  1. Hard at work...

  2. I do believe that the 300i can fly in the atmosphere of a planet, as it has enough wing surface (at least it seems so), and the weight can be countered also by the thrusters. From what I know, the rhomboidal design is currently being researched as it would make the transport of large planes easier (for example, to transport to other planets atmosphere). How far into the future that is, I don't know, but the concept is there, and it is being developed. As for the M50, yes, the wings are there for the looks. And I do support the no wing designs. See the Normandy SR1/2, that could land on planets without having wings (Mass Effect).
  3. I agree with you both, as probably we would have to deal with pirates to sell those anyway. And we should not deal with pirates. We should kill them and collect their bounties over their dead bodies.
  4. Not to mention that a 60Hz monitor would have difficulty working so fast as to make it look good. So, I don't think that 400 kps will actually look like 400 kps. It is probably just to make it look good. But no way it will be really 400 kps.
  5. Welcome Puddlemencer. I am sure that you will be able to satiate your lust in this forum, as we have a lot of people willing to discuss pretty much anything.
  6. It is a nice idea, but... The thing about being able to go anywhere can't work in the game. If you can get everywhere by just jumping, there is no point in trade routes, and pirates. You just go to A, jump, B, jump, C... While if it takes to long (for long distances) it will brake the gameplay, and the point of exploring . So, I think that this idea is a good one, if it is limited to as few systems away as possible. As for the wormhole... I don't know if you have seen Battlestar Gallactica, but that is what I have in mind by jumping. You are limited by time between jumps, fuel, and distance, and only one ship jumps. If you want to jump with the carrier, you have to be in the carrier. So, no wormhole, and this way smaller craft have to be in the larger. This is what I think would work, and still leave you the possibilities of pirates and trade routes.
  7. God, do you remember the change between Medieval I and Rome I? That game was astonishing, and it is still great. I mean... you could place units on walls, for Gods sake!
  8. On... vacations... rightnow... Me...Cannot...think...

  9. If it is going to be the case, and a ships are going to cost that much, I'll have nothing against it, as very few people will buy ships this way, and the ones that do will be giving a rather big boost for CIG(which means, that they : a) can afford it b )want to support CIG). But yeah, CR said something about it, not being able to buy lots and lots of credits and stuff, I think it was somewhere on the E3 with a German interviewer if I remember right.
  10. I agree with Corwin Arzak, having no skill tree is a lot of fun. I don't know if you have played it, but in X3 Reunion, Terran Conflict, or Albion Prelude there is no skill tree whatsoever, and it is still very fun, though it might not be an MMORPG. All you do depends on your own skill, not some numbers, and you have to see where to buy, where to sell, and who to engage in combat, not by your level, but by your equipment and skill to observe and do everything else.
  11. Here is my two cents. I am not a big fan of MMORPG games, but I decided to try Battlestar Gallactica Online. Nice game by the way, but I did not want to pay, so I thought, what the hell! You can get everything other people pay for just by working in-game! Well, I was incredibly wrong. You can, of course, but it would take you about TWO MONTHS of playing at least 4 hours a day to achieve what other guys achieve by paying about 20$ (I made up the price, I can't really remember, but it was something along those lines). So, it is not enough to not make specific content that has to be paid for. If you want to have items for sale for real life money, and you want everyone to be happy (which is impossible), you have to strike a really hard balance. Because the difference between having to buy a ship, and having to work for it for 300 hours (if it is not one of the top tier of course, I was talking about some light-medium ship in the example) is non existent.
  12. Brotherhood. Fellowship. Gathering. Group. Alliance. Federation. Empire. There's got to be something...
