  1. ~S~ Welcome to the Base
  2. ~S~ Welcome to the SCB !! Everyone cleans the windows once a year and your turn will be in 2142
  3. ~S~ Very Very Nice Thank you super find...
  4. ~S~ Rotorax did you not get an engine mod in one of the stretch goals? I know I have one
  5. ~S~ Yup I was thinking of a gas peddle and brake (sort of)
  6. ~S~ It is a game they play to make us buy their surplus chips they have in stock now. AND they need our money so if they release the new chips now, then the over stock they have of the chips in stores will have to be lowered in price, thus now making the money they could... ALL because of the new games that are coming out that require their NEW CHIPS!!!
  7. ~S~ Yes Timziito and Eithrail... yes we did check, the CPU was not getting the right stuff. My board it seemed was a 2.0 and they gave my tech the full price I payed for it in exchange, but it just did not like ANY 3.0 card SO now I save for the i7 should be good to go in 2 months
  8. ~S~ @MrLockie By the looks of your specs, you have the 2nd gen MB. Ref CPU: Intel® Core i7 CPU 960 @ 3.20GHz (I had the same setup with 16 gb ram. GTX 660 The new and better video cards are now 3rd gen pci slots. They called them PCI slot 3 Be very careful in getting a new video card as my new GTX 770 4gb did NOT work on the old slot 2 pci 2nd gen MB. I the had to chose upgrading to a new 3rd gen MB or go back to the old and wait until I could afford a new one with i7 chip. We tried for over 4 hrs to make the hanger run smoothly and just no go. That is how I discovered that the new Vid cards were slot 3
  9. ~S~ I plan on doing both I will fly my Aurora until I can buy a better equipped fighter. While waiting for my new hull to be built, depending on how long it will take heheh yup will be looking for a gunners mate job.
  10. ~S~ There are two things that came from the convoys of old. 1) the more ships you had the better chance of making to the port in one piece. The old saying safely in numbers.. Only because you had more eyes to the water. 2) Also the greater number of ships the more chance of you not getting a tube in the side lol.. P.S. In the military they have a saying never fight alone.. because we will never know where to pick up the body
  11. ~S~ = Salute and I have used it for years in every military forum I have ever posted on. lol
  12. ~S~ @Acepilot545 If you can afford a joystick then yes.. As for a model hehehe far to many threats here and on RSI DO a search and read what others are saying IF you are going to buy new. I have an old x52pro and will be using it. IF you are planning on using the OR then buy a hotas that has LOTS of programmable buttons lol you are going to need everyone of them. Most of the replies to OP;s question are wait for the good deals and/or the prices to come down. I agree.. I believe that a 64bit OS with hyper threading is a must. 16 gb ram but they say 32 gb for extra hardware software over the normal (extra screens, extra plug and plays that sort of thing). Save your money until CIG finishes the game. No use wasting money on upgrades that you find are maybe not needed or later on find we have to upgrade again lol.. most likely Buy a ship, sweatshirt. This is my personal option that I am going to stick to. Now the hard part Video cards.. Most are running duel's. I have never had any good luck running AMD's. I have a tech that runs AMD and has never had the problems a lot of people report, but again Nvidia seems to put out drivers faster so maybe thats it I dont know.. Cost is the biggest thing that I have a problem with. Everyone has to have the best and I agree, I am the one that turns my setts to MAX... sometimes just looking at the views of where you are at the time... Anyway,... cost is the biggest factor and IF you can wait, get the 64bit OS, a chip that can handle the hyper threading and 16gb ram.. As for the video card I just dont know. I have the GTX 770 4gb ... runs good enough for me and will wait until release.
  13. ~S~ I have the x52 pro and TiR that is what I plan on using until release. By then, hoping, CIG may have a stick combo out that we can get. I have a sysem where I put my keyboard on the desk and joysticks, (throttle and stick) on the slide away (where the keyboard sits) have for a long time and It works for me. good luck in finding what you are going to be happy with.
  14. ~S~ WooT!!!! I have watched the vid 4 times and I am pumped.. Yummy What I found, (by watching), was that the controls seemed very sensitive. I did not see anyone using a joystick, at the revel, all seemed to be using game pad and or keyboard, but they, (joysticks), were used the next day at PAX. According to a lot of posts relating to the DFM, the joystick was used at the displays around PAX and reported that it was still the best to use. This is only because they were smoother and easier to use in relation to the pitch, roll and yaw movements by keyboard/mouse and game pad were to jecky. But I believe that with the right sensitivity settings they will get better. But with the amount of buttons needed, hotas will be the way to go (in my personal option). Third person view seemed to be the top view of 90% of the video due to the "must show off the graphics of the game". To which I did not mind at all. Was not able to see/watch the radar at work for too long, due to everyone hitting the 3rd person view. Will be interesting for the first hour or so of set-up. Where to put what control mapped to what button AND WILL THEY WORK LOL. BUT TO just get into the game and see what I can do is all that counts. I think I will be just flying around getting use to the controls and practising my landings. For the team related matches, we must land on that platform and RRR.. (Repair, Refuel, Rearm) After which, I am looking forward to meeting you all in-game and testing my space flight skill (yup one) heheh. Just remember that we are all just learning and as we get xp remember to help your fellow members... GET ON TS we are going to need to learn how to
  15. ~S~ All I can say is I like this thread. Space is a 6D with craft that can and will stop turn around and fire at you. No matter which way you are going or trying to I can hardly wait to see what we can and cannot do in the many ships we have now. I just keep flying space sims to see how fast I can die lol... The very few things I have learnt .... Never leave your Wingman out to dry and always save your ammo ... get in close, fire in short burst, keep one eye on the radar for incoming & Lastly IF you have a cap ship on your side stay close to it lol they give great covering fire... Remember it is not who gets the kill, it is who survives the fight. Learn what you can and teach it to another fleet member... so they can teach it ...
  16. ~S~ @ Swiftwilly: Simple true is that we get what we can afford for ship (s) in the game. You have a lot of Fleet members that will be more then happy to pay for good gunners CR has stated that a cap is going to be put on the amount of credits you can buy. Credit cap is on either by week or month, cannot remember (old I guess). Anyway He has also made it clear that no matter who you are, what you do and time spent in game, there will be the best balance he and CIG can give us. Main thing CR wants is a place where he can have fun in the place we are helping to create. To Quote CR lmao "To make the Best Dam Space Sim ever"!! The best way to look at what you have is:: what you can afford now! Remember that every ship that is/was on sale WILL be available at full release. With the very small exception of ships that we can capture. I plan on doing my best to earn my ships as I grow in the verse. Either by trading or manning a gun for a Fleet M8. I know that everyone in the Imperium fleet has this in mind... " I want the best of everything lmao But will do my best with what I have"
  17. ~S~ Wish I had the money to get either lol However the Volair seems to be the one that has more options of setup to where I would like it :0
  18. ~S~ I have the Saitek peddles, not as nice as the crosswind but have had them for 5+ yrs same as my X52 Pro... Bought them as a set... Fly about 10 hrs a week and not broke a thing yet ( knock on wood).. Buy what you can afford and really look at the floor think about where and how will you set them up LOL..
  19. ~S~ CyberianK nice setup and because you had the cash good job :0) As for me I will be still using what I have and very happy to have that NOW IF I did win the Lotto LMAO
  20. ~S~ I look forward to these every week Z Thanks
  21. ~S~ LOL I did not see this thread at all when I first logged in. My bad sorry devs... for making a new thread on it. I can say this about the sale. I think that OR was broke and needed the cash to finish what they promised to the backers on KS. Regardless a good or bad thing, The OR team has now 2 Billion to use to complete the project. It has been done, nothing we do now will stop it.... and I was going to buy one. Now I will wait and see if it is finished and what will come from FB owning the rights of the software.
