  1. Are these guys trolling, I seriously cannot tell!? "The M beats the P" "they can probably hold 5 or more Constellations and many similar of that ship. I'd expect us to have around 3-8 of those in our fleet in the beginning"
  2. The M wasn't "made" for ship to ship combat, it is capable of it. Though it is only marginally less capable (than the P) in anti-fighter/bomber role. To actually attack a cap ship multiple M's would be required. The M though would make larger bombers and space dominance fighters think twice about going head2head with their ship. Of course no one should expect that a pair of gladiators would stand a chance against the P or M, even if the Idris was AI crewed. Factor in that if your clan has an idris you've probably got some friends to watch your back. So the engagements will never be Idris vs X, it will be Idris + 2 Super hornets + 2 Connie escorts + Stealth hornet scout ship + ECM hornet vs OPFOR. Lots of people on here seem to think this game has to be rock, paper, scissors, but life isn't that simple, occasionally it's a shit sandwich and you're options are get fucked or get out of the way. Bearcat made a lot of good points and I agree with them, we backed because CR made good games and he wanted our support making another one. He didn't say hey guys support my vision of a new Baseball game; he's explicitly stated time and time again that this game will be the evolutionary successor to WC and Freelancer, stop trying to fight that under the guise of improving the game.
  3. I hear ya Archang3ll, I like the scalable reward model where the more you "take part" in the game and exhibit skill the more you are rewarded. Those lacking skill will most likely complain though, as I'm sure they do all day while sucking at life in general.
  4. We don't want to wreck peoples nerves just trying to land or dock there ship ;-)
  5. The Emperor does indeed protect his faithful servants.
  6. Hey if you guys know anyone, or you yourself haven't started playing World of Tanks yet I've got an invite code that starts you off with a bunch of gold. It's free for anyone who PM's me however you MUST be starting a new account. I assumed it was a gift of sorts but nope new accounts only. If you want to utilize it follow these instructions: The Emperor Protects
  7. There was a Dakar to Cairo in 2000 and it's probably my favorite due to the bikes/rules/route. The traditional route is a variation of Paris to Dakar. As previously mentioned muslim terrorists threatened to attack the racers, ultimate fun police those guys are, so they moved it to south america but the race has lost some of its sole and it now truly is just a race, no longer an adventure.
  8. But you were with IFOR right, or has the chopper not been updated with the SFOR marikings? What year were you there, and where were you stationed? Had a lot of friends go, I didn't join the Army until '03 at 17 so I pretty much started training and deploying to Afghanistan, but I know a few people were still deploying for Bosnia-Herz in '04
  9. Is North Africa a different country from Africa? Or is it like a State?
  10. Can't wait for World of Warplanes to come out. I've never been suckered so hard by a pay model before but meh, I mean once you spend $500 on imaginary ships for a game two years away, perspectives get a little skewed.
  11. As Space Marines and avid FPS gamers we'll definitely be focusing on up close and personal assaults.
  12. Love to ride sand, I can go down to Oregon to do it, but usually I just trek out to Baja and ride there, because lets be honest that place is racing Mecca for Dual-sport riders in North America. If I was in Europe it would have to be the Cairo to Dakaar route as the holy grail of riding. New Years 2012 in Baja
  13. Chainswords on bolters a la Gears of War, and jump packs for our assault marines.
  14. If nothing else ramming anything with a Idris is gonna leave a mark.
  15. Though many have heard the voice of the Emperor's loyal Adeptus Astartes, I now give purpose to that voice. The Black Templars Crusade fleet led by Marshal Afghanicus has been charged with purging the Xeno threat from Imperium space, all heretics and traitors will also be purged; none shall stand in the face of the Emperors righteous fury, his divine justice, his Black Templars. We are coming... Our Vows: 1. Suffer Not the Unclean to Live Those who fashion themselves pirates and live off the blood of the Imperium are Choas tainted filth, and shall be purged. 2. Uphold the Honour of the Emperor Before his enshrinement within the Golden Throne of Terra, Chris Roberts was a mortal, no longer... by his will alone the forces of choas and our universe are held together. In his name we serve. 3. Abhor the Witch. Destroy the Witch All Xeno's must be destroyed. 4.Accept Any Challenge, No Matter the Odds Whether it be between our Champion and a Challenger, or at the call of the Imperium, Victory or Death we see His divine will done. The Crusade Fleet is led by Marshal Afghanicus onboard the Eternal Crusader, while Castellan Bocephus leads assualts from the Divine Retribution. Emperors Champion Boagruis stands ready to answer any challenge with Powerfist, Bolter, His Hornet Chapter's Sword, or his Constellation Emperor's Wrath. The Chapters honours and exploits are documented by Chaplain Mekon who also routes out the taint of Choas. Below us are numerous loyal Black Tempars from our newly proven Initiates to our veteran Sword Brethren. All have numerous ships to ensure that at any time we may answer his call. Though we do not accept requests to join, those who prove themselves may be honoured with an offer of Initiate status, all others will begin as Neophytes serving on Templar ships until the sponsoring Initiate petitions to see them inducted into our ranks. For those who hear our battle cry "No Pity! No Remorse! No Fear!" the Emperor has deemed you beyond redemption and his loyal Black Templars come for you. "Trust in the Emperor at the hour of battle. Trust to him to intercede, and protect his warriors true as they deal death on alien soil. Turn their seas to red with the blood of their slain. Crush their hopes, their dreams. And turn their songs into cries of lamentation." - "Uphold the honour of the Emperor", vow of the Black Templars
  16. Just drive by scoop him up with your carrier everyone seems to think they'll have, I imagine it will look like this (Nemo is the Vanduul, Dora is the bait hornet)
  17. Welcome Spectre23 Is the Imperium about to turn into the 1st Mormon fleet? I knew a lot of space cadets came out of Utah but damn this is crazy. And I'm done. Exhausted all my knowledge of Utah. Actually I just realized the Moab is in Utah ! As a jeep freak and dirt biker I can honestly say that is on my definite to go list. It would be nice to not crash into a huge tree every time I go off the trail. In Canada snow is just another type of dirt to ride.
  18. First off hello Somnium, I notice you're BWC in MW:O badass buddy, love their lore in the BT universe. Secondly I agree that the tasks should make sense and be challenging to reward skill at piloting. They need to also be varied enough that a "gas harvester" isn't gonna be necessarily the best "miner" or "prospector" etc...
  19. I honestly didn't know the Netherlands had AH-64's. I certainly didn't know they were in the A-stan. I fought beside some Dutchmen and I gotta say a unionized army is just weird! The guys had beards, piercings, tattoos... looked like damn pirates. I fuckin loved it! and it pissed off every pompous britt/canadian (canadians are wannabe britts) officer. Hard fighters and good guys. Emperors's Champion Boagrius played on FC Groenigen's B-Squad when he was 16, he's Canadian but speak dutch as well from his time there. I've spent alot of time in Apeldoorn, love Holland and the people.
  20. So you'll fly cap in your P52 while the Constellation mines? Seems like you'd still be pretty vulnerable unless you did it in groups. Overall though I think players should get a choice of more difficulty for greater reward. Rather than capping at a very low level, if you can't tell I hate grinding, that's why I don't play many MMO's even modern FPS's are turning into grinds.
  21. Fresh back from Afghanistan so the gear felt natural. We were actually just tracking moose and hunting grouse, I was doing some target shooting as well. There's a .308(7.62mm) Remington 700 SPS on my back for the medium stuff. There were a lot of wolves out and about this year and the .223 (5.56mm) Ar-15 is good for them. The Emperors Champion proved why he's the champ when he snap shot a grouse's neck off while on wing(flying) with a .22 from 30 yards in the bamboo (thick foilage), wouldn't have believed it without seeing it.
  22. Some Black Templars prior to donning the Armour in service of our Emperor (I served the Queen)
  23. Here's the problem with the "Call of Duty B/S," it's a style of play, I know a lot of FPS guys that even if you have Power Armour, or no recharging health they will still essentially rush you and roll you with 30 rounds to your head in a split second. They're FPS'ers that's what they do, so if you don't like that idea you better be a damn good pilot and not get boarded. Or automated defenses like the Emperor suggested. Here's the reality, a lot of the older crowd that signed during the kickstarter (calm down take a breath) are not gonna like it when day 1 the CoD and BF:BC kids show up and roll them in FPS style combat. Don't give me the I'm gonna practice line, these guys eat sleep and breath FPS, drop $60 on every Black Ops iteration and then buy DLC. You've bought a ship and you've got time to become good at flying it, that's gonna be your value/fun/equalizer. If you think you're gonna control FPS combat mechanics you're gonna be disappointed.
  24. We play as the TR on Helios Server, our team (TR) always goes for the crown and gets wasted while The Black Templars go on a spree capping and scoring usually 10K points/hour at a minimum, 20K is also pretty common. We opened our team up once to the public (Not BLKT) and that was a mistake, our military members use the net like a normal military battle net i.e. no banter, you want social games go play WoW. And lets just say I'm the more "diplomatic" among my guys (and I've still got 2 warnings ) my troops aren't as nice when they tell you to can it.
