  1. I got a Logitech G930 for a graduation present, it was like $150. I don't recommend it unless it is on sale (~$100 maybe less). It has great sound and emulated 7.1 surround (sounds very good, but its definitely not true surround.), very sturdy and wireless. 3 programmable buttons, a mute button, surround button and a volume slider. Boom mic mutes when vertical. The reason I don't recommend this is because of the charging cord. The battery is fine, but the microUSB to charge it's nearly destroyed and its only been a year. I don't own the G35 (the wired version) but if the only difference is the cord, I say that's a perfect headset right there. Wireless I can go upstairs and make a sandwich and still talk to friends, which is cool I guess. Might want a little more of a real 7.1 surround for star citizen though, which I'm sure you can buy for this price. I'm vouching for the Logitech G35 at the right price. This one is almost there at ~$100. Again, not true 7.1 surround.
  2. I'm living with ddr2 4gb I guess anything will be better lol. I'll get some nice priced ram that matches the theme of my case then. The announcement of dx12 is making me want to wait even longer to decide on a gpu. Again, the only reason the 650ti is on that list is because I own one already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @Gremlich I will totally try that. I tried to do it manually, and didn't see much difference. Probably because the Zotac Firestorm didn't like my motherboard or something odd. As a side question, what do you guys think about the dual graphics AMD offers? is it worth getting an APU rather than a CPU to take advantage of that?
  4. Thanks for the tip! Shipping is harsh so getting it all at ncix would be golden. Not to mention I'm like an hour or two drive away.
  5. Maybe waiting for the next installation of AMDs GPUs is a good idea then. Is there any idea when something like that will come out? I can deal with my little 650 Ti for now.
  6. Awesome info, thanks! I originally had an AMD 8350 rather than a 9590 on this list because it was $100 cheaper and looked to easily OC to the same/better. I don't know why I switched to Intel, I can't remember. Must be a reason I am forgetting. I have not checked if the rad will bump into the RAM yet, that's a good point. The C70 case is pretty roomy so I'm hoping. Mantle is something I believe in so going with AMD is not a problem, especially if I wait for the newest model from them. I want to go overboard with the cooling in the future so I don't mind if they're a little warm. Samsung SSD sounds good. I'll see what I can find for an ASUS mobo and I will make an edit to this post.
  7. Sorry, I guess I didn't write in that the 650 Ti is what is in my computer now. I can't recall where I read it, but I read somewhere that SC will require an unreleased GPU or two current high end ones on the full release to run smoothly on highest settings. So, a GPU is something I might wait on, maybe get two nice priced 780 later on. I'll start looking into a larger SSD. I've heard about the grief smaller ones have caused before. My friend is running on an 80Gb. As for the cooling system, I should double then triple check the performance of it stock. I threw that one in there because it can be turned into a custom loop pretty easily I've heard.
  8. Hi! I've been scouring the internet and piecing together a computer which I hope will run SC at maximum with decent frame rate. I post here to see what people think about what I've chosen and if I have made any glaring mistakes. Firstly the reason I need a new computer to begin with is because I own a near stock 2008 HP Pavilion from Staples. (I changed OS, PSU and GPU) It has done well over the years and I can mosey about the Business Hangar at a steady 15fps. I'd buy from them again; however, I want to try to make a computer myself this time. The parts I've picked are: CPU: Intel I7 I7-4770k Quad-Core 3.5GHz OC @ 4.X-5.0GHz ($325) CPU COOLING: Swiftech H220 ($150) GPU: Zotac Nvidia GTX 650 Ti (This is where I need help I think). RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8Gb DDR3-1866 ($160) !PRICEY! STORAGE: Intel 335-series 180Gb SSD + my old 500Gb HDD ($120) MOBO: G1.Sniper Z87 ATX PGA-1150 ($148) PSU: Corsair 650W ($96) CASE: Corsair C70 Green ($98) Current Total: $1100 including all the combos/rebate as of posting date Ignore the R9 290. I don't own it and I'm not sure about any GPU ATM. SLI/crossfire is definitely on my mind. I want to try and make this as future proof as possible.I plan on streaming and doing some photo/video editing with this PC so if anyone has used these parts before or recommends a piece I'd love the feedback! Thanks for reading! Edit: CPU: AMD FX-8350 ($180) CPU COOLING: Swiftech H220 ($150) GPU: Probably AMDs next gen or r9290x RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 2x8Gb DDR3-1866 ($160) STORAGE: Samsung 840 Pro 256Gb ($200) MOBO: Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 ATX AM3+ ($178) PSU: SeaSonic 760W ($175) CASE: Corsair C70 Green ($98) PRICE: ~$1200 Link

  10. I turned to my friend while making an elf character for a game that was just released and asked him what he would name an elf. I'm so original.
