  1. Looking to buy any of these ships or a package of all of these ships, complete not upgrade please with. with LTI please. Prospector Orion Hull B Reclaimer Thanks everyone for all your help!
  2. New information = revising my plans and thinking yet again. With the design doc released on the repair mechanic, the Orion has now become a 'must have' for all deep-space fleet operations. Repairing will cost raw/refined materials, which will be limited. Any large, deep-space fleet operation will need a refueling ship, a repair ship, and materials providing ships such as the Orion and Crucible (hmm, can maybe salvage subcomponents, etc.?) Complete autonomy is key when going the distance. So far, we have everything taken care of except manufacturing ballistic ammunition and missiles, which we should have plenty of cargo space to accomodate with. That or use energy weapons or keep some in storage for fighters in the event ammo is depleted. The Orion serves two functions, it can collect resources wherever it goes, and it can refine them for distribution to repair vessels should the need arise (or stock up on rare/valuable materials if they aren't , running the Orion or Refueler may be boring at times, but it has its perks). Unless otherwise stated, the duty of the Orion to the fleet would be to acquire, refine, and provide all necessary materials for repair in exchange for fuel, protection, and support for itself. Then, after the operation is over, the crew of the Orion would divy up their bounty of cargo. This is assuming that the Orion is playing a support role in some large org operation involving carriers, explorers, fighters, etc., the whole line up. If the Orion (or multiple) is the one being supported, focus of support/the fleet, with the intent of entering dangerous space for the sole purpose of harvesting valuable materials (a mining operation with limited support other than military), that's a different story. Heck, if an op is ending, the Orion(s) could mine up and refine resources until everyone's cargo holds are full Fill up that space the ammo and missiles were occupying once the battle is over. I'm guessing the Orion can be crewed by 3 or 4 people. Duties include: Pilot, scanner, laser op, tractor op, refinery op. Some of these can likely be combined into one station. For example, the pilot can probably handle scanning, and it would make sense to pair these anyway with the pilot knowing where he is going and what he wants to check out, then relaying that information to the next man. Also, the laser op may be able to run the tractors, again it would make sense to pair these with the cutter knowing what's being cut and what/where to expect fragments. No need for the guns while mining, switch to guns and stop mining if the situation calls for it. Just some thoughts while getting more excited than I already am. @Chimaera I smell a medal in here somewhere, I just can't put my finger on what or how to qualify it... Multitasking Station/duty efficiency I dunno... When we get to see more of the game, and we can make some concrete Academy courses for certs + have practicals and live demonstrations, that may be easier to spot. Trying to explain the things in my head... nobody wants a laser op that destabilizes rocks or a tractor op that bangs up your hull/misses rocks or a repairman that wastes resources constantly. Having the medals and certs will definitely help to identify the most capable pilots/players for their chosen tasks, and hopefully tie in to their pay grade too! (at least in some indirect, non-arbitrated way) Oh, one more thought I'm try to squeeze out of my head in not such an elegant fashion: Waste less = saving money/time/resources = everyone gets paid more and faster is the reasoning behind wanting certs/recognition for competency (or extreme competency) and paying those players more. They've earned it, and they are earning it for their team too, so give them their due. Also, paying people more for being better at a task will only serve to incentivize broad-spectrum improvement in all of our members.
  3. Hello, I'm looking for the upgrade: Freelancer -> Constellation Taurus. PM me if you have it available, with prices. We can use a middleman if you'd like. - Mad
  4. So I got to thinking about how long it would take to earn a ship in game given that we can actually earn a form of UEC now. I know so much will change but I thought it was interesting to see where things are if the PU launched with the earning potential we have now. A little about the numbers I've used: for ship costs, I used the upgrade cost times the exchange rate of $1 = 1000 UEC and for UEC/hour I used what my net profit was after six hours of gameplay doing mostly ICC missions and restarting relays. I also allowed for the operating costs of fuel, ammo and repair. Hope you guys find this as interesting as I have
  5. I have a sabre, avenger and a aurora. I was thinking about melting these ships and getting a redeemer or a vanguard which would be used for bounty hunting. Do y'all think this is a good idea ? If not what ships do y'all recommend?
  6. Hi im trooper and i make star citizen youtube videos. I make videos that range from ship showcase to a series I like to call Star Citizen Academy and this series is a tutorial series where i aim to to do a tutorial on every little feature, systems, ship management and even right down to the basics. At the moment I'm making and uploading season 1 to my channel, but i plan to do season 2 when the beta comes out so i can revisit anything that changed. Here is my latest Star Citizen video: And here is a link to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2WyLOHoavbqoTRUqyDZSHw I also do funtage videos between my star citizen videos and in my funtage video i play a game and just show the fun, funny, cool or stupid moments.
  7. I want to reduce my fleet a little bit so here are nearly all ships I can sell. I will not sell them all and let you decide what I will keep after some are sold. I will also list some rare ships and packages that I can buy back for you, but maybe the prices are not so interesting because I have to pay 19 percent VAT here in germany when buying back nowadays in the RSI store. If you wish to pay with paypal you have to use a verified account. But I will also accept classic bank transfer, bitcoin and cash if you are in my hometown. please contact me via pm if you are interested. 8. My hype is renewed, as does often happen (or it never vanished ... lol) ---- anyway I was wondering about the following Does anyone see themselves trying the following game play - or are hoping that this is possible in game? (because I am hoping) 1. Serving as a crew member on an MISC Endeavor but basically as the role that uses the stations not any space interaction (aka no gunner or pilot or engineer seats) - and then just walking around the ship and enjoying the views when not 'working' - all while the captain and other crew on the ship (that you may not know or even interact with) just go about their business. - Not really caring what the destination is - just enjoying the beauty of the views while the endevour is being flown around. ??? It's hard to explain, but when I'm not captaining a vessel I would love to just walk around a large ship and use the equipment as I want (think Endeavor doctor station/research station/agricultural station) - while it's going where ever it's being flown and just feeling like i'm living on a space ship etc. --- thats about the best I can explain I'm afraid! 2. What other roles do we know are going to be available? I can see, Pilot, Gunner, Engineer, Miner operator, --- I'm very curios to know what other roles there will be on the larger ships (the ones with at least 10 stations - idris and such - what do we know so far? and what do we think) (Thats it for now - I forgot my other questions been awake too long haha)
  9. So...what do you guys think about the new change which affects all ships? I like them personally as it allows more modularity. https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/comment/5287105/#Comment_5287105 "Hey guys, since we just had the first details of the new component sizes talked about in ATV today, just wanted to pop in and clarify a few things. Regarding the existing ship specs - The current plan is to retrofit things against the current size specs. We don't want to be removing power from any ships, just readjusting them to the new sizes. Regarding mix/match of different sizes - While we're still building out the multi-component systems, there will be some more logical restrictions as to what can be installed where. The current working design is components could only tier up/down by 1 class, and the classes are sized on a matching 4:1 ratio. For example, a Super Hornet currently supports a max of Size 4 shields. With the new system, the goal is to let pilots have the choice between 4 Light Shield Generators, allowing for some more flexibility in what each generator is tuned for, or a single Medium Shield Generator, which would lack the diversity of 4 Lights, but would be objectively more potent being a larger class of item. As this new system really starts to roll out, expect some more detailed posts to really dive into the how/why of this change, and also showcase just how flexible the customization options will become when it's all implemented." It really is going to cost a bloody fortune to completely outfit just one ship.
  10. On Reddit someone noticed the Starfarer price went up to $300 in the upgrade tool. This is sad news for someone like me who was planning on choosing a larger ship once I had a chance to try all the different mechanics first.

  17. 11/23/15 - TS Meeting Agenda - Ships / Pledges / Playing SC2.0 we will revisit this topic from last TS meeting (yes we still have ships on the brain ). We will discuss the Anniversary Sale (the new ships like the Avenger Variants, Crucible, P72, and other limited ships like the Phoenix). We will also go over people's pledges (if they want advice please post below and we can respond here + talk about it in the meeting) ++ We will talk about how we are going to start playing SC2.0 once it gets released (beyond the PTU).... and other Blood Moon TS events relative to playing the game and how to just join in TS (to find us) for everyday SC play The thread was written prior to even knowing about the Hull E (I think I have later posts updating some more theory-crafting = but just remember this is just one person's point of view - and even though I follow a great deal of content the game is a WIP). Since you are in Eclipse - I personally think the Banu MM will be the most profitable ship for you (since we will be on the fringe of Vanduul + possibly Banu space). If we wen't in a Vanduul Hunting unit like Eclipse, Blood Moon, Dark Sun, Crimson Talons, etc... then the equation changes. VIP missions will be extremely valuable to run when the game starts and we are in the heart of UEE space (and players will want to "Tour" anyway to see CIG's hard work = so you might as well earn credits doing so). However.... It will be too dangerous to operate T&I ships out in the open near or in Vanduul Space but the Vanduul have a trade relationship with the Banu (and we don't know how they would react to a Banu MM but they may not outright attack it at first like an obvious UEE ship). I am going to CCU my extra Warden to a Banu MM this sale for that reason. The Orions / Reclaimers will need CAP patrols or escort protection in the field.... then use the Banu MM (or Hull C - but again prefer the MM near Vanduul Space) to load up the Scrap or Refined Ore (to keep the Orion's and Reclaimers in the field doing their work).... then bring it back to the Forward Operating Base (distribution center / supply depot) - where the HULL E can be sitting in wait functioning as a warehouse. Once the Hull E is at capacity then it can transport the goods from the FOB to Imperium's Home System or somewhere in the heart of UEE space (for a safer trade route - but may still need escort) ALSO SEE ---> Multi-Squadron Profit Tactics - pt 2 - Profitable Missions in the early PU Multi-Squadron Profit Tactics - pt 3 - Hauling / Transporting / Shuttling / Smuggling / Info Running / Trading Multi-Squadron Profit Tactics - pt 4 - Solo / Multi-Ship Pledges / Groups / Crew / Unit Logistics
  18. Not sure this have been posted before. But download this to see the different ship scales in star citizen (this is a unreal map so you can fly aound yourself) http://romanito.com/starcitizen/ship-scale-viewer/Ship Scale
  19. When will we start having more Bounty Hunter ships? I am cool with new ships coming in, but really can we have another single pilot ship that can carry live prisoners from each different industry. For each industry should have at least one Intercept/Interdiction with a lot of differences. Just example coming out of my head like one with more armor, less firepower, even a good engine or one with good stealth capabilities, great speed, and OK firepower.
  20. I think I heard someone say RSI was planning to expand the CCU system to include CCU'ing to smaller ships, with the extra value added to your account with whatever was leftover. I have been eyeing a package but say if I wanted to CCU a Hull D (350) into an orion (325$) its not possible, and I already have plans for the lower and dont feel like spending 200+ $ on top the package price. Is there any firm confirmation that this will be possible in the future. I assume that all ships virtually will go on sale at least once or twice more before launch (prob more like 3-4 if it takes another 2 years).

  22. WTFOSaurus is doing a 24 hour stream to raise money for the Extra Life Charity. If/When he hits his $2500 goal he is going to be giving away an Endeavor. So please head over to http://www.twitch.tv/wtfosaurus and give WTFOSaurus some support and donate to Extra Life so he can give that sexy ship away.

  24. For anyone that hasn't found this yet or wondering what the current ship & concept status of you beloved ships. Here's a forum post which is constantly being updated by James_CIG https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/272231/ship-status#latest
  25. Sorry in advance for the text wall, I just like to give detail to spare simple questions. So I've narrowed down my personal fleet to 8 possibilities. I'm looking for feedback, constructive criticism, a good smack in the head, reality check, etc. First of all, this wasn't easy since there's so many awesome choices where I just want to say "I'll take one of everything!" but I can't afford that or fly that many ships. That's a lot of the reason why the Battle Pack I picked up just isn't working....wtf am I going to do with 13 ships? I also don't have the funds to CCU up to the 13 ships I had picked out, even though half were already in the package. Turned out I'd be $775 short, which is way out of my budget since I went overboard with what I've spent already. I want to be a jack-of-most trades in the PU with a strong focus on working the market and finding new ways to do so. Anyway, this is my list with my planned purpose. Reliant: Small hauler able to fit in most jump points Merchantman: Large hauler with the trading post aspect. I would like a smaller hauler as well but this can carry almost anything. Gladiator: Small single pilot fighter with second crew option. For use on solo flights or when Imperium needs some extra capital takedown with those torps. Phoenix: Larger multi-crew fighter. I really went back and forth with this and the Andromeda but in the end this wins out imo based on current stats. The luxury options are a bonus I guess but for what I read they're planning on giving the option of removing that crap for extra room for more build specific customization, which I'm 100% hoping for. 315p: Small solo explorer. Just for those times when I want to chart new areas alone and bring back some small items I find across the verse. It seems to have a lot of decent options for getting some good bang for your buck. Aquila: Multi-crew larger explorer for planetary expeditions. I want to use this to really check the types of areas that most people just overlook. The commercial for it really sold me on a strong desire to pick this up. It's currently my most valued ship to what I want to do. Cutlass Blue: Straight up for what it's made for. If I feel the need to take some time hunting down asshats and bringing them to justice, so be it. The thought of a multi-crew task-force of bounty hunters really intrigues me more than I thought it would. I'm really looking forward to bringing trolls in for their due. Hornet Ghost: Recon with some basic fighting capabilities. Sometimes I just feel like simply walking into Mordor. If this ship delivers on the promise of being undetected by the masses I find it as a great challenge to attempt these missions. So there are my 8. I'll have some funds left over and am thinking about picking up Freelancer Max, which was my first ship originally, to have a mid-sized hauler or maybe a Taurus to fill that role. So here's where I need the most help from this post. I'm strongly torn between the Gladiator, the Super Hornet, and The Vanguard. All 3 have strong pros and few cons. All see suited to do their job well. I'm just not sure which fits me best and really this ship choice is one that I would mostly use to serve Imperium. An open discussion on this for the thread would help me out as long as it's not just opinion based but built on truly informed reasoning. Also, and this is one I'm not sure anyone can answer. Will the Merchantman and Phoenix even be available for purchase later since I guess they were limited edition sales? I wasn't aware of the game at the time of their sales so I'm looking forward to the anniversary sale and hoping to see all of the ships I'm lacking showing up in there but I'm getting mixed messages on what will and won't show up. Anyone with a solid answer on this could put my worries to rest or at least let me make adjustments if they won't be in there. Anyway, that's it for now. First of all, thanks for reading (if you managed to get through all of that), and second, thanks in advance for any information you're willing to give to help me sort out my list.
