Imperium Recruitment (StarCitizenBase.com Fleet)

1,500 posts in this topic

Well... None of my friends will play this game so I cant really be a recruited, nor do I have the time really to go around to other forums and recruit sooo :(... (Yes I know contrary to my amazing responses as soon as a reply is made to a threat I post on I dont have a whole lot of time, it helps to have a cell phone that can let you post from anywhere whenever.) But I definitely wouldn't mind joining, although I get the feeling that a good deal of the time I will be doing freelance things like exploring, pirating, and bounty hunting. Hell maybe if we made a loan and the other party didnt repay it, I would go and blow them up... I am not a diplomat, I am not a laborer, a craftsman, or a scientist, although I could potentially do those if I had to or if they benefited me. :D Sorry I like killing stuff, not much of a nice guy though :P

I have some experience in recruiting and leading clans.

I started my first clan back in 1996, to play a mod for Quake 1 called Team Fortress, then some other exploits in between, and my last clan was for Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast....sadly that is when life happened and working full time nowadays keeps me from gaming too much.

However i would love to be part of something (clan, fleet, whatever you want to call it) again without too much of the responsibility falling on my shoulders this time around.

Being the old fart that i am i have (in team based games) adopted more of a defending role, nowadays caring more about my team winning than being on top of the killboard at the end of a match like them young people nowadays *angrily shakes walking stick in general direction of young people*

Since the game mechanics are quite unclear at this time, i think noone knows yet if there are going to be high risk mining operations in unprotected territory or other operations in which escorts are required, but if there are count me in for protection duty.

I know there are not many patient players out there who can take doing nothing very much for an extended period of time, but i know there are some.

Fact is that a high risk mining operation might just not get attacked by anyone, which means you've just spent X amount of time not shooting anyone.....takes a certain kind of mentality to still see that as "fun" in a game =P

Don't know if anyone ever played Planetside but some of the most fun i've had in that game was simply ferrying people around in a Galaxy (dropship that could carry troops and a vehicle) and just try keeping my ship repaired and not get blown out of the sky.

I wasn't the only one in the outfit (planetside name for a clan) i was with who enjoyed playing supporting roles, and that's the type of person you'd need for escort duty.

I hope the game will have features that cater to people who like to play supporting roles like an AWACS ship, resupply ship (in the demo it looked like the missiles that were fired did not automatically regenerate), a ship that generates a jamming or cloaking field....stuff like that =)

Having said all that (sorry for the rant, post already got a lot longer than i intended it to be, and now it will get longer still) i hope they implement some kind of media player into the ships. Not that i would really miss it or that you can't simply put on a MP3 in the background, but with all this talk about immersion it would be awesome to have a player integrated into the cockpit =D

Also if escorting is going to play any part in the game i hope they implement some sort of "auto-formation" feature so you won't have to fuss with speed/course corrections all the time.

TL;DR: Sign me up for a squadron dedicated to escort/protection duty =P

the type of person described above, in games like League of Legends (which I play mostly because I have nothing else really to do since console games are all trying to be call of duty nowadays), I like to be the guy who runs around and destroys people, but I also do the support role, so I can understand when you say that you need a certain mindset, and honestly, this would probably be one of the best things to do for college students because we can play the game and we STILL have time to work on school work! :P

Nova there is definitely a space for you with the fleet. You're also right about not having enough information however. Right now the focus should just be on getting people together who would like to work together. As far as roles go it's better to wait until we know more about the game before we decide on what we're going to do.

Intresting =) I have 3 years experience in EVE Online and 1 year Recruitment experience. I'm still waiting on some basic Information how the Game works, but I think that a big Player Community has the highest potential to be successfuel in Game. First there is the number advantage and secondly we can aquiere more Information and ressources that way. Would be glad to join if i decide to join the Alpha ;-) Got Information that the Devs will publish some basic Information soon like how we get blown up and how the ships actually Travel big Distances in Space. Yeah, i'm eagerly awaiting that information. The speculation is becoming rampant on the main forum.

I've been interested in joining a guild from zero since I saw news from Goonswarm on EVE. If we manage to create something in that scale, we would be sucesfull in-game in a whole new way, since it may be more players together than EVE (At least on start.) So, I am not much experienced on MMO's, but I've been playing Space SIM games and EVE have been some time and I just love it. If you need a industrial/trader/support guy for your fleets, count me in!

I would love to apply. I have exp. in leadsership of groups with Iron-Raiders (IR) in World of Tanks and started the Guild Fist of Adam Smith in beta and early release of Pirates of the Burning Seas. I love the diplomacy aspect of MMOs and Economy. I can send you more info if requested on this or any other aspect of my "credentials" -Yoshi

fleet yeah!

and how do you plan to earn a carrier?

even though you pledge $10000 they won't give you.

I think it will be like EVE, you'll need effort from all your alliance/clan members to have one carrier to support all of them.

I would think there would be a Fleet Bank where your members can deposit money as they choose. Then you can purchase the Carrier from there.

Or you might have to earn it through accomplishing some unknown goal. Either way I'm most confident that when it comes down to it we'll be able to attain 1 or 2 :D Yoshi it would be awesome to have you on board :D Are you interested in becoming a recruiter/leader? PM me if you have any questions :)

So it should be a trusthworthy guy, a fleet commander for example. I am just figuring out that everyone will want to have Carriers, everywhere.

Carriers won't be as popular as you think since they are going to need so many people to actually man. I dont think they'll have it like Eve where its all automated for you. Carriers will really only be good to have as a resupply point for smaller ships I feel. I think they most common large ship will be frigate size or destroyer size where it is possible to control turrets and cannons with just yourself. Personally, they only reason I think I'd want a carrier is... Large guild-like battles maybe? Otherwise for what I'd want I probably would go with a destroy or something with a giant main cannon so that I can be intimidating...

Carriers will act as mobile bases for our fleet. Say for some reason we need to move as a group across the Star Systems. We could just bunch in some carriers with all our ships and members and traverse across. I also think they could act as resource transports in times of peace.

I also trust roberts will make it so they are HARD to attain. Much like the carriers in eve are very difficult to attain.

As long you mean in Aspect of a SuperCarrier.

The normal Carrier in EVE is Pocket Money

Destroyers should be on a level like Dreadnaughts in EVE (they cost like 3 times more than a Carrier there)

Carrier on a Level like SuperCarriers and above

If there will be Battleships, they would be a bit below a Titan in EVE (couse it would be to 80% sure that the Carrier dies then)

Means we need a lot of active Players to secure Ressources to build the Beasts =)

Like the Tiger Claw carriers should be able to hold their own against a moderate sized fleet, because they will have fighter and bomber screens. They are a tactically sound way of accomplishing most fleet actions. Hit and run attacks will be fantastic... jump in grab what we need load and jump out again.

As long as you don't jump in the Carrier ;-)

Never have a Carrier be part of an actual fight.

Scout out Enemys at the edge of the Operaiton Field and then Launch an Assault with Bombers and Fighters.

It isn't that hard, anyone with enough money can get one.

But it's stupid. Since they're very weak alone and everyone wants to kill a carrier.

    • Galactic Astrometrics and Nexus of Jump-points | An exploration oriented corporation offering UEE for services performed
      By Mithix
      Find our corporation homepage here!

      What is Galactic Astrometrics?

GANJ is a casual corporation dedicated to offering opportunities for work and career expansion in Exploration, Scouting, and Fringe-service activities. We rely on the members of this Corporation to improve and upkeep the library of active fringe jump networks.
Outside of basic exploration, we encourage our enlisted members to perform services on paid mission basis', which include Research and Rescue, Medical assistance, Refueling and Scouting/Patrol of allied trade routes. Our main source of income is providing these services for clients and allied organizations.
We are a proud member of Cognition Corporation, a network of hundreds of organizations. For our main members, we will provide priority access to *paid* (UEE) missions based on contracts taken from allied organizations. Since this is a casual corporation we do not require the general populace to remain active, nor do we require main membership status to join.

We do expect great maturity from our members, and no racism, sexism or discrimination of any kind will be tolerated.

      A hierarchical voting system

Each of our ranks are given different amounts of votes; Voting sessions will take place at the beginning of the month following the announcement of prospective legislation. When voting, different ranks will have different voting powers:
      Admirals - 6 votes
      Captains - 6 votes
      Commanders - 5 votes
      Lieutenants - 4 votes
      Ensigns - 2 votes
      Crewmen - 1 vote
If the member is an officer of any kind, they shall be assigned an additional 2 votes. (Not to be stacked)

      Ranks and Roles:

      Fleet Admiral (1)
A single 'Fleet Admiral' will maintain the corporation by creating legislation to vote on, but cannot take place in voting sessions.
Fleet Admirals to not have a specified maximum amount of time to act in office, but may be removed from their post if a vote calls for such an action.

      Admiral (5+)
An 'Admiral' takes place in a preliminary voting session before other members. (Able to veto proposals with 75% veto votes)
Admirals are voted on by everyone with equal voting power [1 vote for each spot] every 2 months.
Requirement for an Admiral position is being at or above the rank of Lieutenant.
The number of Admirals is not to exceed 5% of the corporations population. (Not including the fleet admiral)
Admirals also organize missions and dispatch Captains or Commanders. Funding for official missions is provided by the corporation.

      Captain
Typically lead parties of ships on sensitive missions.
If a Captain wishes to take corporation members to complete an unofficial or private mission, a Captain must fund 50% of the mission expense.
Captains may promote or demote members based on certain guidelines.
A group of 10 Captains may submit legislation, which cannot be vetoed by Admirals, directly to the voting polls.

      Commander
Commanders typically accompany Captains on missions, or may be assigned a leader role on a mission if they are deemed sufficiently trained.
Commanders may propose promotions/demotions, as well as submit formal mission proposals.

      Lieutenant
Lieutenants are granted two additional votes on general polls, relative to Ensigns.
Lieutenants are the first rank capable of selecting specific contracts.
First rank capable of being promoted to Admiral by voting.

      Ensign
At this rank, the member must agree to perform direct orders made by Captains and Admirals while partaking in missions.
Insubordination will be penalized according to guidelines.

      Crewman
A standard member, has no special duties or abilities. Typically it is a crewman's job to make themselves appear fit for more intense duty (promotion).

      Promotions

Currently there are several methods of increasing your likelihood of rank growth, including but not limited to: Keeping Galactic Astrometrics and Nexus of Jump-points' affiliation as your main organization. Scoring in the top 10% in any Arena Commander leaderboard. Removing GANJ as a redacted/hidden affiliation Joining in on org flight days. Completing the membership survey. The membership survey can be found here.
Introducing yourself on the GANJ corporation forum thread. Our forum thread can be accessed here.
Maintaining activity on the forums/Discord server Our Discord server can be accessed here.
Adding the corporation banner to your forum signature The banner can be found here.
A guide on how to change your forum signature is here.

Official Missions/Contracts: Admirals will negotiate, approve or deny contract requests submitted by organizations or individuals. These missions will be carried out by members of the corporation, however missions cannot be ordered, a member always has a choice to perform the mission or not. Whenever members from the corporation are hired for a mission they will always be paid, but must always adhere to protocol while on the mission.

Members with the rank of Lieutenant or above will be given access to all available contracts for GANJ.
Members below the rank of Lieutenant (Crewman or Ensign) will still be given opportunities to take part in missions whenever possible, however they will only be offered contracts (therefore cannot choose specific contracts and are not given access to the contract database).
This is done to prevent sensitive or private information from leaking, and to maintain the reputation of GANJ.

Restricted Contracts are contracts in which the details are kept confidential. Typically these contracts bring greater UEE rewards and higher likelihood of rank growth if completed successfully. Breaching the confidentiality agreement of a restricted contract is grounds for suspension or even permanent termination depending on severity.
