Star Citizen Crowd-Funding Plummets Post-LTI Deadline
Nelurek replied to Reavern's topic in General Discussion
People will start spending money once there is something new to buy. I don't think the lack of LTI will have a significant impact. CIG could rake in a boat load of cash selling expansions and things for the hangar, on-world property, weapon kits for ships, life-time pass to the public transport system, etc. I am sure they can come up with ways to part us from our cash easily enough... -
Ongoing Discussion GPUs you will be using for star citizen

I am currently using an AMD HD7870. I plan to treat myself to a nice Christmas present in 2014 in the form of a new video card for SC.. -
Perhaps the elevator in the deluxe hangar will go up to a top floor. You activate a telescopic platform which extends to your hovering banu ship or equivalent.

The information runner might be a good profession for those that have unpredictable playing hours. Sounds like you might be able to jump in game, pick up and mission, and run with it. Little need to coordinate with others, etc.. At the very least, an interesting side-profession.
-
Speaking of upgrades and mods, I wouldn't put it past CIG to offer pledge packages for weapons upgrades or mod kits for various roles. Once they've created and balanced more assets post-dog fighting module, I reckon we might start to see those sorts of things in the online store.
-
I agree that it may need some tweaking, but I love the direction they're going with it. I have faith they'll incorporate the community feedback and modify as needed.

I want mine on a landing pad outside my hanger. Then I can jump in a buggy and drive out to it. Perhaps I'll hook up a trailer to the buggy for my luggage, too.
-
I caved in and got one, too. Still have my starfarer, though!
-
I am looking forward to the FPS piece of salvaging. You board a derelict ship in search of tech/resources and get jumped by giant space bugs or something. I am paraphrasing, but there was a comment on Wingman's Hanger about "something made those ships derelict in the first place..."
-
The Banu ship looks great, but I retain high hopes for the starfarer. I'm keeping mine.
-
Haha! You have another whole year of ship releases before PU beta to survive.. I feel like my hanger is a chop shop already!
-
Yeah, LTI isn't a big deal. I think the price for standard hull insurance will be minimal compared to the cost of insuring ship upgrades and cargo. LTI will result in saving a few credits, but I'd be surprised if it was substantial.
-
I wonder how difficult it will be to obtain these ships in game. Is it just a matter of amassing the appropriate number of credits or will there be a faction/reputation requirement? ... just thinking out loud.
-
Good choice! Also, based on what the RSI site says, it looks like you can mount a class 4 turret on the class 5 hardpoint negating some of the need for a second crewman. At least, that is how I read it.

Check out Ted Beargeon's developer thread to see what he's thinking about with respect to the Starfarer. I don't know how much of it will make it into the actual game, but he's certainly thinking of the Starfarer having far more flexibility than a fuel hauler... I picked one up today because I think it will be pretty versatile.

Yeah, I'd like to say I am done with buying ships, but I am sure CIG has just the carrot to wave in front of me in the coming year... For now, I plan to rig one of my existing ships for mining.
-
I don't know how my flying skills will stack up against most, but I hope there is plenty to do in the 'verse for people who are not so good at dog fighting/twitch skills.

For me the LX is better as I don't plan to use it as a fighter; I have the F7C for that. If I only had one ship, and I was going to be dog-fighting and such in it, then the LN would be a better option. The Aurora LX is going to be my "getting to know the game" expendable ship. It can do it all, just not very well. Once I learn the ropes, I'll be risking my more expensive ships and use the LX for emergencies or as a shuttle.
-
I imagine the blueprints are informational more than functional. However, they may give you insight into what sections of those ships you should target during combat to cripple critical systems, etc.

It's Here!!! Anniversary Sale Details - Roberts Space Industries

The 350 is better in several ways except for cargo space, so I'd go with the 350. Edit: Plus it's damn sexy! -
Thanks for re-posting. Interesting stuff!

Welcome to the fleet, Silverbane.
