Sunday 16th March, 2014 New Diplomacy Promotion! As Imperium continues to evolve in preparation for a game that is becoming more and more imminent, Diplomacy Division has foreseen a need for a Senior Diplomat and a new officer to fulfil many responsibilities that he has already begun to undertake. Here at INN we have noticed someone regularly and consistently doing sterling work in his section and it’s obvious that if we noticed it then those around him must have taken note too. INN once again has the privilege of being the first to congratulate Ryofar on his promotion to Diplomatic Officer and Profess1onalN00b to Senior Diplomat. They have both shown exceptional skill in the past and have been valuable and active members of this community. We wish them more luck than we believe they actually need and look forward to seeing the excellent work they’ll continue to do in the future! Star Citizen Map RSI, SCB and StarCitizen as a whole has proven to be a great community full of a wide range of people, personalities and nations from around the globe which have all been brought together. We’ve made friends and allies from all walks of life thanks to this game and the work that has been produced by it’s amazing fandom. If you’ve ever wanted to find like minded people in your area, or just been curious about where all the players are distributed around the world, check out his website. You can sort all the results by Organizations, Citizen rank or just search for your friends. To quote Bluntoze himself: ”Anyone can add everyone , as long as they know the forum handle. Your location is retrieved from the location declared on your CIG Forum profile. If you don't have a location defined there , there will be no Marker for you. Each marker, when hovered over, gives a link to the full CIG profile and one for messaging that user using the CIG messaging system.” All information on this website is voluntary and specific only as far as a general area, so you don’t need to worry about keeping your details secure. You can find the website here. Imperium Intelligence Service Opens Up Recruiting! It is probably not because it is not directed at anyone specific nor is calling general unspecified groups of peoples waco's a hard insult. That said please don't reply to this message of mine but make a HR case by contacting them directly or if you want to reply to my post PM me if you want to discuss this further with me. That said HR has probably already seen this and will respond to both of us that we did something wrong by even posting instead of coming to HR and asking about it. Why did I post this, damn. My new Flight Stick and Throttle arrived today: the Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino H.O.T.A.S. Needless to say that I'm very pleased and am eager to try it out. Here are pics I took of my X-55 Rhino: Unboxing Flight Stick Throttle Dual Throttle Flight Stick & Throttle First Impressions: I am very impressed by the X-55 Rhino's looks, feel, function, and build quality. Both the flight stick and throttle feel very comfortable and fit naturally in my hands. The placement of the buttons is good. They're exactly where they should be on the flight stick, and they're crisp and give good feedback. The trigger feels really good to pull, with just the right firmness and a satisfying click. On the throttle, all the buttons and HATs and switches feel great, but I'm concerned that the placement of the 2 buttons and HAT on the front of the throttle grip might cause me to press them accidentally when pulling back. I expect I'll learn how grip it properly so that doesn't happen. The flight stick's movement feels good and very precise. I plan on experimenting with the 4 springs and see which one I prefer. The throttle's movement is best described as accurate and deliberate -- meaning slow and tight. I immediately reduced the throttle tension using the adjustment knob, but I didn't notice a significant difference. However, the slow-ish throttle movement isn't a bad thing; it actually feels good and more realistic than most of the throttles I've used in the past. Sure, I can't go from idle to afterburner to idle again in a split second, but I shouldn't need to. I'm confident that the feel of the throttle movement will grow on me after I get used to it. That's all for now. It's time to plug in my Rhino and have some FUN!

    INN NEWSBRIEF - March 14, 2014

NN Newsbrief for March 7 - 14, 2014 $40 MILLION Star Citizen’s fundraising campaign has hit yet another unprecedented goal - $40M has been raised since the game’s crowdfunding started - with a Kickstarter campaign looking to raise a now paltry seeming $500,000. The $40M unlock is two different star systems - Kabal and Oretani - and because the vote was so close between the two, the team decided to include them both. Kabal is a newly discovered system containing Tevarin ruins, and Oretani is a former target of terraforming and colonization, but its jump point mysteriously closed, and the colony was lost. Along with this goal comes the announcement of the $42M reward unlocks, and as 42 is a very significant number (referring both to Squadron 42 and the answer to life, the universe, and everything) the unlocks are substantial. The Observist is Star Citizen’s in-game reference guide, and extra funding from the $42M goal will expand the functionality of the guide. Explorer-class Mobiglas Rig - this in-game device will be a special reward for backers who join in funding the game before the $42M goal is hit, providing a special edition of the MobiGlas rigs that provide in-game access to the Observist and other resources. Gladius - A new ship, an older model light military fighter from Aegis Dynamics. A towel - because you have to know where your towel is. A poll to determine the next backer reward can be found at the bottom of the page. Click here to read the full Letter from the Chairman and vote in the poll! Hello guys

Hello guys, I'm blackzaru, I pledged for a rear admiral package, so I should have a rsi constellation and a p52 merlin. What I am mostly looking into is the dogfight module coming soon, it will probably help me decide whether I would prefer to be more military oriented or trade/transport/mining oriented. (because both seems to have some charms to me, I'm not yet decided on what would be preferable for me) BTW: I also applied to imperium, lets see if I am accepted.

Hail to every tier of STB!!

After being sucked in by what can only be called as a "Superior" recruitment campaign and website. I've docked here safely at the SCB website and forum. My name is Rear Admiral Khad Rogo, the UEE Navy has been my life, it took me in as a young cadet and i've not looked back. I'm looking forward to utilizing my skill set gained by the Navy, in what ever format the Imperium may need. I am the proud Commander of the Constellation "HMS Odyssey" and her close support craft P25. I also bring to the table the F7C-S Hornet Ghost for those covert missions that can be denied ever took place by the organisation. At present due to striking big on providing foodstuffs to a remote mining colony, i'm financially in a position to add to my flotilla, any suggestions greatly received. Well That is it, looking forward to serving with you all and making Imperium everything it is destined to be. Fly Safe Pilots. Rear Admiral Khad Rogo Commander of the HMS Odyssey

    Login Info/Handles & Usernames

Hmm let us take this as an example: As you can see he has two names on his citizen dossier: Christopher Roberts croberts68 Christopher Roberts is his Character Name. Right now you can choose anything you want to be your character name and change it any time you want in your profile on RSI. In the future when you create a new character within the game, you will have to give that character a name, and that is where the name will appear. So it is important to have a name you like since this will be the one you will be in-game. That character can die permanently, and then you will have to create a new character as heir of the old one. That new character will have a new name, and therefore your character name will change. You can also have "alts" which are other characters you have on the same game account. If you have for example two active characters in your game, then one of them will be your main character, and that will be the character name that will appear when you post on the RSI forum. So you can always create a new character with a new name if you don't like your old one (either by killing the old one of or just deleting the character I guess) croberts68 is you Username. It is also known as your handle. This name is your public account name and is meant to give you one unique identity that everyone can recognize, regardless of which character you are playing with or post with at any time. This one is 100% permanent unless you pay to change it. And as you can see it will appear under the character name so people can know who is the player behind the character.

    Human Civil War

It's more that Earth is conservative and hawkish and Terra is progressive and trade oriented, the corruption thing is everywhere to a higher or lesser degree. Since the CIG lore guys have a major hard on for "grey" moral history, don't expect there to be any good/bad guys in here. There will be pros and cons to both sides, so trying to make it into a moral thing probably won't get us anywhere. My bet is that they'll go for a storyline where Terra is justified in seceding, but in doing so they leave the galactic east open and weak to Vanduul aggression. Ultimately leading to them being responsible for the sack of Earth that has been quite heavily hinted at. As an aside, I don't think they have really defined how hot or cold the split will be. So it's entirely possible we'd be able to have decent relations with both sides, with the option for more "rewards" if we sided more with one or the other. I think we'll more end up thinking about what we'd get from having high standings with one or the other. Earth is supposed to be more traditional, conservative, and militaristic. Terra is progressive, innovative and trade oriented. So I'd suspect if we want access to more milspec weapons by doing vanduul-killing missions go Earth. If we want access to scanners and advanced mining lasers by doing trade missions go Terra. (?)

Does the Cutless have a jumpdrive?

The DRAKE ships were supposed to have low base stats and lots of upgrade slots to compensate. But yea, Wingman has essentially called the whole stats page bullshit on the hangover aftershow. It lacks about half of the relevant numbers (like armor and internal systems) and is several design iterations behind not even the real stats but more importantly how the game works. So it's useful for giving an idea of how the game works, but useless for actual stats based theorycrafting. I suspect they just got tired of the shit storms every time they changed some minor number. And so decided to stop updating them until we get into balancing, when we can use the stats for anything more than bitching about imaginary "nerfs".

    Why use a HOTAS?

The official stance of CIG is to not nerf mouse but still manage to make all input devices viable. I feel that is a chicken out answer though and I am still not convinced that will be possible but I am happy to be proven wrong. If you look around in RSI forums there are alot of hardcore oldschool sim guys around who seriously think that mouse flight (like Freelancer) won't be enabled in SC. That would mean you could move the ship with keyboard only having the mouse just for aim. That would of course be a serious boost for stick and it would just be a return to the natural sim control schemes so totally eligible. It would be true to the WC series and sim side and undo the step Freelancer did and was criticized for. And the Hangar livestream could give you the impression they do that because that is how the controls were set up. You notice they use heavy WASD with little mouse and you also see it in the actual ship movements. From everything that was said by CIG with their mouse friendly tone I doubt that they do that though (stream controls were possibly just preliminary or not configured). It would alienate lots of backers who are mouse raised since the moment they started their first PC game. I would not have a problem if they did that, better KtD-Ratio for me against all those people struggling with controls but I won't bet on it.

Does the Cutless have a jumpdrive?

Ah I see...Hm still seems rather confusing. Reading the ship specs now I believe I concluded that Aurora has 6 upgrade slots in total except for the Aurora ES the cheapest model: The Aurora LN has 5 free upgrade slots and then in the hardpoints it says that it has a "stor-all mini" included. The Aurora LX has 4 free upgrade slots, and in the additional equipment located in the hardpoints says it has a "stor-all mini" and "RSI oracle jump engine" included. The Aurora CL has 4 upgrade slots and contains "stor-all big box (model A)" "Tarsus AT jump scanner" So with that being said I believe I concluded two things...Jump drives take up one upgrade slot, and cargo boxes also take up one slot regardless of the size of the cargo module.

    Why use a HOTAS?

I agree with @Ormathon . I believe the Oculus Rift will prove superior to both keyboard+mouse and TrackIR, because HOTAS controls and looking to aim is more intuitive, and with the goggles on your head you can always see what you're looking at regardless of how far to the left, right, up, or down you move your head -- unlike the TrackIR. Ultimately, that's the setup I plan on using: HOTAS and OR. I'm just waiting for the retail OR, which hopefully will be released before Star Citizen's retail launch. In the meantime I'll make do with multi-monitors.

    RSI Idris Class Corvette

I admit I hoped to be able to Operate my Idris in UEE secure space. With a crew of npc and AI controlled gunner positions. I will have very limited time I can devote to SC. I had planed to make all my ships assessable to as many friends as possible. But I didn't want to be limited to which ships I could take out at the strange hours I will be able to devote to SC. Its going to stink if I got a few to help crew then they each had to leave for various reasons and I'm stuck stranded.

    Why use a HOTAS?

Malak, if you mean that you aim the weapons to other directions with a mouse you seriously need to think about some other divices for this purpose like TrackIR and the Occulus Rift where you aim your weapons with head movement like in a Apache Helicopter. So flying with a HOTAS + TrackIR/Occulus Rift you will get cramps in you're wrist before I get cramps in my neck in a serious combat situation.

Yes, as Kellso and Swiftsure have said, the Cutlass doesn't come equipped with a jump engine, but one can easily be purchased. I expect that a basic jump engine will be inexpensive. Players might even be able to buy one with the starting credits they receive with their pledge packages. So the Cutlass' or any ship's lack of jump engine won't hold players back for very long, so it's nothing to worry about. Besides, the star systems are supposed to be extremely large and the starting systems should have plenty for n00bs to do and learn before heading out into the 'verse. I expect that players will have learned everything they need to know and earned more than enough credits to buy a jump engine long before they've exhausted everything to do and to see in the starting systems, because CIG will design them that way. Therefore, the Cutlass' lack of a jump engine shouldn't be a problem for players.

Does the Cutless have a jumpdrive?

It might not have one stock. Most ships don't. However except the Connies belly snub-fighter all known ships can mount one, at the cost of a few upgrade slots and a few UEC. So there is no risk of you getting stuck anywhere for very long. In older CR games it was not very expensive, but locked newbies into their home system for long enough that they'd learned the game and upgraded their ship a bit before venturing out in the universe. As an aside it means local system ship and ones carried in capitals will be slightly more powerful than nomadic travelers, since they can use those upgrade slots for more combat upgrades (or whatever else floats your boat).

    Rationalizing the Constellation

For me it was two reasons...My first reason I figure there is enough buzz for Star Citizen to support my purchase, I know my ship won't just sit in the hanger. Not even into pre-alpha and Star Citizen has raised 41 million dollars without the aid of publisher like EA is pretty impressive. The developers are very down to earth and community driven rather than having EA saying "Hmm well kids are into hello kitty, and since we are a bunch of old men who think video games are played by children...lets add hello kitty decals to the ships, and maybe a hello kitty claw missile launcher...if you don't do this update we will pull the game." So I know my purchase is kind of backed with a guarantee from the popularity of Star Citizen as well as the developers aren't going to damage the game with pointless things we don't want like hello kitty decals. The other reason helped me click the purchase button for me I told myself "you know what? The price of the constellation is only about 100 dollars more than what the average video games collectors edition cost" So that's what made me purchase it without feeling too guilty is I look at the $275.00 price tag as the collectors edition of the game.
