  1. I once mistakenly bough a Carrack Expedition w/ C8X to Perseus, and realized there was no way I would be able to buy the an CCU to the Carrack Expedition w/ C8X since it was only sold I guess once or maybe a pack, I just don't want to make a similar mistake like that.... the Sabre Comet seems a bit suspiciously similar to me. I remember there is a Sabre variant that was only sold once.
  2. Really CIG didn't like the CCU game, they should really change their attitude towards that. I believe the CCU game is what consist of their more regular funds coming in, since the whales that would buys whole ships at a time would probably only buy during big sales event and funding would not be as regular. Besides the CCU game is the way people like me get sucked in more and more into further funding the game, and at the same time convincing myself in completing my fleet but finding my fleet getting bigger and bigger every year. Without the CCU game, I would have contented myself to just getting a prospector or a vulture, and even if I want to further fund the game, I'd probably would not be able to justify purchasing any further small ships as I do not want to have multiple small ships, i know some people would but a lot would feel it being a bit excessive. BTW @Chimaera, would you know for certain if the Sabre Comet is ever on sale on IAE or ILW or at least once every year?
  3. So far I checked in Spectrum and couldn't find any mention of a price increase nor a recent mention of Orion or Hull D
  4. Is there any truth about the new price increases mentioned in Erad*Prime's video F7C-M from 180 to 185 (+5) Taurus from 190 to 200 (+10) Aquila from 310 to 315 (+5) Redeemer from 325 to 330 (+5) Orion from 575 to 650 (+75) Hull D from 450 to 550 (+100) Regardless I will need to secure some Taurus CCUs before it adds a $10 loss to all of my chains that requires it. Would anybody know for certain if the Sabre Comet is ever on sale? cause it's the only $5 CCU going to the Taurus and I need to be certain that I would be able purchase and put to buy back a Sabre Comet CCU this IAE if I am going to secure using a Sabre Comet to Taurus CCU before the Taurus increases, if ever it does increase. And also maybe buy back a couple of Hull Ds as well
  5. LOL. Looks like every sale I’ll be checking out any mentions like that on Spectrum, thanks @ChiefWarrant for the info. In case I notice any mentions like that, I’ll be sure to post it here so people can plan for their fleet, I for one wish I knew that. That makes me wonder if CIG or Zyloh mentioned something similar before they increased the andromeda back then or was it an occasional thing
  6. thanks @Chimaera, how did you know when it jumped is there a website keeping track of the changes or something, I could make a web scraper but I’m just being lazy . About the increase I know they will eventually increase the ships but increasing this early with the release no way near for maybe more than 5yrs. Is just not justified
  7. Also based from my records it was still $195 last Jan, since there was a WB CCU sale for the Hurricane last Jan, in which I was particularly waiting for that to link those 3 out of 5 Hurricane to Ion WB CCUs but I've decided not to buy them then because the price for the Vulture was still unknown at that time since CIG took several months to get 3.18 to live. I decided not to buy them, just in case the price of the Vulture came so close that the only way to connect it to the hurricane is by directly connecting the vulture to the hurricane which can only be done after the vulture's price had gone up. Knowing now that the price of the vulture doesn't require connecting it directly to the hurricane, I wish I bought those WB CCUs back then. I really hate this change by CIG since Feb 17'22 of the no longer having the prices locked in buy back, I just really think it is a greedy move from them. I mean come on we are spending our money (and for some to as a way to back CIG) by buying virtual ships from them, the least they could do is to let early backers the chance to repurchase melted CCUs at the same price, it's not like the ships aren't going to change once you bought them, the problem is the ships change over time so you can't be sure if you're still gonna be happy with it on game release, if it ever gets released.
  8. Hi, Anybody noticed when the price for the hurricane had increased to $210? I generally try to keep tract of how often CIG does these things. Unfortunately, 3 out of 5 of my Hurricane to Ion WB CCUs was affected by this and its savings went down from $50 to $35 because of this. Last time I am sure that the price for the Hurricane was still $195 was last IAE.
  9. Is it really right for CIG to punish us for melting or not buying back those CCUs that'll just sit in our hangars unused when we could have the option to use the credits to play with a ship that we could use now, in the verse. You know what, I was wrong, it wasn't a bug, I think I was actually just looking for an excuse for why CIG did it, but, lately I haven't been playing SC, I actually don't watch that much YT videos about SC anymore, and I think It's because I now know how CIG upper management thinks, and I just can't believe I've sunk so much money into this game. When I started I thought that I should try to continuously fund CIG, by pledging a few dollars at a time and the concept of this CCU game was kinda a perfect match for how I wanted to fund the development, small but continuous pledges, only what I could spare. I may seem to have abused the buyback by collecting all those CCUs but I never intended to sell them in Grey market, but more for the reason that after I get my minimum fleet maybe I could continue to fund them by gradually adding ships to my fleet, that way CIG will get continuous funding and I get additional ships in my fleet with the best saving I could get for each, so that I could minimize any regret I may feel. Now, I just don't know how I feel about CIG, and I can't really stop playing SC, now that I've invested so much money, time and effort, on the CCU game. But I am sure of one thing, I no longer want to continuously support CIG, i'll still finish up my now much much smaller fleet, coz I'm the only one that'll lose if I stop that now. it was a mistake for me to play this CCU game, I even had a LOT of warnings from this forum not to go down this route, but back then I thought I was supporting my favorite game, even with as little as I can. I just failed to see that SC and CIG are 2 different things, 1 is the game I've always wanted and the other could just get greedy. And now seeing that video, it conveyed a lot of how I've been feeling about CIG lately, unlike the author of the video though I haven't been salty to CIG, only with just this change, I never complained about anything before not even with the roadmap changes, just with this buy back change. Maybe I haven't been a backer long enough, only time will tell.
  10. Hey many thanks for this valuable insight, I have heard of these sites before but only just recently. Though, I did not try it before because back then I needed a way to keep track of not only the CCU's and the current available savings to complete my CCU chain, but I also needed to know which CCU's of concept ships to put into my buy back, I doubt those site would be able to help me there, so I never got to try them. Also by that time I found out about them was a little too late as my spreadsheet was already so optimized to give me all the insight that I needed at a glance. I could actually say that the 1 true benefit that I really got from the CCU game was that my google sheet skills had improved greatly, I was able make the sheet perform as if it was coded as 1 of those specialized CCU sites, it was big achievement for me. Now since I have greatly reduced my target fleet size to only 3 CCU chains (thanks or no thanks to CIG's changes, not sure which one yet), and have no more real need for the buy back system, and the spread sheet that I had been gazing for so long, I might actually try those site now. And your insights will most likely help me set it up faster. Thanks
  11. Ouch, that's 50USD each lost then, but really 17 hull Bs... that's a huge fleet you were planning. With the new version of the CCU game I would now think that most people will hardly consider making a huge fleet now, since it is more costly, imagine buying back with new money before a ship's release only to find out later that it did not rise as much as you hoped or have overshoot your intended CCU connection and will now challenge its savings for dominance, instead of adding to it. I for 1 had reduced my target fleet originally 6 upto a max of 9, to now only a minimum of 3 upto a max of 5, if I would decide to still risk to play the CIG's new CCU game.
  12. WHAT, If only I've known this little bit of information at first, I mean the talon was release Jan, but I only started learning CCUs Feb, from how you said this it seemed to me that it was never intentional and was more likely a bug, like a script that they were always expecting to work, but may have stopped and maybe just noticed it recently. If i've known that was a possible scenario, I would have instead of waiting for buy back tokens, I would have just bought those CCUs the moment the price came up. Another tragedy of being late to arrive in the party. So basically it wasn't always had been like that then. If that was just a fluke or a bug, then that explains why the sudden change, with no announcement Well yeah, I can confirm that I have already bought back my Nomad Starter Pack IAE 2950 using the buy back token on the day this happened. The MT WB Standalone as well seemed to be unchanged though I have no buy back token to use but i'm fine suffering to lose its 10 USD savings rather than spending 65 USD cash on it so I'm willing to wait for the buy back on that one. BUT STILL CIG shanged what they said about Warbound's savings not changing in buy back and that is very discomforting to the point I can no longer trust what they say now, even if there were assurances from customer support now, coz CIG could just simply change things again in the future, disregarding what they've written or what the customers service had been saying for years. That part is still inexcusable, not even an announcement the WB CCUs will no longer keep the saving in Buy Back, just plain old SNEAKY. For me an spread sheet gives me the best picture of which ships are coming out that I should watch out for, plainly because my buy back had grown so large already its 1054 buy backs (i've checked in both buy back page and the sheet) listed before the change and I just started Feb last year, so get an idea of the effort I've been doing with this CCU game. I had been to frantic in my collection of CCUs not knowing that it could just be a fluke not intentional, and just thinking that these price locks in buy back might last 1 or 2 years before CIG announces that they will be changing things, If i've known I would not have collected as much, and just bought back whenever there was a big price bump that benefits my chain.
  13. Sorry I'm still new to SC (started Dec 2020), What exactly are temporary event discounts and permanent concept discounts? I expect they are different from Warbonds, right? I just had an offer for a 5USD discount for the hoverquad, since I previously bought a Nomad game package ( which is my first pledge), which would that be then? probably the temporary event discount. I know I'm not suppose to get mad about what they did, because there were a lot of warning about CIG could change things in the CCU game, but look at it in my perspective, I just started SC, never heard about the CIG warning about the changes that could happen, then I found out and learned every thing I could about CCUs and started collecting CCUs in Feb 2021, ILW collected all concept ship CCUs available for several CCU chains just to be sure, then again did it for the remaining concept ships in IAE, lost a lot of sleep doing that just to make them all fit into the time frame. After all that and 645.50 USD of pledges in, I said okay all I have to do now is start buying back all those recent ccu's that earned savings throughout this year via buy back tokens, then this happened. Its as if all the effort and planning and money was wasted., If they would just give us just one day to buy them back at original savings, I might find content. Maybe if I just didn't learn about this CCU thing and just stuck with my original plan of maxing out at just the prospector, maybe I'd be much happier. Okay it's not really all doom and gloom for me, luckily most of my chains are made of WB CCUs (bought in ILW) that I didn't melt, but I did melt 2 endeavor/crucible C2s for IAE that I shouldn't have, and was only able to buy back with a token 1 C2. Now my only recourse, if I still want to play this new version of the CCU game, is to buy back with cash 2 Hull C's and hope they could replace the C2 but still be able to connect to 2 of my 4 Prowler to BMM WB CCUs, which I think is unlikely because I doubt the Hull C with its massive cargo will ever go below 440 USD to connect to the Prowler. Another is to buy back with cash 3 Vultures ccus and 1 Hull B, hoping to replace the 3 Taurus CCUs that I've also failed to buy back, and hope that it would connect to 3 of my 5 Hurricane to Ion WB CCUs But for the 5 Harbinger to Caterpillar CCUs that I failed to buy back, I don't have anything except Apollo and Medivac, but both actually are in conflict with my WB CCUs, so that's where I got hit the most, but the good news about the Apollo and Medivac is that I could buy those in ILW with store credit, and maybe even the Hull C, if they make it available in ILW and still at same price.
  14. Yeah, likewise that's also how i play the CCU game, I collect the CCUs and wait after my target ship is released and maybe wait further more, since CIG keeps changing the ship's stats, so I just use any spare store credit to buy temporary ships, not using any savings, until I'm absolutely sure I want the ship, which means I could only buy cheap temp ships, while all my other pledges are stuck in hangar wait for CIG to make up their minds on any of my target ship, which is like forever. But now CIG doesn't want us to have that option, they want us to start buying with new cash CCUs in our buy backs ships that we feel might increase in price before its price increases, now unless we are certain that we are getting a big price bump when we buy back that CCU, it just makes it so much more riskier for us, but soooo much more beneficial for CIG, why because they want us to spend more new cash than rather than us waiting for the next buy back token. Isn't this game already so expensive and they still want us to spend some more. The very least that they could do, is to let us have a chance to buy back with the old savings just even for a limited time, but no, they just want to be all greedy
  15. Still, after what they just did with WB CCUs it makes it very hard to trust what they are saying right now, coz I now know, that they do not have any trouble whatsoever in changing what say in the future even if it is in direct conflict with what they said in the past. I never doubted CIG's words, until now! but I just backed Dec 2020, so what do I know, but still, its so unprofessional, CIG is like Darth Vader and we are like Lando in the Cloud city deal, they can't just change what they said, after we've purchased all those WB CCUs and melted it believing what they said that it will retain the savings in buy back, as they've previously written, now removed.
  16. CIG just made a SNEAKY TACTIC, they just changed the prices on buy back pledges, where it is no longer locked to the original price when you bought the CCU, but just the difference with the current price of the upgrade to ship. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/3/thread/how-to-upset-your-bakers-the-incredible-price-chan @Vahadar, looks like you will not need to update your CCU rules anymore. Good thing I kept most of the important CCUs in hangar but there were several recent price bumps that I had planned to still buy back throughout this year. Can't believe they would just simply change it (REALLY SNEAKY), I was expecting at least an announcement that we have until this date to buy back before all buy back prices would reflect the current prices, that way we get our last chance to buy back, and they get more funding, everyone happy. I know buy backs have red flags and no certainty, but Warbonds that CIG even put into writing, mentioned by CIG to be immune from price changes in buy back, have also changed prices, and they've removed all mentions of Warbonds being immune (except some backers have screenshots of the previous version). CIG is making it very hard to trust them right now.
  17. yeah but that's kind of an understatement there, Andromeda is a permanent ship the likelyhood that anybody would put a non WB CCU of that into buy back is most unlikely. And at a previous price of $225 it was positioned in one of the best spots in terms of pricing, a lot of people trying to complete their fleet would have bought WB CCUs and then put to buy back all the CCUs in between going down to the nearest permanent ship, and had stopped there thinking it was safe to stop since it is always around and the price had never gone up on any flight ready ship before, until 3.14 that is. Sorry I'm salty, but as you said it is very promising as there are still a lot of future flyable ships in that area, so most likely this will just become a mild hickup in the long run. Following your vast experience with CCUs I'll follow on your advice here, but I had already successfully collected not less than 12 CCUs of all future flyable ships last ILW, Alien Week, and 3.14 sale, except of course for the Orion, Endeavor, and any of the hull series, which I think only comes out every IAE. Unlike most of the people in this site, I just recently started, Nov 2020 Free Fly for Star Citizen and just this Feb in collecting and learning all about CCUs, so I am so behind. But at least, since I started, I only missed the opportunity in getting the Nova and the Merchantman before their price increase. But at least I got WB CCUs from them which I think were at their previous prices. And of course there had been a lot more price bumps on other ships especially the Carrack before I started but I cannot help that, I actually had a chance to buy the Carrack WB CCU last IAE 2950, but I wasn't aware of all thses CCUs back then, so too bad for me, but hopefully some of my merchantman CCUs would help me in that price range. That's why I don't use to buy CCUs of future flyable FROM ships, coz I don't really know where it would be priced at on release. But now I will consider collecting CCUs of all the FROM ships (of any WB CCUs) going all the way down to the starter ship ever since 3.14, ever since Andromeda. I think San'tok yai might also fit below $240 since it is a fighter ship, but mostly it might be priced at $240. so you might still be right. I got bunch of Taurus, I actually got way more than I wanted to, that when I reallized I got more than 25 I used up 2 of my Buy Back tokens just to make sure I am at 25, hoping to be under CIG's radar, I just don't want to have any CCU to be more than 25 instances in buy back just in case. Yeah I missed them both. But I got the Nomad game package, good thing I decided to take the Nomad with its LTI rather than the MR 120Mos, but I missed all that Nomad WB CCUs with LTI.......dang. I thats okay I should have stayed more vigilant, and put to buy back those Andromeda CCUs but thats okay the future is still bright That's okay knew that anyway, we are all speculating here, making educated guesses of how CIG thinks. But we all know that CIG shanges the way they think a lot so eventually everything goes outdated anyway. But still continue updating your guidelines its a big help and will help others. I wouldn't had probably thought I would have a chance of buying something like a Polaris if not for the CCU and for your guidelines, so big thanks to you
  18. BTW, I bought all of those MSR WB CCUs with cash of course, do you think they are still going to be forever invalidated? if in case some miracle the MSR gets another price bump a little bit higher than the Andromeda, because you mentioned in your rules that if it was bought with cash, it could possible be bought back if the price of the TO ship eventually goes a bit higher than the FROM ship
  19. Hey @vahadar, I'm really glad to hear from you again. I can see that you are holding true to keeping your set of rules as updated as possible. Now about the Andromedea, Yeah, I got really burned there, it was a big surprise to me, everybody that I asked told me that CIG had not raise prices after releasing a ship, even though I had several videos proving that CIG had raised prices but at that time were all just starter ships which wouldn't hurt anyone's CCU chain. So got so convinced that I melted 9 of the 12 WB CCUs of my Andromeda to MSR, for ILW, which really sucked, and to add insult to injury, I refrained myself from putting to buy back any permanent / always available ship like the Andromeda, so now I only have 3 Andromeda to MSR WB CCUs left and only now have I put some Andromeda CCUs into buy back with it's new price which means the $30 savings from each of those WB CCUs are now down to just $15. But i did not let that pull me down, I quickly re-planned my CCU strategy and now also considers putting always available ships to buy back if it is a FROM ship of any WB CCU or CCU that grants me savings, as I'm no longer taking any chances. My recent WB CCU loses may seem sad but, the Taurus price was much higher than I expected so I am still very happy about that. And I still have a lot to hope for, much too many future flyable ships that, once increases in price would conflict with those invalidated MSR WB CCUs anyway. As an example, I had bought 5 Ion WB CCUs in ILW that gives me a saving of $20 now, and on release would i hope rise a bit more (but hopefully not equal or more than the $260 MSR). Those 5 Ion WB CCUs could most likely replace 5 of my recently invalidated MSR WB CCUs, since those $30 savings from those MSR WB CCUs could potentially be exceeded by the Ion WB CCUs (now $20 saving + potential future price). And to think that there are still so much future flyable ships in that price range, so I am not so down for losing all those MSR WB CCUs. But you are right, regardless of how CIG seems to be handling pricing and bumps in the past, and how many are telling me CIG will not do this or do that, I will instead consider all possibilities, from now on, if I could manage it. And of course that set of rules that you had been maintaining had been very useful, even though I just said I will try to consider all possibilities, situations would still limit what I could put to buy back so your guide helps me determine the least riskiest approach to take, and the best way to maximize using just store credits rather than buying with cash, whenever it is not necessary.
  20. Woah, many thanks again for the code randomizer links, I haven't really given that much thought about those before, but seeing you're getting around a referral a year is not so bad, I'll definitely enter my referral code there who knows right. Yeah I actually did that for the Dragonfly LTI and the ES LTI referral bonus just this Dec/Jan and Apr (3.13 sale). They are now my 2nd and 3rd acnts. I bought a 40.5 USD MR SC game package but no LTI just 2yrs ins. for the 2nd account, and the recent 65 USD Tumbril MT WB LTI for the 3rd acnt, which I gifted to my main acnt after 30 days which just made it for the ILW 2021 to be melted to add funds to put into buy back all future flyable ships for each of my CCU chains. Probably after I complete in getting the remaining future flyable ships, I'll just buy back with credits the Tumbril MT WB as an LTI token. Right now the MT is my only LTI token that I could upgrade and melt freely, the others are the 2 referral bonus and the Nomad SC Game Package LTI (my first pledge) that I do not want to melt, just in case I would need to gift to 1 of my other accounts. That 3rd acnt is already reserved for 1 of my 4 kids, I still have 3 more referral bonus to get acnts for my 3 other kids. The second acnt, I actually use a lot as my pilot while my main acnt enjoys the panoramic views on the Phoenix, or as a ship guard while I'm off trading, or to leave him behind as a quantum beacon if I need to get back to a multiple quantainium asteroid find while mining with a prospector, or to man the second turret while mining with the MOLE, where in that case I found that I no longer need to use consumables if the MOLE has 2 turrets manned, and I even had it tag along during xeno threat which doubled the pay that I received in the event, hehe.
  21. Hi, sorry it took me a while to read up your response. It makes better sense now why the PTV was never upgradable it was originally meant to be a hangar flair. I appreciate that you had to go the extra mile to check if the PTV was ever upgradable, sad that it is not, cause getting that will most likely happen, but the Gladius will take a lot longer if ever that even happens. oh well, that's okay, they were never in my fleet plans to begin with, anyway. So it's just my mind's eye playing tricks on me again. For some reason, I just l keep seeing the PTV, in the first in the all ship listings, probably I just saw it in some other page, and it keeps merging itself to the upgrade page in my mind's eye, that's why I keep remembering it there. Many thanks again. Well at least the PTV is LTI, so that by the time I decide to bring it out to play with it , it will always be available.
  22. You sure, I mean my mind's eye keep showing me the PTV, I even remember its price of 15 USD, but then again, my memory isn't as sharp as it use to be, maybe I am wrong. Not really interested in the PTV itself, but more into when I realized that it could be a potential LTI token, that I haven't accounted for in my fleet planning, but since you are sure that the PTV had never shown itself from the upgrade page, I will not be able to contest its removal from the pledge store which I taught caused its subsequent removal from the upgrade page as well, since it wasn't upgradable in the first place. Too bad, I am most likely to get the PTV by early next year mostly but now that it can't be upgraded, its practically almost worthless, (its soo easy to just buy it in game if i should need it), it would have served better as an LTI token, to save me some money. And yes I was aware that they cannot be melted, I expected it., having already bought to additional acnts for my kids to get the Dragonfly and the ES as referral bonus. I mostly collect the CCUs for my CCU chains, most of then put into buy back, I just simply don't apply any of them until probably when the chain's target ship is actually released and I am absolutely sure that I want it, if not I just don't apply it, until probably when CIG says that they will be taking the CCU feature away and we all have to finalize our fleets, that's probably when I will apply them all, until then I'm fine just using what's left of my store credits to buy or upgrade to some new ship to try it out. Many many thanks for giving me verification, at least I know now that, if ever I make it to the Gladius referral reward I could use it as an LTI token.
  23. Hi, many many thanks for your reply. I am so glad to hear that they are both LTI. Do you think that the PTV had always been un-upgradable? Because I am only a recent backer but I've learned a lot about CCUs and since Feb I had been checking almost nearly everyday the upgrade page and I kinda distinctly remember the PTV being the first ship listed there when you click "all ships", Recently I haven't been visiting the upgrade page as often but when I check it now I no longer see the PTV listed there, and when I go the the pledge store the PTV is no longer for sale, so I was thinking maybe they just recently removed it and also the upgrade from it.
  24. Hi, I just need to know if the Referral Rewards for the PTV (after 5 Referrals) or the Gladius (after 10 referrals) were upgradable? and what insurance they came with? I know that the PTV is no longer for sale nor is it capable to be upgraded from, but if it was previously upgradable, even if you just got it as a reward, I was hoping to contest it to CIG. Hopefully somebody could answer, cause I have 4 kids that I am planning to get RSI acnts for each one, I'm just basically waiting for another one of those referral bonus ship promos, like the recent ones with the Dragonfly and Aurora ES. So I am most likely to get the PTV and maybe at most the Gladius but this one would be much later, i expect.
