I just cant see myself buying this game. When I buy a game that is not an MMO I expect to be able to play it as long as it is supported by my operating system. How long will they really maintain their servers to allow play? I may be in an extreme minority here, but I don't want to buy a game that I'm not interested in being online or multiplayer and have that game basically have an expiration date. Shame, I used to play the crap out of SimCity.

Just got this email from RSI and did not see a mention of it here. The maximum character limit for the ID cards has been reduced from 26 to 21. If your card had more characters than 21 you need to log into your account and update your name for the card. I have included the email text below, but they do not specify a due date - so check your email and update ASAP! "Greetings Citizen, As we are finalizing the list for your Citizen Card, we have had to reduce the character limit. We did say 26 characters, however, some characters are wider than others which is causing a problem. We are unable to adjust the font size for each card so to be safe we have adjusted the character limit to 21. Please re-enter your name on the form here. Shorter names and all caps actually look best. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your extra diligence. We want all the cards to look great! Best from all of us at RSI"

Those look like solid buys, I just got a Razer mouse and I recommend them to everyone. Only thing I can suggest is if you also type a lot along with gaming you should consider a mechanical keyboard. Some can be pretty expensive but they are an absolute joy to use. I got this bad boy as a Christmas gift http://www.amazon.com/Azio-Levetron-Mechanical-Keyboard-KB577U/dp/B008CXTW5G it's a bit gaudy and I don't think I would have picked it out for myself but I absolutely love the feel, macro buttons, and the customization with the movable 10-key pad and the extra macro buttons over the F keys.

Used to play SimCity all the time. Is the game playable online, or always online? Big difference whether or not I consider buying it.

I'm not expecting it, but it would be cool if you could create your NPC's and have them level up as you progress. One of the consequences if you die could be that your NPC's die and you have to train replacements. Plus, I could create Glenn from Swamp People to be my wing-man, which would be ideal.

Sorry if this was asked before, but I know a very large portion of our fleet pledged for ships that can contain a crew. So, if there is not a large quantity of people at launch who join our fleet without a ship, are NPC's going to populate the ships? Has there been any mention of this anywhere?

Just wondering from those pictures in the link... are people using their real name for these cards? Am I the only one that put just the user name on it?

I'll probably end up buying it, but more so to create an excuse to buy better PC hardware than the game itself.
