    first thing is, learn how to make credits in game, after you got your income, start with pvp. I start with avenger look for small fast trading and bounty hunting.

    10 T cargo is not bad , and avenger can be a very intressting smuggler ship too. For small but expensive goods, can fly fast with this engine is a light one and hard one, i plan the same with avenger.

    When you like the constellation so much get one we will test the game long enough. Can find out how its fly, i will try it long enough, and reclaim it get another one try it, maybe you dont like constellation when you fly it. And need big credits for a big ship, i will start in cheaper ships get some uec s and buy the constellation later maybe.

    I would wait until another specialized mining salvaging ship comes out, just get your alfa beta access ship for now

    I would say, get a aurora package with alfa beta access and wait until the shiny ships come out.

    the developer will make a free handle name change for one time. Later in game the change of this uniq name costs 15$

    The ghost is for me a scout ship, you can discover thing without getting detected. Hmm Like a rogue , sorry but like this, ambush ship.. Something like a covert ops cloacked recon ship in eve online. Not a big firepower but hard to detect low heat , very hard to lock on with missiles and like this.

    I like cutlass too, it will come with astroid hangar, the ship is great, you can even transport 10 t cargo, can fight better than freelancer. Cant say faster because freellancer have very nice engines. But more agility on cutlass. Can make some escort missions when the hauling goods get boring. Many many many upgrade slots, You can install some smugler cargos, maybe. only speculating.
