  1. Hellooo..! main question here : --->> what is the best hardware upgrade (price/performance) for me to run SC smoother <<--- I started playing SC recently and I thought my hardware wopuld be strong enough to run SC smooth on 1080P everywhere. But in Loreville I get like 20 FPS or even less with much stuttering. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/telemetry <--- says I shoud run 36,6 FPS on average but I got a feeling that's not correct. (I got GPU score 125, CPU score 100 btw) Is my PC underperforming? Or should I simply upgrade.. and if so... what is the best upgrade for better SC performance. My current hardware: Mboard: ASRock B450M Pro4-F Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Wraith Boxed (3,4g) GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OC (6Gb) Memory: G.Skill Aegis F4-3000C16D-16GISB (16gb) Funny thing is that running SC on 3 monitors (1080p) doesnt even give that much FPS loss... weird. Thanks for all your replies A new citizen
  2. I had a little problem when I played in Crusader yesterday, I was having a blast with my friends account using a Freelancer (<3 quad tarantulas), and in the middle of a dogfight near a comm array, I accidentally slammed the ship against a solar panel. I died and woke up in Port Olisar again, but I noticed that the Freelancer was still in my hud at 100k-ish km away (or something), so I decided to grab a Gladius and go back to that same array, I fought off the pirates and found that my ship was ~1 km away, spinning uncontrollably on an axis/tilt. I tried the following for over 30 minutes: - EVA to it - It was a bit too fast for me and I couldn't reach the cargo doors or the turret. - Tried getting my ship right next to the Freelancer and engage the newtonian brake - It worked at first by stopping the spin a bit, but the ship was too fast and not only slid off the Gladius, but damaged it quite a bit. - Shooting it with the nose gun to help slow it down - Moderately effective as it slowed down the ship, but it hurt the hull a bit and the spin was still there. - For the lulz, I tried the maneuver from Interstellar by going into decoupled mode and trying to match the spin and velocity of the ship, but not only was it hard, I almost lost the Gladius as well because as soon as I left it because it went on a near-uncontrollable spin too >_> I eventually abandoned the Freelancer, but what do you do when you have a ship like this? (other than not crashing it ofc).
  3. Hey guys! First post on the forum! I have about $200 in store credits (currently contained within a hornet and a reliant skirmisher with some other upgrades) However I can't really decide on what I want to supplement my current Banu Merchantman. I realise that at the start of the game i'm unlikely to be able to fully run it with little in-game credits. So i'd have to start with some smaller ship and save up till I can fully run it. I'd also like a ship for general fighting and a sort of "don't mess with me" feeling. I was originally planning to trade up for a redeemer and get an avenger but after totting up how much I've already spent in this game I think I need to just try and keep what I have! My current stuff is a constellation with a banu upgrade, a standard hornet, a reliant strikefighter and a taurus to sabre upgrade (which I had in case I suddenly wanted a sabre but didn't want to buy one straight out) The only real definite one I want on that list is the Banu, so i don't really mind using the rest of my credits as a way to supplement it. Just not sure how to go around with it. I could go with a freelancer for a smaller ship with a similar playstyle but I think i'd prefer a fighter/gunship. Also I'd sort of feel like the freelancer would become redundant once I moved onto the banu so I'd prefer ships with different playstyles with less overlap. I think getting an avenger is a safe bet as it can fight a little bit, is fast and has some cargo capacity. Feels like a good all rounder. This still leaves with about $150 though. So decisions decisions... I also kind of like the idea of having a set up such as having a mining/salvage ship that would get some goods and then i'd pass the cargo onto my banu which would then try and sell it. However the only ships like this are currently $350! Although CIG have mentioned bringing in smaller versions after they've finished with their larger versions. So any help is appreciated! TLDR: Need help deciding on what ships to get with $200 store credits to complement Banu Merchantman.
  4. So I just played arena commander and.... WOW. Two big things stood out. One, i love this game, its beautiful, and I'm gettin WHOOPED in a mustang alpha. That might of been three things. So, what can I do to upgrade the mustang alpha? Can you add missiles or better guns? Should I just say screw it an pledge with a more expensive ship? Some advice from the experienced players of this sacred forum would be welcomed!
  5. I hope you guys don't get this ALL the time. If you do, I apologize. I haven't been keeping up with all the Star Citizen news and information for the last couple of months so I'm kind of worried I've missed a ton. I've had my ships for a long time now but I just realized that they're all relatively short ranged. I have an Aurora LX, M50, and a Super Hornet. They all have LTI so I was thinking about doing a CCU from the Aurora to.. something else. I was leaning towards a Cutlass or a Constellation when it becomes AC-ready. I made a topic on Reddit actually about what one ship you would fly if you were a real pilot in the Star Citizen universe. I did it to start a conversation, but also as a cheap way to get some advice. I got a lot of good replies but I wanted to ask here too. So anyway... I want a ship that you could take a long ways without having to refuel all the time. I was looking at the Constellation Aquila but I'm worried that if my friends are doing their own things, it would be severely nerfed by having only me in its crew. The cutlass looks nice since it has a max crew of 2. If it were only me, it'd only be down one crewmember so it wouldn't be too bad I don't think. Are there any other ships that you guys would recommend? I keep hearing about a sale in August, and the sale in November. I was thinking about just waiting until the Constellation is available for CCU, or waiting for the November sale to try to get something completely different. I'd like that ship that is just your daily driver, the perfect multi-role ship that I could use everyday. I could switch to the SH or M50 whenever I need a specialty ship. TLDR: I have Aurora LX, M50, Super Hornet. I want a ship that can do light trading, can defend itself, and some exploring. Suggestions?
  6. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Cross-Chassis-Upgrades/Aurora-LN-To-Hornet-Upgrade 60 Euros / 75 Dollars Does anyone think it is worth it? How long do you think one would have to play for to be able to buy an F7-C? Assumption and supposition permitted ;-)
  7. Planning on getting a new PC around next month and this is what I have right now after a moderate amount of research. Aiming for a 1440p gaming rig for the most part with 2D digital designing on the side. Going for a gunmetal look with some flashy LED action for some aesthetic points as well. My budget is around 3 grand and I would like some constructive feedback.
  8. So. I'm looking to get off of my laptop and hopefully soon start my first build and these are the parts that I've got my eyes on. Any problems here that anyone can see? I.e. any compatibility issues, bottlenecking, etc?: CPU: i7-4770k Cooling: Corsair H100i Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Formula OS: Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit Memory: Dominator Platinum 16Gb (2x8Gb) 1866mhz Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 1Tb SSD Seagate 1Tb 7200rpm HDD PSU: Corsair 750W GPU: Radeon R9 290x Case: Corsair 750D Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27'' Would this combination work well? Is there anything I need to change? Is the PSU overkill (I'm thinking long-term of maybe going SLI/Crossfire)?
