  1. Anyone else read about this? Looks like a nice upgrade at a quarter of the cost if it's really true, but sounds like it. The only piece I don't really understand is how is why the 2080TI's are not falling some in price, maybe they will when the 3070 is released? https://osgamers.com/2020/10/22/leaked-benchmarks-show-rtx-3070-is-equal-to-rtx-2080-ti/

Ongoing Discussion GPU comparisons: GTX1070ti vs RTX2070

I recently purchased a GTX1070ti and then they come out with the RTX2070. Do I feel gipped? price of the RTX2070 compared to the GTX1070ti: lowest seen prices: $550 vs $360 Nope, not at all. Sure, the 2070 has GDDR6 mem over the GDDR5 the 1070ti has, but the hardware points I worry about have negligible differences. Granted, while the RTX does not depend on CUDA cores so much (the nature of Ray Tracing), I'm not one for the new bells and whistles if I do not have a practical need for them. The above link is just one comparison and I just focused on the technical specs and not actual performance. This second link is a start for that. The benchmarks show a 78% increase in multi-rendering over the 1070ti. The RTX2060 may be someone else's entre to the RTX world, but I have avoided the 60-series nvidia cards as consumer level performance GPUs. Nothing surprising in this graphic: I am not authoritative....
  3. Ahoj, so we got early benchmarks for AMDs new CPU and they look pretty good. It's an early leak so take it with a grain of salt.
  4. Hey fellow star citizens , just starting this thread for all of who are interested in how the game plays in 4K . I have set up a YouTube channel in which I ll post regular updates in Star Citizen 4K Gameplay , in maxed out settings with frame performance etc. Not just Star Citizen content though , right now there are dedicated playlists on Benchmarks in 4K ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfuS158oXuea8zF97Ks02jIyezZlwzoj- ) and a Batman Arkham Night 4K list too ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLfuS158oXuebnxqpGueVNTUIHMz7OvRz7 ). In the next days , most probably during Xmas period , I plan to upload Grand Theft Auto 4k maxed out videos , and some The Witcher 3 benchmarks and gameplay . Feel free to subscribe , I would be really grateful! Don't hesitate to comment and tell me your opinion My Rig is a custom build water cooling PC named "Project Replicant" , the full build guide can be found here : http://www.overclock.net/t/1569287/build-log-parvum-systems-s-2-project-replicant-finished-project Specs are : *CPU : Intel CPU Core i7-5820K / OC at 4.2GHZ ( via a custom water-cooling loop ) *Mobo : ASROCK X99M EXTREME4 RETAIL *RAM : KINGSTON HYPERX PREDATOR 16GB (4X4GB) DDR4 2666MHZ *GPU : EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked *PSU : Corsair AX860 80+ Platinum *CASE : PARVUM SYSTEMS S2 *HD1 : SSD SAMSUNG 840 EVO 500GB ( OS, apps , games ONLY ) *HD2 : HDD WD GREEN 2 TB ( for docs/photos/videos/music ONLY ) *OPTICAL DRIVE : External Blu-Ray Reader/Writer *KEYBOARD : Corsair K70 Gaming RGB - CHERRY MX RED Switches - *MONITOR : Αsus PB287Q 4K 1MS 28'' *OS : Windows 10 Home. 6. Hey guys! I wanted to start this topic to help anyone looking for a compatible laptop (that doesn't break the bank) for Star Citizen. After months of research I found the Lenovo y510p. Depending on the model it comes with an i5 or i7, GeForce 750m or 755m, and is able to use a second GPU by way of the "UltraBay" for SLi. I did a quick (no audio) benchmark in Star Citizen with the i7, 755m version. I only had the one card in it when I did this. When I get the add-on card I'll do another benchmark, and when DFM drops expect another video or 10 . I posted pictures of it in the "Post your rig" topic, but figured that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a new topic for laptops that can play. In my research there wasn't much information, so I kind of took a leap in the dark on this, but it works amazingly well! Cheers everyone! Ohh, and here's the YouTube link. Edit 1: I've got a new video up for 720p on low settings. These are the settings I find most playable. There will be another video coming soon with 720 and 1080 in their various graphics qualities. I just wanted to get something more polished up for now. Cheers! Edit 2: Link for the SSD fix and partition configurations can be found here. The SSD is not mounted from the factory, so you can't actually install anything on it until you do this. Cheers!
