  1. Hello everyone I published here some time ago (https://forums.starcitizenbase.com/topic/21771-optimal-navigation-with-a-3d-mouse/) and thanks to you I gathered all the information I wanted in order to prepare my gaming mouse project Now, I only miss one thing to perfect my presentation : the configurations of the mouse. So I need you again please ! Here is the list of the buttons and X, Y, Z axis : - Left and right clics - 2 side buttons - Joystick button (you press the joy) - Analog joystick 360° : config on 4 directions - Analog tilt 360° : config on 4 directions - Translation up, down, left, right - Scroll wheel up, down - Scroll wheel button - Lexip button (under the scroll wheel) - Scroll wheel sensitivity - Mouse sensitivity - DPI (01 to 5040) You can set up all these buttons with the Control Panel. You can do what you want (keyboard keys, shortcuts, macros…). How would you configure the mouse ? I can't wait to exchange with you.
  2. I am looking to getting a motorized sit/stand desk for both everyday use and possibly gaming. Has anyone had any experiences with any that are either good or bad? I'm just starting my research now on the subject. I plan a curved monitor of 32"-36" as the main display with a secondary display of 27". Thanks
  3. Hey guys, thought I would share my low-budget dual-joystick and pedal mount I made over this past weekend. Enjoy!
  4. It looks like when the old forums die, SimPits won't be a thing in Spectrum. Please add your vote here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/5/thread/spectrum-layout-tags Look for Third's entry at February 21st at 4:54 am

  6. Feedback Wanted

Came across this piece of kit and wondered if anyone has tested it or heard any feedback? Apparently, it frees your VR gaming experience from the constraints of tethers. it's 100% compatible with Oculus Rift or HTC Vive and requires no hardware modification or adjustment. http://kwikvr.com/
  7. Feedback Wanted

Ok, so the other day I had a crazy idea and I wanted to see if anyone had tried it before I redo my controls. I have always preferred to have an analog throttle but, at the moment (and probably always) I don't have the skills to run HOTAS and not get wrecked by AI. However, I was wondering if anyone had hooked up their scroll wheel to their throttle to free up the other had to only strafe (which I always have trouble doing around the throttle. Any suggestions? Is this even possible? Or is this just another one of my stupid ideas that leads me to crash straight into port Olisar?
  8. Feedback Wanted

If using 8x4gb sticks and 2 burn out leaving 24 gb. can you add 2x 8gb to the mix. of the same type, brand or will there be issues. .....
  9. About a year ago I posted in these forums about an analog keyboard I've been working on for a couple of years. I have made some sizeable changes in the keyboard to make it more usable in Star Citizen and posted a video highlighting how to get full analog control over 6dof using an analog keyboard and mouse: I'd love to hear your feedback!
  10. Feedback Wanted

I copied my post over in the general threads so that it is now in it's proper place..... For what it's worth, for those of us who choose one, having a joystick alone will not give you all of the control any of us will need even with a keyboard. I will leave the merits and setups of the HOTAS kits for someone else in another thread. We all know that KB/M users are loathe to even consider changing to another control scheme because, frankly, they are really familiar with it and thus are more comfortable with the setup they probably learned on. Good on 'em! I rarely use KB/M, if I am, it's because I'm running a Battlearmor in Mechwarrior: Living Legends - but that's it (yes, I play no FPS games). Maybe later, when FPS in SC is enabled, but even then, I'll use my Razer Nostromo (or Orbweaver if I buy one later) and the mouse. I am not debating a person's choice of using a KB/M setup here - the argument is really very old, established, and, frankly, I really don't care why anybody uses a KB/M as their default setup so let's keep that out of any response anybody will have to my "alternative" control scheme - we ALL know why a lot of people choose KB/M. However, if anybody wants to compare my config to theirs if they are instead using a keypad like the Nostromo and a mouse vice a traditional KB/M setup, then by all means, their experience will definitely help others make decisions about future purchases or setup peripherals. I have posted this somewhere in the Imperium forums, but, it's buried PLUS I've been thinking about the config and may have changed minor bits. My idea for a Star Citizen control scheme is to use the Razer Nostromo (a keypad) and Joystick. The use of the keypad allows me to have an uncomplicated joystick in a keyboard. My ideas for using them are: Razer Nostromo keypad for the left hand -- I do recommend the Razer Orbweaver or Orbweaver Stealth, though, because their hand, palm and thumb test ergonomics can be adjusted whereas the Nostromo features are fixed (the Razer Tartarus is the replacement for the Nostromo I think and lacks the scroll wheel and also has a fixed hand and thumb rest). The Nostromo has multiple wait states you can use to program a scheme for another game or to supplement the SC configs for, say, FPS movement/actions control: program the 14 keypad finger buttons as needs for weapons, shields, hyper/lightspeed, etc. the d-pad I will for the following: "W" for throttle increase, "S" for decrease throttle and slowly increasing reverse thrusters until stop or max output for reverse, "A" for strafe left, "D" for strafe right The scroll wheel I think will be useful for controlling fore and aft shields. The use should be obvious, but just in case: - neutral/middle is equal fore and aft shield strength - moving the wheel forward or backwards will alter the percentage as needs I plan to use a Joystick for the right hand, at present, I'm using the inexpensive Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - been using one for years, even to play mechwarrior games. Plus, SC is supporting this JS from jump. The following setup has yet to be worked out, exist only as possibilities and will depend on how much fine control we get over the thrusters. X-axis - turn left/right or program for roll Y-axis - pitch down/up Z-axis - either rotate on the x-axis around the Y-axis or roll left/right (by selecting which thrusters are employed if possible - this may require a macro in the logitech software and/or SC settings) Hat switch, I hope to be able to program it for thruster use because I will be using TrackIR for "looking": left - rotate left on the z-axis right - rotate right on the z-axis forward - move forward down and level on the y-axis back - move forward up and level on the y-axis (the last two will be Q and E I believe) Trigger button/button 1 - primary fire button Button 2 (thumb button) - comms Button 3 - secondary weapon(s) Button 4 - tertiary weapon(s) Button 5 - missile countermeasures Button 6 - Alpha (all weapons less missiles unless have lock) There are buttons on the base of the JS, but I've not thought about why I would use them unless it was for jumping to hyper/lightspeed where my left hand can be used for them without having to worry about any other functions needed for fighting, boarding, mining, etc.... razer orbweaver http://youtu.be/mBwueKn6QMA

  12. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/anidees-ai-crystal-midi-tower-tempered-glass-black-ca-03a-ad.html I quite like the idea of a highly visable case that shows off my Mobo (Maximus 8 fomular) with RGB aswell as having good air flow from top to bottem aswell having a fan spliter (as I love my fans!) My old case is having trapped heat at the top front which is a slight worry for me atm. Price tag is £130 I knew i'd seen this case in a vid before and look and behold. UPDATE Case bought extra items include https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-external-slimline-dvd-re-writer-usb-8x-black-2-free-m-disks-included-cyberlink-power2go-8-cd-067-as.html https://www.overclockers.co.uk/phanteks-multicolor-rgb-led-strip-2-metres-ca-007-pt.html RGB lighting will make this case look so dam good!
  13. I am a PS4 moderate gamer looking to replace my seven year old PC. Now if that PC happens to be able to play Star Citizen I can give this game a shot. It looks to have everything I ever wanted from a PC game if it is ever released. The problem I have is not wanting to spend much on the PC itself and no I will not build a PC. Tried that once and all it lead to was wasted money and lots of cursing. Will this be able to handle Star Citizen? http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=83-102-038#close If not does anyone have links to pre-built PC's that would be able to handle Star Citizen on medium settings and not cause my wife to murder me through excessive expense?
  14. I have been using my laptop for work for the last 2 years, and I have had zero problems with the onboard graphics card. I use a lot of Microsoft products and heavy ram intensive products, so I upgraded to 16 gb. Well the screen was defaulted to 2330 X something and I had left it there. The game was jumpy and was unplayable, so I moved the game resolution down to 1960X something, and it was ok but still hard to play because of the jumpiness. So I adjusted my sceen resolution to the same 1960 X something resolution lastnight. After which I spent all night fighting the crash report, or I was falling through walls. Is my onboard gpu not able to handle the game at the way it plays now or do I need to make more adjustments?
  15. First time running into this problem since I have been playing. Current set up: Left stick= T16000 Right stick= T Warthog Pedals= pro flight saitek Controller - 360 (All plugged in) Star citizen will recognize any buttons pressed with the warthog when rebinding however when try to bind the x or y axis, it fails to see it. Things I have tried: 1. Uninstalling and reinstalling stick drivers. 2.Deleting user folder 3. Uninstalled/reibstalled game completely 4. Checked windows game controllers and axis was being recognized in game settings 5. Switched USB from USB hub to case. 6. Drank lots of alcohol after 2 hours. 7. I have never used TARGET nor XML remapping, have never needed too. 8. Did not try disconnecting any other inputs.

  17. I am looking to get a new laptop to replace my desktop machine and think I have an MSI model that will do it. But, it needs some modifications to pull it off. I found several companies that claim to do it and narrowed it down to 2. Has anyone had any experiences with either Computer Upgrade King or Xotic PC? I have no problem making the changes myself but would like to avoid wasting money on components I plan to replace or voiding the warranty. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
  18. I built this a while back and it runs most games pretty well at Ultra (except for Arma 3, it hates Arma 3.) http://pcpartpicker.com/list/DmFFkL I'm looking to get VR and I've not really gotten any solid feedback on this rig before. What can I upgrade for a better VR /general experience (besides the ever so obvious GPU)? Also, I want a better case if anyone has any suggestions.

  20. 21. I am thinking of getting this monitor(AcerZ35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009874 ),(not from that site) and im hoping that someone here has any practical hands on experience with it. Any input welcome also GeForce GTX 980 Ti is what I am using, with a Samsung S27D390 ( http://www.game-debate.com/monitor/index.php?mon_id=2466&monitor=Samsung%20S27D390 )
  22. So I have been having problems playing SC where the computer sees my Warthog throttle and joystick, but in the game I only get throttle input. I looked in my Device Manager and saw way more devices listed than I had. Troubleshooting attempts: Deleting / uninstalling all the devices listed. Tried twice. The first time I ended up with a joystick that Sc recognized, the second time I ended up with more devices than before. Windows reset but keep personal files. Resulted in no change. except to the number of games I need to reinstall. Any help here would be appreciated.
  23. Ok, my old router has lost it's wireless abilities. It is 8 years old and needs replacing anyway. So, I bought a new router to replace it. My network is having the main computer connect via Ethernet cable and all other devices connect wirelessly. With the new router in place, all wireless devices connect and have internet connections, but the main comp connects to the router, but does not have internet access. I have swapped back to the old router and find internet, no problem. Switching back to the new router, I get the same as the main comp not reaching the internet, but the wireless devices do. Having gotten this far last night and decided to go to bed for work today, I am trying to find solutions before I head home tonight. I am thinking I need to check the adapters in the device manager. Any other input as to what I need to check out? Any info is greatly appreciated.
  24. Hey there This might be a long shot but here goes. I just purchased CH Pro Pedals and I'm now currently in a need for some help. Is there anyone with experience on this matter that could help me over teamspeak how best is to do this? Right now my plan is to have it binded as roll and then the toebrakes as spacebrake. What I've read so far is that I have to put deadzone on it and I've installed the CH Control manager but would feel better if there was someone helping me with this just so I wouldn't be making any obvious failures.
  25. I've recently purchased an Acer G257HU 25" 1440p/144Hz IPS monitor to serve as my gaming monitor. All well and good except for the fact that it's locked to the 60Hz refresh rate of my Viewsonic VX2270 21.5" 1080p/IPS monitor that I'm using for mundane chores. Soooo, I'm considering getting a GTX950 for the Viewsonic so I can use the GTX970 SSC solely for the Acer. Anybody have any reasonable arguments why I shouldn't do this? I am running Win 10 and Dx12 and do not plan to game on the Viewsonic.
