but with the coming of 3.0 I decided to get into the game again. A couple of weeks ago I planned which direction I wanted to go with the game and it was exploration. When I first joined I had a redeemer and was aiming for combat ops, which now has changed. I want to join the main exploration squadron (or part, section, department etc) here at imperium but I can't seem to find out how to actually join a squadron. I'm posting this here because I assume that the answer is simple and that it is just me not understanding how it's done. Thanks in advance, P. R
  10. Group Conversation

Hello its Destra and i wanna bring up a Conversation everyone can be involved with i hope to see a lot of Fun talk in the Chat But i wanna talk about what Do you WANT in the Star citizen Universe. I wanna see Horror.. and dynamic Fights for survival against Deadly Alien Creatures like the alien Movies, But hey that's just meee. what would you guys like to see them implement into the game that would blow you away. something like Tank battles over a moon? or a Massacre over a station? Planetary sieges? No matter how old you are everyone has their niche what they Love. some people might wanna just lay back in there chair listen to the star citizen radio while trading, getting the latest news on the universe. you know this game is gonna be the best, better than anyone expected. it will be a long wait, but my optimism is high for this game, and i have faith in it. won't be just another Triple A game Riddled with DLC's.. pay 60$ for half a game then another 60$ In the DLc's to finish it for something they already made. but held back on so you have to pay for it. Cause to be honest i'm sick of that Bull****. But i wanted to make this thread to truly see everyone's wants and dreams into this game. Tell me, give Pictures, Be Detailed have fun and talk about your expectations. why did you pledge? are you sick of the gaming industry ripping you off? what you think this game can take off of other games or movies, what scenarios you wanna see happen? Just like me?, and want horror, let me know, tell me what ya wanna see when you're in a dark abandoned station that's hiding in the shadows. haha look forwards to reading them
  11. Military Exploration

I was just wondering, i suppose mostly to the more senior players or people who closely follow the development of SC; What kind of military exploration would we do? If any. I ask because i'm pretty torn between the Hornet Tracker and the Freelancer DUR and I am just not sure which to pick. But I do want to be in the military so I would like to know which is more useful for our purposes.
  12. Terrapin as explorer

What do you guys think of having the Terrapin as an explorer? Is there a more suiteble ship or is it good enough? Give me some feedback
  13. Reclaimer and Nostromo

A lot of people tend to forget the original design behind the Reclaimer, and this only solidifies the description. "Dedicated salvage AND exploration". In a way the ship is more valuable than the Carrack because it can also make money.
  14. Elite Dangerous Exploration

I hope that SC exploration is like this. Obviously more interactions such as planet wildlife, aliens and random encounters, derelict ships and stations etc.
  15. Oceania org SKY-TEK

Recruitment is now open for Oceania based players. SKY-TEK is intended to provide an umbrella structure covering different play styles and goals, while maintaining a legal approach to all operations. This means that government-sanctioned bounties against “public enemies” and pirates are both legitimate, whereas piracy is not. SKY-TEK’s primary focus will be “Sec-Ops” (Security Operations), but acknowledges that a broad income base is required for stability and growth. These verticals are intended to work together towards the common goal of lawful profit, and may include sub-operations focused on areas such as: Salvage, Search, and Rescue Industry and Manufacturing Trade and Freight Exploration and Cartography For full details of the SKY-TEK charter, visit us at http://skytk.org/sky-tek-charter or see our RSI page https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/SKYTEK All Members must be over 20 years of age and have a Mature attitude. Please be aware that we are an Australian based Star Citizen organisation and would prefer if only players from the Oceania region apply for membership. The reason for this is simply to avoid connection issues and lag caused by high-ping. All members must provide a full API key for vetting upon application. This is non-negotiable. SKY-TEK maintains Discord and TeamSpeak channels for members. Details will be provided to you once membership has been vetted and accepted.
  16. Scout Ships

Hi guys I've got a question: I'm planning to upgrade my 315p soon to get ready for 3.0 and want to move into a forward scout/commander role in Imperium. Any advice for the best ships for the job? p.s. I think maybe something like the Hornet Tracker might be a good idea... Thanks
  17. Our structure is as follows: #1: Leader #2: Co-Leader #3: Profession Leader #4: Profession Member #5: Profession Fill-in #6: Independent With this structure, we allow as many profession leaders as possible to manage their own squadron. Should you want to be focused on mining you can star off as a Mining Member and eventually become a leader of your own crew. This goes for all types of professions. As for capital ship owners, maintaining a capital sized ship will be a profession on its own. An example of a #3 could be a Polaris captain with their own #4's as Polaris Crew Members. Should anyone not want to focus their attention towards a specific profession, they can always do what they like. If someone knows that they wan't to always do their own thing, they can remain as "Independent" and progress on their own liking but still under the umbrella of the org. With that being said, Self Made would like for all of you to consider applying and earning your own way among like minded individuals. Our goal is mutual benefit for all and to retaliate against any that would initiate force upon others. We uphold honor, integrity, and justice among the verse. Should you have any questions, feel free to ask. You can find our history in progress, manifesto, and charter on our RSI Org page here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/1905 Should anyone be thinking about getting the game Star Citizen, you can always make an account now and purchase later. There is no need to buy the game when making an account. We are currently more focused on hiring leaders of professions more than anything as of now. We currently do have a Polaris captain but would like to find dedicated mining leaders, cargo run leaders, and exploration leaders as such. Thank you for checking us out, we hope to build a strong community of Self Made Men. Good day to all, and may the Verse be with you.
  18. Hi, as many others I'm considering melting all my stuff to get the exploration mega pack. My current hangar looks like this; - Rear Admiral Package - Super Hornet LTI - Orion LTI Melting these ships and packages will land me at $815 and the Exploration Mega Pack is $895 I will loose the orion and the superhornet which is my biggest consern, but I dont know... I will collect more ships for the return, what do you consider the most "valuable" choice here? - Thanks
  19. DUR vs Terrapin vs Aquila

So, I'm trying to figure out why someone would prefer the Terrapin over the other options. In the lineup of exploration ships, I see it fitting somewhere between the DUR and the Aquila so have been mostly looking to compare versus them. Price wise, it is almost exactly in the middle of the two. But, size and crew wise, it seems closer to the DUR. Looking at the stats (always undependable at this stage but a good 'guess') and description, it seems the Terrapin will be slower but better armored than a DUR. Armament seems kind of close at this point. All the exploration ships seem to emphasize flexibility but in different ways. The DUR and Aquila seem to go towards hauling whereas the Terrapin towards S&R. The crew requirements for the DUR and Terrapin seem to be both at 2. It looks like the DUR can take either a Dragonfly or Greycat in the back for planetary exploration. Have they said if the Terrapin will? Did I miss something? What are other folks' opinions on why you would select the Terrapin over the DUR?
  20. Find our corporation homepage here! What is Galactic Astrometrics? GANJ is a casual corporation dedicated to offering opportunities for work and career expansion in Exploration, Scouting, and Fringe-service activities. We rely on the members of this Corporation to improve and upkeep the library of active fringe jump networks. Outside of basic exploration, we encourage our enlisted members to perform services on paid mission basis', which include Research and Rescue, Medical assistance, Refueling and Scouting/Patrol of allied trade routes. Our main source of income is providing these services for clients and allied organizations. We are a proud member of Cognition Corporation, a network of hundreds of organizations. For our main members, we will provide priority access to *paid* (UEE) missions based on contracts taken from allied organizations. Since this is a casual corporation we do not require the general populace to remain active, nor do we require main membership status to join. We do expect great maturity from our members, and no racism, sexism or discrimination of any kind will be tolerated. A hierarchical voting system Each of our ranks are given different amounts of votes; Voting sessions will take place at the beginning of the month following the announcement of prospective legislation. When voting, different ranks will have different voting powers: Admirals - 6 votes Captains - 6 votes Commanders - 5 votes Lieutenants - 4 votes Ensigns - 2 votes Crewmen - 1 vote If the member is an officer of any kind, they shall be assigned an additional 2 votes. (Not to be stacked) Ranks and Roles: Fleet Admiral (1) A single 'Fleet Admiral' will maintain the corporation by creating legislation to vote on, but cannot take place in voting sessions. Fleet Admirals to not have a specified maximum amount of time to act in office, but may be removed from their post if a vote calls for such an action. Admiral (5+) An 'Admiral' takes place in a preliminary voting session before other members. (Able to veto proposals with 75% veto votes) Admirals are voted on by everyone with equal voting power [1 vote for each spot] every 2 months. Requirement for an Admiral position is being at or above the rank of Lieutenant. The number of Admirals is not to exceed 5% of the corporations population. (Not including the fleet admiral) Admirals also organize missions and dispatch Captains or Commanders. Funding for official missions is provided by the corporation. Captain Typically lead parties of ships on sensitive missions. If a Captain wishes to take corporation members to complete an unofficial or private mission, a Captain must fund 50% of the mission expense. Captains may promote or demote members based on certain guidelines. A group of 10 Captains may submit legislation, which cannot be vetoed by Admirals, directly to the voting polls. Commander Commanders typically accompany Captains on missions, or may be assigned a leader role on a mission if they are deemed sufficiently trained. Commanders may propose promotions/demotions, as well as submit formal mission proposals. Lieutenant Lieutenants are granted two additional votes on general polls, relative to Ensigns. Lieutenants are the first rank capable of selecting specific contracts. First rank capable of being promoted to Admiral by voting. Ensign At this rank, the member must agree to perform direct orders made by Captains and Admirals while partaking in missions. Insubordination will be penalized according to guidelines. Crewman A standard member, has no special duties or abilities. Typically it is a crewman's job to make themselves appear fit for more intense duty (promotion). Promotions Currently there are several methods of increasing your likelihood of rank growth, including but not limited to: Keeping Galactic Astrometrics and Nexus of Jump-points' affiliation as your main organization. Scoring in the top 10% in any Arena Commander leaderboard. Removing GANJ as a redacted/hidden affiliation Joining in on org flight days. Completing the membership survey. The membership survey can be found here. Introducing yourself on the GANJ corporation forum thread. Our forum thread can be accessed here. Maintaining activity on the forums/Discord server Our Discord server can be accessed here. Adding the corporation banner to your forum signature The banner can be found here. A guide on how to change your forum signature is here. Official Missions/Contracts: Admirals will negotiate, approve or deny contract requests submitted by organizations or individuals. These missions will be carried out by members of the corporation, however missions cannot be ordered, a member always has a choice to perform the mission or not. Whenever members from the corporation are hired for a mission they will always be paid, but must always adhere to protocol while on the mission. Members with the rank of Lieutenant or above will be given access to all available contracts for GANJ. Members below the rank of Lieutenant (Crewman or Ensign) will still be given opportunities to take part in missions whenever possible, however they will only be offered contracts (therefore cannot choose specific contracts and are not given access to the contract database). This is done to prevent sensitive or private information from leaking, and to maintain the reputation of GANJ. Restricted Contracts are contracts in which the details are kept confidential. Typically these contracts bring greater UEE rewards and higher likelihood of rank growth if completed successfully. Breaching the confidentiality agreement of a restricted contract is grounds for suspension or even permanent termination depending on severity.
  21. Returning Exploration member.

Hey all. Long time no talk to everyone! Came back after about 2 years of being gone because not a lot was happening over at CIG. Was thinking about it the other day, and dusted off my RSI and SCB credentials to poke around a bit. Holy crap! The new SCB is amazing! I love what people have been doing with the Portal! So question... is the Explo division doing anything much in-game yet? I know the PU is still a ways away, but I am curious to see if any of the theorycrafting I laid out in the original NOMADs whitepaper holds true. Speaking of... any other player-created docs about exploring pop up? I'd love to read them. Also, is there any meetings on TS or something for Explo guys that I should be aware of coming up? Feels good to post here again, lol. Cheers all, look forward to talking with everyone!

  23. Who are we? We here at BRTD are an English speaking gaming community, originally formed at the release of Planetside 1 in 2003. Our membership greatly consists of those who have joined us through playing the Planetside series over our 14 year span. However we now look to expand our community into the Star Citizen Universe and to find others to who share our visions and join us. The majority of our members are those from the UK/EU, while still hosting quite a number of players from around the world. Our community's focus is to create a fun, casual, and rewarding environment for all our players, all-while ensuring we have the ability to knuckle down and get serious for when it is needed and during our events/operations. These ideals have given way for our mantra; "Have fun and get shit done". Game faces on for ops, kick back and relax at other times. Structure Due to our large number of members and the diversity Star Citizen provides, we have opted to create two organisations each with its own play style. Even though these organisations will be different from each other, they will be able to support each other if needed. In BRTD we want to give our members the option to be fluid to what suits them when ever, so switching between the two is welcomed at anytime. Better Red Than Dead - Planetary & Space Based Military Operations, Private Military Company, Anti-Piracy Militia, Trade and Logistics BRTD will be our main branch, carrying on our militaristic history from Planetside. As such it will be primarily acting as a mix of Private Military Company and militia, with a secondary focus on establishing and maintaining trade networks. If anyone is looking for combat, whether it be; assaulting hostile forces on the ground, boarding and disabling enemy vessels, engaging in small-to-large fleet battles, searching and eliminating pirates and bounties, or operating and supporting fleet operations through trade and transportation - this branch of our community will be for you. Organisation page link: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/BRTD Silverwolf - Exploration, Science & Research, Colonisation, Scouting & Reconnaissance Silverwolf will be our organisation for those interested in less combat-intensive roles in Star Citizen (how-ever combat capable people are still required for fleet protection). The organisation's mission is to go out into the great unknowns of the universe and to make fascinating discoverers to bring back home to the people of the UEE. If you have a taste for discovery, capable of travelling the deep black for months at a time, or desire to open up a new frontier on distant worlds - then Silverwolf is for you! Organisation page link: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/Silverwolf What we can offer Organised gameplay - during operations, we aim to work as one to achieve our goals Outside of ops, all other activities are encouraged - non combative roles will support the organisation and grow the community Dedicated forums and a 400-user mumble server for voice comms Staying power - we're a long-standing community of over 10 years - we wont be disappearing any time soon Mature (18+), relaxed, but determined gaming community Our current Fleet Here is our current fleet from members who have pledged. Our fleet will be able to accommodate a large variety of crew positions to those interested! (30th August 2017 fleet roster)

  25. End game exploration

I am going to be an avid explorer in the 'verse, and I have an endeavour suited to that purpose with the science, telescope and fuel modules (plus the hangar and hospital modules for when I want to be a true team player). I really like the idea of captaining a capital ship at the centre of an exploration fleet; with other members of the org. However; I also want to be able to go extreme distances whenever even when the fleet cannot be assembled and to be able to explore without massive dependency on other ships. I have a mustang beta; but that has no cargo and no jump point scanners and is only really useful when in the hangar of my endeavour or for basic exploration. So should I get a carrack instead as I do not have enough money to get both ( I am going to get a pc that can run sc without lag); so which one should I choose?
