  1. Hehehehehehe. Amazing! Make sure when you look at the post on RSI to open holo viewer on it. It's populated with some fun stuff. Melted down the 350r, and Freelancer for it, but totally worth it. Did anyone else get irrationally giddy when it said "pocket space craft"? I just foresee 2 different uses for me personally. 1: Early scrapping operation (aka. what do you mean they weren't dead yet). Using the claw to initiate a salvage party, where some would call it a boarding party. 2: Pocket carrier (aka. did those really just fly out of there?!). Refitting the hardened cargo bay to allow smaller ships (hornet/300/m50/aroura/avenger) to launch from it, essentially making the RC into a small carrier. This has another interesting possibility. The "pocket space craft" mentioned earlier, mayhaps they be the same size as the p52? So we could just launch a swarm (5-10) of p52s to harass other ships. Either way makes me smile. Muhahahahahahahaha Of course there's one more thing I've thought about. Using it as an exploration vessel would be very fun too. The scanners you'd be able to mount to this thing would be incredible, and with 2x size 6 power plants you could overclock them for optimal scanning range. Also with the pocket carrier scenario, you could have your jump point mapping ship stored inside until needed, and one or two "personal" defense ships. Cheers!
  2. There for a little bit I was worried about hangar space for the MM. There was a Dev answer that stated the MM would not fit in the Asteroid hangar. It only took a few days of forum flaming when Ben posted up that it would fit in the Asteroid hangar. Now to have confirmation that not only will it fit, it's the MM's starting hangar! That rocks!! So long Cutlass! From the concept images avalible the MM seems like a much better artistic fit with the Asteroid hangar. It would look out of place with the Deluxe (or whatever it's called now, Orville Redenbacker or something similar ). Much like how the Avenger and M50 look out of place in the Asteroid hangar. There's no black oil hand print on the M50 where you pull your self back up from underneath it. As a muscle car owner, you can tell the guy that works on it him self, and the guy that just pays to have it worked on. Anyway I digress. Ben = Awesome. BMM = Awesome. Cutlass = Melty pile of future ship purchase. Cheers!
  3. As a note, the top two pictures of Draegar's post are old they represent a path not taken and was part of the issue several pages back where everyone was saying that it was flying backwards. They're interesting for sure, but don't represent the current state. Cheers! @Dragon-Knight I personally like either the giant honking space gun, or the spikey antenna structures. Though if the fin gives it "better" radar/scanner abilities I'm all for it. This is most likely my "daily-driver" for exploration. Especially with the navigational table!
  4. Yes, embrace the space whale! Roving packs of space orcas! Muhahahahahahahahahaha!
  5. Good morning everyone! So something important I found out, the SSD is not mounted from the factory (no drive letter), so you can't use it. The 25GB partition I was seeing is another recovery partition. I made a quick video on how to fix this, and what it looks like out of the box (partitions anyway). Also I updated the top post with another video I made last night, it's a bit more polished than the last one. Edit: The link for the SSD fix can also be found in the first post. Cheers!
  6. @Nip and @dr_pepper97 don't get me wrong, this is no replacement for a well made gaming desktop. I needed a new laptop for work and school, and decided to find one that I could still game while on the road with. I run triple 22" monitors on my desktop and I'm definitely not giving those up anytime soon! Also this helps me be a bit more flexible on the LAN party front. Cheers!
  7. This is my new desktop background! The more I see of this ship the more it solidifies my stance on having bought it. I can't wait to get in this ship!! Loving the style, aged, but beautiful and something to take pride in! Great work CIG!!!!!! @hammer yeah, it's gonna be way pricey, that's of course assuming that it's readily available when persistent hits. I would imagine any of the alien ships are going to be a bit of a quest to find for sale. Especially this one since it would be equivalent to buying the family farm that's been passed from father to son for generations.
  8. I've got a number of different brands as well... and a number of different devices. If you count the components of my desktop (AMD, Sapphire, ASUS, G. Skill, Seagate, Antec, Broadcom, Rosewill) my pehriprials (Dell [Monitors],CM Storm [mouse], Z-Board [keyboard], Microsoft [360 controller], Saitek [x52 Hotas], Whitebox [360 wireless controler usb adapter], Senheiser [open headphones, no mic], Klipsch [my lovely bluetooth headphones, closed with mic]) and my travel rig (Lenovo [y510p Laptop], Logitech [Mouse]). That is 18 different brands! So yes, I feel you! Cheers!
  9. @Exitre I agree to some extent. Most everything we pass by in DFM will be rendered at much lower geometry, everything in the hangar is at max poly count. But yes, it'll be interesting either way to see what DFM does to our machines. I know I can't wait!! @3per 24GB is a bit small, but windows is actually installed on the spinning disk. You get 25.3GB (as shown in My Computer) of space to fully play with, only the drivers and recovery image is on it (simple to burn to a dual layer disk though). You can find refurbished i7 models on eBay for a lot less, mine from here was $839.00 and still gets a 1 year Lenovo warranty. I do plan on getting a 256GB or higher mSATA drive to replace the 24GB, but until Star Citizen grows to fill it I'll stick to the little one. I play other games, but the only other one I want to load quickly would be X-Planes or MS Flight Sim and with scenery they're well over 40GB. Cheers!
  10. Hey guys! I wanted to start this topic to help anyone looking for a compatible laptop (that doesn't break the bank) for Star Citizen. After months of research I found the Lenovo y510p. Depending on the model it comes with an i5 or i7, GeForce 750m or 755m, and is able to use a second GPU by way of the "UltraBay" for SLi. I did a quick (no audio) benchmark in Star Citizen with the i7, 755m version. I only had the one card in it when I did this. When I get the add-on card I'll do another benchmark, and when DFM drops expect another video or 10 . I posted pictures of it in the "Post your rig" topic, but figured that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start a new topic for laptops that can play. In my research there wasn't much information, so I kind of took a leap in the dark on this, but it works amazingly well! Cheers everyone! Ohh, and here's the YouTube link. Edit 1: I've got a new video up for 720p on low settings. These are the settings I find most playable. There will be another video coming soon with 720 and 1080 in their various graphics qualities. I just wanted to get something more polished up for now. Cheers! Edit 2: Link for the SSD fix and partition configurations can be found here. The SSD is not mounted from the factory, so you can't actually install anything on it until you do this. Cheers!

    Ongoing Discussion Post Your Rig!

@Alex. It's the standard Lenovo y510p i7 edition. The sticker is the logo for my computer repair business. I should be able to post that YouTube video up on Friday. I'll update the original post, and probably make a new thread about it too. Cheers! Edit: Had a bit of time today, so here it is. Sorry for the lack of audio commentary. Next time I'll take the time and make one. Cheers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcY30_h4gSs&feature=youtu.be

Just got my new Star Citizen compatible laptop!! It actually runs hangar module amazingly well! I'll post up a YouTube video of it in the next few days. And Specs: i7 4700mq @ 2.4GHz 8 GB Ram 24 GB LiteOn SSD (mSATA, this will soon be updated, but Star Citizen fits comfortably for now) 1 TB 5400RPM (C: Drive) Nvidia Geforce 755m 2GB (This does have the ability to slide in an additional card [sLI] via the Ultra Bay, I do have one on order but it'll be over a week before I get it) Very nice 1920x1080 Glossy Screen THE BEST DARNED SPEAKERS I'VE EVER HAD ON A LAPTOP! (Though for gaming I'll be using my Klipsch Image One Bluetooth Headset) For under $1000 you can find this on Lenovo's website. I'm so far very, very impressed with it. Again, I'll be posting up some play videos with single card performance in the Hangar module and DFM later this month. Can't Wait!!
