Hello and welcome to the Imperium Newsletter for Aug. We’ve seen an increase in Imperium's ranks yet again with a few promotions while StarCitizen had the Siege of Orison event for the first half of Aug and has been working on the newest patch which should be close! Recently, the leaderboards for Arena Commander and Star Marine have started to come back online. We would like to remind everyone that the members that attain a high ranking in the leaderboards will be rewarded with ribbons which will be displayed on their portal profiles. Please read through this forum post to see what the requirements are to earn these accolades. Here is a link to the Leaderboards. @Shane is currently hosting an Emoji competition on discord and can be found in the #emoji-competition channel. This is a way to get more emotes the community likes added to our discord. Simply submit a emote in the channel and leave a vote for it, and any others you like by leaving an up arrow or some sort of reaction on the image. The top 5 will be added to the discord! A reminder that we are currently in the process of updating Discord as well as some other areas of Imperium, please bear with us while we undergo updates. Its been a great month for both StarCitizen and Imperium! We’ve just had the release of 3.17.2 opening servers up to 100 people and limited to 75 during Siege of Orison. Speaking of Siege of Orison, SC will have both Siege and Jump Town on alternating days from July 30th to August 11th, Imperium is already getting groups together and setting up events, make sure to check out the #event-calendar and LFG channel! In Imperium news, we’ve started implementing more updates to the Discord. You may see that some channels have changed names and/or locations so please take a moment to readjust yourself to the new layout and features. We’ve also changed our #help-desk channel from open discussion to Tickets! Allowing more specific assistance with what you need and everything to be kept private between you and Human Resources. Welcome to the May Newsletter! We finally had 3.17 released early in the month which resulted in a boost in activity for us on Discord and the game. We started off the month strong with a lot of impromptu mining events making sure everyone started off strong financially but as most may know, some bugs resulted in many losing their AUEC which deterred many from future events. Since then, we’ve had the start of Invictus, an exciting time for all. Any new players should make sure to get in and experience the event which includes a partial tour of the Javelin and watching the UEE Fleet fly around which includes the Bengal carrier, Javelins, Idris and FC8 Lightnings! In regards to Imperiums staff, we've been keeping busy with our respected tasks but have been spending a good amount of time in the game enjoying the events and with family during the recent holidays. Welcome to the April Newsletter! April has been a quiet month while we wait for 3.17 to drop. Most people were taking a brief hiatus but as of Friday the 29th, patch 3.17 has been released! Recently implementing new ways to organize, track and streamline our internal process which so far has been a great experience to see what everyone is working on and the progress they have, all in one place. Welcome to the March Newsletter! Let's start with some unit news! We have an announcement to all Unit Administrators asking them to sign up for Unit Categories in the Imperium discord server. Imperium is looking into more ways to make units more accessible to the general member base, and unit categories are the first step being taken to pursue this goal! “This will hopefully allow interested Imperium members the ability to interact with units beyond any initial conversations in your unit recruitment threads” -Arcanus If you are a Unit admin or assistant, please give his message a read in the #unit-support-admins channel in Discord and note that he is asking for feedback in relation to the unit categories, so please don't be shy to share your thoughts! Next up, this is older news to some but new to others like myself, one of our Military Specialists @macgivre took the time to map Yela and Lyria, this was combined with the Coordinate maps from Deep Space Crew where they highlighted points of interests, providing a map you can navigate much easier! Young can find it posted here on SCB. Lastly, our Academy Division is looking for more people to assist in the creation and teaching of courses. Imperium Xenothreat Weekend Operations Where: MIC-L1, vicinity of Microtech When: 2300-0100 UTC (1800-2000 EST) Friday evening & 1500-2300 UTC (1000-1800 EST) Saturday Instructions: Below are the two phases of the Xenothreat event, of which the first requires the most effort. When taking part in the event, listen to the instructions of the present Imperium and Military Staff, and they'll ensure we have a quick first phase and enjoyable second phase. Be sure to have a blast! Phase 1 (Cargo Phase) Participants will be separated into two teams: a fighter escort of at least 4 ships to secure the space around wrecks; and the cargo teams, transported in a cargo ship (no larger than a valkyrie) and comprised of 4 members. Other participants are encouraged to either fight Xenothreat forces around the wreck sites or engage Xenothreat forces when Jericho station is under attack. All participants should have MIC-L1 set as their primary spawn via the medical hub inside the station. Fighter Escort: 2 Escort ships assigned per cargo ship when loading/returning to Jericho Station Clear enemy AI fighters around a selected starfarer wreck, prioritize security of wreck over destruction of AI waves after loading begins. Pilots are our only eyes in the sky to warn of approaching players. Ward off other players that want to load from the same wreck, utilize server chat if needed. Keep cargo teams informed. Cargo Team(s): All members will need the following equipment, which can be obtained at MIC-L1: Medgun, 2x Hemazol, Tractor Beam, Primary/Secondary Weapons Teams will be comprised of 1 pilot and 3 loaders. The owner of the cargo ship should NOT be piloting in the event of enemy players attempting to board the cargo ship/steal boxes/self-destruct. In the event of hostile player boarding, deadly force is authorized. Cargo team member that gains the crimestat will wait in the starfarer wreck until they can be ferried to a Microtech bunker for crimestat clearing. 1 player will remain on the cargo ship to sort boxes, the other 3 will clear the starfarer, prioritizing the revival of any downed team members. Once, clear, the 3 members will begin pulling the YELLOW and BLUE crates from their containers and stacking near the cargo door. GREEN crates will only be removed/loaded when the other two have been fully loaded into the cargo ship. (See reference image below) Once all crates are loaded from one wreck, all team members will board the cargo ship and fly directly without quantum travelling to Jericho station. Upon successfully selling the crates, return and repeat on a new starfarer wreck. Phase 2 (Attack Phase) All Participants Upon completion of Phase 1, all players should return to MIC-L1 and switch to combat-ready ships to engage with the Xenothreat forces, if they have not already. Have fun, and kill everything!
