A few weeks ago on Around the Verse, we mentioned an upcoming Drake Interplanetary ship, and while the name has jumped around between a few choices, we’re happy to say we’re moving into the initial planning stages for the new Drake Buccaneer. We have a good idea on how we want it to handle and perform, and we’re keeping the loadout details as a surprise until the full concept treatment has been completed, but we want to involve you, the community, in pulling together some reference images for visual inspiration for the ship. Additionally, since this ship is still in the very early stages of the design, we’re going to keep new thread creation locked in this subforum until we’re closer to an actual concept release. We’ll definitely want to hear all of your feedback on the Buccaneer when we reveal all the details, but for now, we’re just pulling together reference images. Please keep this in mind when contributing to the thread. Now, since it can be hard to get inspired on just a name, here are the details we can share right now: • Single-Pilot craft with no interior. • Fast and Maneuverable, under a pure racer in speed, but handles well at high speed. • Roughly the same size as a Sabre. • Pairs well with the Cutlass or Caterpillar as an escort fighter. • Extreme reliability, exceptional ease of maintenance. For the next few weeks, pour whatever images come to mind or inspire you when thinking of this ship. We’ll be keeping an eye on the thread to help get a feel for the style this ship will be taking. There’s no cut-off on this yet since we’re just starting into the design on the ship, so toss out whatever you think works. From there, we’ll look over all of the images posted, as well as anything we may find along the way towards concept to help inspire and drive the look and feel of this ship. Drake - Dragonfly

Ben just revealed on RTV that the Drake Dragonfly is official (we have been pushing for it and it has been a CIG dev favorite for awhile) .... so as of today... we know it will be.... Drake - Dragonfly Now we know it is an official ship.... More info to follow as we get info on the Specs and Concept Art Drake Dragonfly: You don’t so much as climb into the Dragonfly as you do put it on around you. In short, it’s the closest thing to strapping an engine and a weapons mount to your spacesuit… or, as the advertising campaign claims, it’s the closest thing to riding the vacuum yourself. Occupying somewhere in the pantheon between a snub fighter and an Aurora, the Dragonfly is a speedy, maneuverable ultralight designed to be cheaply constructed in large numbers and to be readily customized by hobbyists. Dragonfly’s have become the favorite of a particular brand of enthusiast that frequently gather together to share their modifications, off-track race… and other less legitimate “hobbies.” Drake Dragonfly confirmed for one of the next concept ship sales. + F42 working on Dragonfly 4.22 m into vid Also added this to the RSI thread --- See link --- >>> Drake - Dragonfly - Concept Sale Price [POLL]

    Drake Vulture

Drake Vulture Drake Vulture Concept Art https://i.imgur.com/WmNDsLG.gifv From Concierge e-mail YOUR SHIP, YOUR SKY There's an unmistakable grace to watching a sunrise on a remote desert moon, knowing that you're the only living soul for hundreds of thousands of kilometers... From its inception, Drake has always supported the spirit of freedom. That willingness to push the limits and defy the odds, and the belief that anyone and everyone deserves a shot at reaching the stars. As we look to a bright new future for our company, and a return to those core values, we also look to you, the pilots - the real backbone of the aerospace industry. We asked you what you wanted. And you know what we heard? The true voice of Drake. The hard-working men and women of the UEE. Folks who just want to make an honest living, and maybe make a difference in their own unique way. We here at Drake proudly salute this spirit as we unveil the Vulture, a light industrial salvage vessel that lets you do you. Rip wrecks apart like a pro without the cumbersome hardware and multi-crew rigmarole of a larger ship. Answer to no one, cut out the middleman, and throw caution to the wind. In a Vulture, you can pick up the lucrative scraps of larger operations, run the regular trade circuits fast and light, or hit the open sky and carve out your own place in the great big empty. There's a certain beauty to the silent serenity of a ship graveyard, a calm comfort to a wreck suspended in the most secluded corner of the void. Sure it can get lonesome out there, but sometimes all you need is you. Well, you and your Drake Vulture. Just DO YOU Dare to throw caution to the wind and tame the open sky in the Vulture - YOUR Drake ship. 5. During Happy Hour the devs were mainly just brainstorming ideas for a new Drake ship to add to the lineup. Viewers were allowed to vote on the 'name' of 2 potential ships as well as a Viewer's Choice third entry (and name). The viewer's choice from today's live stream was the Drake Kraken 'Scout Carrier'. Final vote is up on the RSI forums and can be found here: >> YOU Pick the Next Drake Ship << A. ENTRY-LEVEL DRAKE SALVAGE SHIP (CODE NAME: VULTURE) A one man salvage starter ship, no drones but plenty of on-board storage to help with EVA salvage operations (space for cutters, charges etc) and space in a separate area to store/process the recovered salvage. Mostly designed for the player to EVA out and do the salvage, rather than sit inside and do it with tractor beams/lasers. Small enough to sneak into hostile areas unnoticed to recover fresh salvage. B. MULTI-CREW DRAKE EXPLORER (CODE NAME: CORSAIR) Drake’s competitor to the Constellation, the rough and ready multi-crew explorer. Differs from the 600i by its crude basic construction and from the Constellation by its lower missile count, but with a third turret to make up for it. Able to transport a vehicle and cargo (think extended/up-scaled Cutlass rear area) faster and more nimble than the others, but like all Drake ships pretty paper thin. C. DRAKE SCOUT CARRIER (CODE NAME: KRAKEN) Drake’s capital ship entry, space to park and store a few medium ships (up to Freelancer-sized) and transport them around the verse. Serves as a mobile truck stop in function with a small hub of stores (some less than legit) to help restock.
  6. At 35m Ben reveals the name likely for the Pirate Interceptor concept ship as the Monarch Please vote for the price you think CIG should set for the upcoming Drake Monarch (Pirate Interceptor) Also post any comments or new info about the ship on this thread and I will update it as well with new info as given by CIG. +++ See and vote in the Sister Thread = for additional sampling on the RSI forums
  7. Ben just revealed on RTV that the new Pirate Interceptor (for those that wanted more of a fighter instead of the Cutlass - which is also more of a freighter) will be.... I'll edit out "Official Now" from the title later on. Drake - Buccaneer - Interceptor Ben just revealed on RTV that the Buccaneer will be the next concept sale - and we will learn more next week. The sale will be in Late May Ben (as new news) revealed at first it would be the "Monarch".... as proposed by the Writers...... but in their CIG meeting they decided to rename it the "Buccaneer"..... but we also found out they were considering "Corsair" Now we know it is an official ship.... More info to follow as we get info on the Specs and Concept Art From a non-ship thread - copying over what we know so far... 8. The following was shared by CIG Matt Sherman: • Single-Pilot craft with no interior.• Fast and Maneuverable, under a pure racer in speed, but handles well at high speed.• Roughly the same size as a Sabre.• Pairs well with the Cutlass or Caterpillar as an escort fighter.• Extreme reliability, exceptional ease of maintenance. Source: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/318800 My speculation - since it's sabre-sized, the prize could be roughly the same as the sabre... ~$150-175

  10. I am new to the forums, and was looking to see how many of you own a Red cutlasses, and maybe looking to play a heavy role in a medical field of the PU. I for one really am drawn into this occupation, and think it will be a key occupation to master. I have played medic roles in many FPS, and MMO's, but not at this level. I can really see the importance to a Medic on the battle field. I plan to get a Endeavor Hope class Hospital ship, or what ever ship they decided to make an Hospital class ship. I feel to have a hope class ship/ Red Cutlass crew near by to patch up your org. members when injured will be a valuable tool to have. People will get injured, and if they hope to live long in this game you will need to get patched up quickly. I just was wondering if there was a lot of people here that would like to go into a more dedicated medic role in Imperium.

  12. Raid Commander: The Drake Caterpillar The Ark Visual Archive Presents A Millennium of Memories: Photos in Flight The top 500 iconic images from the last thousand years of traveling the stars. #088: Last Sight Date: 2942-02-03 SET Photographer: Alia Shakti The latest addition to this collection of imagery, this photograph comes with a tragic origin. Alia Shakti boarded the luxury cruiser, Bartholomew, bound for Goss as a present for achieving her Equivalency. After only a few days of travel, the Bartholomew disappeared from local scans. When the wreckage was finally found, there were no survivors. Advocacy analysts were able to extract this image from Alia Shakti’s mobiGlas. It captures the moment before the attack and identified members of the vicious pirate pack Argul Dawn as the culprits who surprised and boarded the ship. When Advocacy Agents finally tracked down and arrested members of the pack, it was this photo that was used in their trial. The seven captured members were then sentenced to twenty-five years on QuarterDeck, while this picture continues to remind us of the fragility of life and how a journey can quickly turn from exhilaration to terror. Drake Caterpillar - Anniversary - Standalone Ship $245.00 USD Available more info Buy Now Raid Commander: The Drake Caterpillar Caterpillar beauty render What makes the Caterpillar cool? The phrase ‘fighting transport’ may seem like a contradiction in terms, but it’s accurate here! The Caterpillar is intended to be the centerpiece of pirate raids in the Star Citizen world. Imagine teaming up with your friends to attack a shipping convoy: a squadron of Cutlasses for cover and interdiction, a Herald for Electronic Warfare duties and a Caterpillar for the dirty work. The Caterpillar is highly modular, and can be configured for a number of different roles… even the command pod detaches for a quick getaway. The ‘Cat is also intended as a platform for boarding operations. Pirates can martial their shock troops aboard the ship and then force their way onto larger targets like frigates and cruisers! Caterpillar beauty render. Where is the Caterpillar in development? The Caterpillar was concepted by Jim Martin, who has also created the MISC Freelancer and the Drake Herald. Jim has created a 3D concept model of the Caterpillar and has done extensive explorations of the interior. He’s even done some special work on cargo loading and landing gear processes! The next step is to bring the Caterpillar into the CryEngine, which we plan to do with or after Arena Commander 2.0. (Since the Caterpillar’s role is more specific than simply being a fighting ship, players will get the most out of it once the persistent universe alpha launches.) Unlike the Starfarer, which is used in the first chapter of Squadron 42, the Caterpillar is scheduled to wait until after the multi-crew ship functionality is perfected. Initial Catgerpillar sketches What inspired the Caterpillar? Early on in Star Citizen’s campaign, we learned an important lesson: people want to be pirates! This lead to the creation of Drake Interplanetary and the Cutlass… and ultimately the Caterpillar. The ship itself came into being with a simple phrase: “the Starfarer’s evil twin.” (Chris Roberts’ original Wing Commander having set the standard for including both a tanker and a transport.) While we know some will pride themselves for conducting raids with standard civilian equipment, we know that a big part of piracy can be showing off (re: eye patches and parrots.) The name and the ‘industrial’ look of the ship were inspired by modern day construction equipment: with the Caterpillar, we want to create a world where ships are tools rather than just beautiful designs to be placed on pedestals. Caterpillar crew compartment. Original Description Drake maintains that the Caterpillar, a sprawling, modular spacecraft which appears at least somewhat like its namesake, is for legitimate commerce and extended search and rescue missions… but at the end of the day, the Caterpillar is truly the evil twin of the Freelancer. Designed for supporting pirate operations, the Caterpillar features a large cargo hold for carrying loot, heavier armor than other freighters in its class and room for five crew able to serve in boarding operations. Despite its heavier armor, the Caterpillar isn’t a bulldog… a successful operation will require a fighter escort. 13. Seems they have a fesh reveal planned for the herald link below finally CIG doing something really special :3 https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14249-UEE-Intercepted-Signal-The-Drake-Herald-Threat i always wanted to be armed and dangerous Technical details Knowledge is power, and one of the most valuable commodities is pure information: the 1s and 0s behind everything from UEC ledgers to Citizenship ratings. Whether it’s colonists struggling to stay in contact with the UEE’s central worlds or criminals trading in illicit data, there will always be a need to securely move data. The Drake Herald, small, armored ship, is designed to fit that need and safely get that information from Point A to Point B. Featuring a powerful central engine (for high speed transit and generating the power needed for effective data encryption/containment), advanced encryption software and an armored computer core, the Herald is unique among personal spacecraft in that it is designed to be easily ‘cleaned’ when in danger of capture. The Herald includes an array of heavy duty internal options for data protection, including redundant power subsystems and EMP shielding, and a high-powered broadcast array for data transmission. Considered by some to be ‘so ugly it’s beautiful,’ the asymetrical Herald looks almost like the company’s take on a Vanduul design. The Herald is a true pilot ship, at its core consisting of little more than a seat, bunk, advanced electronics and two huge engines. Drake Heralds are sold for the purpose of sensitive data transmission, but the modularity of their supporting hardpoints will allow a significant number of other purposes. While Heralds can keep pace with the fastest racers, their maneuverability is lower… but the right pilot with dedicated modifications might be able to take home some prize credits! Known specifications The following specifications come from an anonymous source among Drake Interplanetary’s top executives : LENGTH 23m BEAM 15.5m HEIGHT 9.5m NULL-CARGO MASS 18000 Kg CARGO CAPACITY 0 SCU MAX CREW 2 persons MAX POWER PLANT 3 FACTORY POWER PLANT ACOM StarHeart III (2) MAX ENGINE (PRIMARY THRUSTER) 2x TR3 FACTORY ENGINE Coming Soon MANEUVERING THRUSTERS 8x TR1 FACTORY MANEUVERING THRUSTERS Drake Trireme Ina P MAX SHIELD 3 SHIELD Gorgon AllStop (2) CLASS-4 2x S1 Distortion Cannon, 1x S1 Laser Cannon Authorities recommend caution regarding the unreliable source of these specifications. Additional Equipment The Drake Herald comes equipped with advanced encryption software, an armored computer core, a redundant power subsystem, EMP shielding and a high-power broadcast array.
