  1. Happy Birthday!

  2. My plan is to hire NPC whores and teach them how to man turrets while they aren't engaged in "other activities" on board, haha
  3. If we can't own it we should blow it up [emoji3]
  4. Feedback Wanted

I have a bit of flexibility.. Windows 8.1 is on my 250GB SSD. I'll have my family pics and videos on the 3TB HDD, but I also have a 40GB SSD that's now unused. You think that should be my Star Citizen drive?
  5. They should include some type of ferry horn for when you take off, haha.
  6. Looking at these pics again...looks like there are rear-facing weapons. Maybe the crew size will change as well. Otherwise your 2nd crewmember would need to either run around to different turrets, use his station as "turret central", all while managing ship systems. hmm
  7. Feedback Wanted

As a follow-up, I decided to get the FX-9590 with a water cooler, a 3TB HDD and Windows 8.1. I just loaded Windows on a 250GB SSD. The HDD will be my "apps & storage" drive. I've been consolidating my family pics and video and need the space. Pretty sure my Win7 was illegitimate too. I'm going to wait on upgrading my video card until SC is released. Thanks for the advice guys!
  8. Interesting that there aren't any noticeable maneuvering thrusters, especially since there are pics of the ship on land.
  9. Feedback Wanted

Hey folks, I have a 2 year old system with the following specs: Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX CPU: AMD FX 4100 GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 (1GB GDDR5) RAM: 16GB HDD: two Corsair SSDs and one Western Digital 250GB hdd I ran HWinfo64 to try to see where my bottleneck is and it's showing my processor pegged near 100% when playing Star Citizen (mostly when in the hangar, but I'm getting performance issues while in Arena Commander). Given all the Black Friday deals popping up, I am considering upgrading the processor to the AMD FX 9590, which would bring be from 4 core to 8 core. Given the feedback on newegg.com I would also get the CORSAIR Hydro Series H80i CW-9060008-WW/RF Water Cooler. This would put me back ~$300, which isn't too bad for me. So, what do you guys think? Thanks in advance
  10. I see your point but I still think you'd want some fighter escorts, which would be more nimble and run circles around the redeemer and connie. Maybe you'd want to have a support wing (medical, repair, fuel) follow in the next star system behind so they wouldn't be caught in the crossfire.
  11. Thanks all for your advice. I ended up changing the plans a bit after speaking with my wife and bro-in-law. Turns out they prefer having a full number-pad on the keyboard and don't really see themselves using tablet-mode very much. So for my brother in law I got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LO3K002/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Looks like a nice machine with i7 processor, decent RAM and SSD. I'm pushing them to store more of their faily pics in the cloud like OneDrive or Google Drive. In the past they've lost some pics from hard drives going bad, so this'll be a good thing. I put off buying the laptop for my wife so we can focus on finishing some of the bathrooms in our new house. Thanks again dudes. See you soon.
  12. Hey folks. I could use a little help picking a good 2-in-1 ultrabook/tablet for my wife and brother in law. My wife's old laptop is really old and needs to be replaced. My brother-in-law helped me tremendously when I was building my house. Pretty much took a week off work to help me put down the hardwood floors. I want to thank him with a much needed replacement for his home PC. So anyway, it's been a while since I've shopped for a computer. I see Intel Atom and Intel Haswell and really don't know what that means anymore. In short I'm looking for a Windows 8.1 PC where the keyboard is either removable or flips around like the Dell XPS12. Beyond that I want it to be fast, but neither my wife nor B-I-L need a screaming-fast machine. Internet, email, Word, Excel. That's it. Maybe the kids will play some simple games. No Star Citizen So if you guys have any recommendations I would really appreciate it. Some of the ones I was looking at: http://www.asus.com/us/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_Transformer_Book_T300LA/ http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-12-9q33/pd?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn I don't like the Lenovo Yoga series because when you flip the screen over, the keyboard is exposed...as opposed to the Dell setup which is nice. Lastly, my budget is ~$1500 max per device but I think I could do much better since these don't have to be state of the art. Thanks!!! Pete
  13. Anyone know if any of these larger transport ships would be able to carry other ships as the "cargo"? Almost like the car carriers you see on the highway. Maybe a mission could be to transport a load of Hornets to a system where they are in short supply.
  14. Hey guys, I finally dusted off the ole Saitek X-52 for Arena Commander. Much to my dismay I had issues with the yaw control. When I went to the Windows Game Controller properties I could see it registering a right-hand yaw, 30% at all times, very shaky. Unfortunately there's no software utility I could find that'd recalibrate it. I did some digging around the net and found the following video where this guy shows you how to take apart the joystick to expose the Potentiometer where you spray this stuff you get at Radio Shack called DeoxIT D5. After doing that I have zero rudder issue. Awesome. So, without further adieu, here's the video. Hope you find this helpful: http://youtu.be/4ZGEmbJ7JuI
  15. Hello Imperium! My name is Pete but I go by "Cray-Z" in-game. I'm from New Jersey and can't wait to get started with SC. I'm late to the SC bandwagon as this last year was a big crazy. Had our 1st child and built our new home at the same time. Anyway, I've been involved in a few orgs in other games but nothing this big. I'm excited to be a part of the team. Personally I'll enjoy hauling sentitive cargo flanked by security so Imperium can extend its reach. Looking forward to chatting with you! Cray-Z
