You should have mining-specific equipment or something Are Garage fees going to be expensive? The garage fee isn't some crazy charge What are the refueling fees? I'ts like the original privateer - 50 credits when you land. The idea is that the economy works both ways. So you're earning credits in missions, but you're also paying taxes and shipping fees and stuff. So that instead of a system like WoW where the economy is one sided, it's a closed system here. NPCs aren't just randomly making gold for you, there's a set amount of money in the universe. There is a set amount of money? So what's the point of giving it to an npc when I park a ship? It will just vanish out of game Yes Chris wants to simulate a whole economy. Will it break and we have to do it the easy way instead? Maybe, but we want to find out. Well, we're going to have more and more Squadrons(127th for example) and may ingame companies out there...soon with their own websites. KS has a pre-set survey thing we have to use, we're setting it up now Are we allowed to try to hack the game during alpha and forward everything to you guys? Yes What is the additional money used for? Hiring more people? Yes, all additional money goes into the game...and will probably be hiring more people. More designers, more programmers and so on. More artists When will the mods tools be available Probably after the alpha and before the full game, to give you time to learn on them If we pledge more money for artists, programmers, whatever you need. Does that mean we'll get the game sooner Probably not sooner but...better. More artists means we have more freedom to add stuff on the fly. Like if we come in tomorrow and have an idea for a new type of gun, we can stay ok, you guys balance it, build it, etc. Ship upgrades, modifiers, weapons - can those be removed again and re-used on other ships Yes Will there be recordings/replays Yes to replays, that's actually in the game engine already, we use it on the dev side Question about updating post-kickstarter merging Yes, after we link pledges you can upgrade Are you guys planning indoor environments...like asteroid tunnels Yes! Can we store mods/upgrades - like I our garage Not sure about storing upgrades - probably, have to think about how it'd work Question about KS survey You'll get a survey in the mail first to give us your info, Kickstarter is weird The description of SC says that it's not an MMO, but a MMO+single player off/on campaigns. It says that updates will be forever, weekly and NEVEr anything will be sold that can be acquired in game, which we can conclude that missions packs should all be for free, so, mission packs after behind enemy lines will be for free as promised in the description of star citizen Different kinds of updates! The Star Citizen story continues forever and gets updated each week by us. But there'll also be mission disks, primarily for squadron 42, based on the original wing commander's secret missions
