Thanks, I just made a build that almost doubles my dps, now I just need to grind 160k lol. Unfortunately I'm currently suffering from a bug that makes me unable to retrieve my ship... Btw, @Sanforce is Imperium organizing trainings etc. for new players? Feel like I need to polish my flight skills a bit, haven't played space sims in years and would be fun to do it with other org members. Have been more of an fps guy the last years.

ScavengerSan started following GPUs you will be using for star citizen, The Anvil Super Hornet, want to play 3.12 but cpu and ram constantly at 100% with new update and 2 others
-
hey, just started playing again after a hiatus of a few years and was wondering what the current optimal loadout is for the super hornet? People seem to rip through my shields like they're paper and i can pepper them with bullets and lasers for ages and still not get through their shields. I'd love some advice from people who have played more.

Quick update: Havent tried a system restore yet. However I fixed my cooling, which stopped the overheating (old watercooling was drawing too much air). Sadly enough, even with disabling all the foip functions (read in the comments of bug reports that that could draw resources, even when no camera was connected), it still draws 100% cpu all the time. Framerate is about 45ish in PU but much higher in Marine or Dogfight. GPU use is about 50 to 70 on Very High, with some spikes here and there.

@Gremlich Thanks for responding! What do you mean exactly with "locked on overclock settings"? I hadn't played SC in a couple of months, it wasn't this bad in the last patch I played, as far as I know. I checked task manager but I had disabled all background programs and unnecessary stuff, and it still goes to 100% every single time. When I do an offline dogfight, everything is butter smooth. I get some frame drops on Area18, but still quite playable. Just 100% CPU load all the time.

Melee and heavy weapons and out of ship combat Star Citizen?
ScavengerSan replied to lolgen's topic in Military
Do you think this would apply to everything in a ship's interior? If you think about it, small arms shouldn't be able to penetrate a ship's hull because a hull should be resistant to micro-asteroids and other spaceborne objects moving at high velocities (micro-asteroids often have velocities faster than bullets). Fuel tanks and generator cores and such should also have a certain degree of armor for obvious reasons. But electronic components (life support, navcomputer,..) should be more vulnerable because they require conduits and cablework to function properly. I wonder if these will also be p -

Or maybe a classic (virtue) one, like ISS Intrepid or ISS Perseverance. Maybe one from the Star Wars books I used to read. I remember the Imperial ship having really badass names. I think they had names like Executor or Praetorian. Let's all name 'em after flowers It would be pretty cool, in it's own way. ISS Dandelion

My main issue is that somehow, recent releases from major devs ALWAYS need serious updates after they release them. I know it's hard to find every bug in a game, but with BF4, in the first two months, the program just freaked out half the time. I also agree with zealpath on the topic that a lot of great studios have met their end under EA supervision. on the other hand, it's not easy to continue innovating. But a little more effort would be appreciated.

I'm not sure yet but I wanna make it something funny so the last thing an enemy thinks before my Super Hornet blows 'em apart is......wtf?......

Ongoing Discussion GPUs you will be using for star citizen
ScavengerSan replied to Rand_Mckikas's topic in Hardware
I have a GTX 580. If i run Hangar on max settings, the framerate isn't playable anymore. Problem is, if I Get a better GPU, I'll have to replace my motherboard too for PCIe 3.0. I wonder if I should also upgrade my CPU. I have i5 2500 3.30Ghz. -
I was wondering if it would be meaningful to already start practicing maneuvers and comms and stuff in another game, but with similar physics as SC will have. I've got a feeling we'll still have to wait a while for DFM and my triggerfinger is gettin' itchy Is anyone already doing this or not? And if you are, what game are you using?
