I'm back in the suck, but a little more comfortable. R&R was hectic but I got to drive my little Mini Cooper Clubman and do things for my wife in the apartment I've been begging her to let me do all year. Hung new curtains, put Phillips HUE lights in every socket and every outlet so Vesak can be properly celebrated. Put a few shelves up for Buddhas to watch over the place. Cleared out the curio cabinet so a Buddha could dwell there adorned appropriately with more colorful lighting affects on it. Put a nice soft rug in the living room. Hung the TVs and other useful devices on the walls to make use of vertical space. Hung a Lantern Watch logo from Walls 360 in the bedroom and one of their Buddha murals is being hung in the living room. Now that we have all our surplus crap properly stowed in storage, the apartment is much more liveable. I even pulled the landlords crappy fridge and stove out and put in new appliances; fridge, microwave, stove. I think the wife will prolly keep the old fridge for a while at least.
Since the wife has a lot of doctor's appointments, chemotherapy and still lacks a lung I want her to be as comfy as possible. Looking forward to September when my daughter will be able to drive her to appointments in "her car" The Mini Cooper was her idea after all and my truck isn't being driven while I'm overseas. It made sense to trade the truck in for a car she will enjoy driving. She'll certainly enjoy that car, I'm hoping she makes a few GoPro vids of her driving for me.
Have a Lantern Watch logo blanket in my room and my desktop PC is safely back at the shop it was born at. Skilled Xotic PC technicians are dutifully repairing the damage it suffered in shipping and I'm eyeballing the upcoming release of Nvidia gpu's with interest. Maybe I'll have them upgrade to a few SLI X90 Titans while it's in the shop.
All in all, once I got over the shock of learning my wife has breast cancer, I had a productive and satisfying vacation.
